I was wondeing if anyone has gone to the Spirited Ball in the past?? This is my first time going to the Food & Wine Festival (And the MNSSHP :cool1: ) and this looked very interesting to me. Also what else would all of you recommene for a first timer?
December 2004 we did the "Drinking Around the World" and had a blast!! So I am excited about the Food & Wine Festival.
Thanks in advance for all your help :flower:

This is the first year for the Spirited Ball (which I understand sold out the first day although you may be able to get on a waiting list, if they have one). You may be thinking of the Happy Haunts Ball held in MK the last few years (but not this year). I called first thing when Disney opened up reservations for F&W. I was able to reserve the Party of the Senses on Oct. 29 & the Spirited Ball on the 30th. Friends who called late that day were told the Ball was sold out.

There are all kinds of free seminars during the F&W. It's a great festival and you'll have a great time.

There is a list of the extra paid events on the DIS or wdwig.com. There is not a childs price for anything even though they don't drink, but your DH and you may want to go to some events. A lot of them sold out fast this year though.

Is there some kind of suggested dress for the spirited ball? None of the Disney stuff has any guidelines in this direction, except "no costumes"

I have not seen one either but since it is a "ball" we will be getting dressed up:) I think I will wear a short cocktail dress and DH is wearing a dress shirt and tie.

I'm going to wear a skirt, leaning towards a long one :) Maybe a long tan skirt for work so not fancy but the shirt I would wear has pretty fall colors in it. I'm looking forward to hearing what everyone else will wear as time drags by :) I have a couple of long skirts that I keep waffling between LOL

When I made my reservation I was told "resort casual," but no shorts, tennis shoes, t shirts. Basically it was the same list given with reservations for the Party of the Senses.

I'll be wearing dress jeans with a nice blouse/top.

Patricia - the word "Ball" doesn't necessarily mean the same thing at WDW. I attended all the Happy Haunts Balls at MK and believe me, it was not dress up unless you wanted to dress up as something from the Haunted Mansion. The top package of HBB had two dressy events (dinner in the Mansion and lunch at V&A). The actual ball was usually shorts and a t shirt. This said doesn't mean some people might not dress up.

Since the description involved dinner, dancing, etc.. we just want to dress up a bit. The cocktail dress I am thinking of is not very dressy. I wore a casual skirt and t-shirt to Party For The Senses last year and I was pretty underdressed compared to most. We also live 5 minutes away so dressing up is easy for us:)

Just got back from the Spirited Ball-what a blast! Turns out it was pretty dressy. Lots of couples in tuxes and cocktail dress. Will try to do a write up for wdwig.
