F! Projector Upgrades!

Look-its-nothing-68863765496.jpeg

HERE is a clip showing the current Fantasmic! Dragon which performs in the DLR version of the show.

Now THIS ............ is a dragon.

Many will tell you that the DLR version of F! is a far better show, in general.

I am of that group, myself.
And, I still see the DHS version multiple times each trip.

(It's like the DHS version is a great cheese pizza, and the DLR version adds the pepperoni!)

Note to self:
My 84,000th post was about Fantasmic!

Not bad, not bad at all!

Cool! Always thought that the current projectors were pretty dim. Love fantastic!

I like some aspects of the DLR version better, but DHS version has good points too. Seating and viewing area is much better at DHS for one. I also prefer the mountain backdrop as opposed to the fort. It has to fit in with Frontierland at DL, but I don't think the show fits that vibe. DL on the other hand does have that dragon, plus the Peter Pan vs. Captain Hook sequence is awesome and sorely missed. The thing I love most about Fantamsic! is the music, and they both get that one right!

I am happy to see the projectors going digital and being brighter (by all reports). It can only improve my most beloved show!

My family totally agrees. We just got back from our trek out west for DL's 60th. My boys said the DHS F! will never be the same for them.;) They didn't remember it from our visit when they were toddlers. They also loved the Peter Pan Hook fight scene on the Columbia. :thumbsup2 I already told DH we are going to have to go back to DL with the younger kids, it may be harder to get to from KC then Orlando but totally worth it.:goodvibes:goodvibes

It's not THAT much harder. :)

When the kids are older, try driving to DL through the desert southwest. The journey is worth it...... if you can survive that first day trekking across Kansas on I-70. :faint:

That is the route we took. And yes the first day was why I find the drive to Orlando easier. We stopped at the painted desserts and went to the petrified forest and the meteor crater and some other things. We have a couple science and nature kids. :thumbsup2 The next time we go I was thinking early December for less heat so I think we would try flying. Actually your posts on the DL side it what convinced us to try DL again.:disrocks:

That's pretty much my take on it as well. We were lucky enough to get to see the DL version with the balcony dessert party twice. Sadly, that is gone now. It's my single best memory of our DL trips. Our last trip to DL we did the scaled down dessert party and as I understand the way it works now, it's standing only for general viewing. I would definitely not like that!

At any rate, glad to see the updates. Our last trip we were all saying it needed to be done. Fantasmic is one of my favorite, not to be missed attractions.

I'm glad I could help divert you to the West! We've flown from KCI into both LAX and SNA. I prefer SNA just because it's so close but also like the direct flights they have to LAX. I'm thinking I might have heard something about them testing out direct flights into SNA from KCI soon. That would be the best of both worlds. We did that in early December the last 2 years and had a great time.

You can sit if you get the Fantasmic dinner package at Blue Bayou, or I believe RBT now too. Although there are no chairs.
