Eye2Eye WISH shirt proposal

Can someone post the link to the website? I want to check out what sizes and the styles of shirts, so I can see if they have the women's shirts in my size?

Thanks!
Terri

I don't know how to do links (will learn some day) but eye2eyes web address is: http://eye2eye.org/.

They make shirts in many styles-crew, v-neck, tank, sleeveless, etc., and the sizes in both mens and womens go to 3X. They say that their sizes are comparable to store sizes, although I'm not sure what that means (I don't necessarily find the sizing in a single store to be consistant) and also am not sure if Canada sizes differently ;). Any idea Leana? I refuse to buy anything bigger than a 3XL though, regardless of "sizing."

ETA: Thanks Vic.

you click around too - I found that the "soccer" "performance" shirts had the vneck, crew neck, there were some somewhere that were tank style as well - not sure why they dont put up a running one -

but they had children's sizes, XS - 3XL in women's mens, a lot to chose from imho in sizing - and the women shirts are cut in at the sides (that figure 8 styling)

ETA I got a response to my question on shipping cost - I picked Chicago and Orlando Fl
to ship 1 jersey or a jersey is $8
we use the postal service

If it is just a t-shirt it will probably be between $3-$4
I would have to go there and price it

It would be cheaper and less work to ship it from here to individual addresses
If it is a larger number I would do it at cost +$1 for the padded envelope and work

Are we abandoning the RaceReady idea until we figure out eye2eye?

That's what I need to know from everyone. So far, no one has said. When Carrie and I were coordinating the shirt orders, she brought up a good point about doing them at the same time. That way people don't order one shirt, then decide they would have rather had the other if it had been offered. The shirts aren't cheap and I would feel bad if someone ordered RR or classic and then would have rather had the eye2eye. I'm a little worried we have too many choices now and we're not going to recognize each other during a race because there's too many different shirts to look for.

One other thing on the RaceReady graphics. On the back, they have changed the emphasis of the letters. We did put a lot of thought into that and gradually decreased the size of the slogan so that the Did Not Start was smallest. This was done to show that Did Not Finish was truly greater than Did Not Start. The way it looks now, especially with the movie screen slant, the first thing my eye sees when I look at the graphic is Did Not Start. Not sure that's what we want the first glance impression of the WISH team to be. I think the DLF>DNF>>DNS needs to be larger as well. I totally get lost the way it is now.

I tried to make the shirts a little brighter and changed the back to the other 3 in a montage...

does anyone know the wish font?

That looks great!

**Mel** Your reference to the back graphics is with regard to the eye2eye design, correct. We can work on fixing the "Did not Start" part- reducing its size. That's the type of info we need from you veterans as I don't think any of us currently working on the eye2eye shirt (Kate as Chief eye2eye Team Shirt Consulting Designer, Sandy as Special Deputy of Ideas and Chief Recruitment Officer or me as the Big Guy Who Won't Fit into RaceReady Shirts and Suggestor of More Bad Ideas than Good) were around when the team first came up with the design.

For example, a couple other questions I have:

*Is it crucial/wanted to have the "dis" logo above the "WISH" as in the "original" shirts (the web address remains on the back)?

What is the meaning of the feather on the back of the "original" shirts (a symbol of Timothy convincing Dumbo he could fly?) and should that remain?

As I told you originally, the main reason I offered to work on this was that RaceReady shirts won't fit me (and other WISHers) and I would like to have a "WISH" shirt in a lighter, more breathable tech fabric. As eye2eye offers tech shirts in larger sizes, as well as the ability to incorporate some additional design features, I thought it was worth exploring.

If the "WISH" Team does not want to explore a possible eye2eye team design as an option, I won't pursue it on behalf of the team. Just let me know.

IMHO this design is becoming a bit busy. DH and I really like the original design we saw on folks at the WDW marathon and think it really is striking. Too many graphics underneath and you wind up losing the words.

Can we do the original design thru eye2eye in order to accomodate those who need larger sizes?

Mel - I agree that with too many different shirts it'll be harder to find other WISH team members in the crowds. And I'll need to find a friendly face during my first 1/2! :goodvibes

Just my 2 cents...

I absolutely LOVE this. IMHO, I don't think it's too busy. The green still stands out so we know it's a wisher and the background is just that--a background, a watermark if you will. I think it looks really good! Great job!:thumbsup2

Again, I am flexible and will go w/ the majority.

I just think it's cool to have another company as an option.

Part of the reason for exploring shirts with eye2eye was their ability to make custom graphic shirts incorporating designs into the actual shirt fabric. These shirts would not have the logos, graphics and writing ironed-on/screen printed; rather, it is part of the fabric from which the shirt is made.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't see myself wearing this. I generally don't like "patterned" tops. (Sorry, but I don't find them that flattering)

I am a little confused however.

Is the Race Ready gone. I also ordered the original so I hopefully will have ONE shirt, but who knows???

Check out Carrie's thread for the actual graphics of the back slogan:

Yes to the feather, "I believe I can fly" was a huge support and a way for us to include the Disney theme without 'officially' using a Disney symbol that could offend Disney (or have them ask us to quit making our shirts).

Lily did get permission for us to use the Dis logo and they actually gave us the /wish URL just for the shirts so people who saw us at races could find us again. I'm not so wrapped up in the front logo, but think the URL should stay.

I totally understand. When I first found this group, I'm not sure I would have fit in the RR shirts either. I would like to have one shirt that everyone can wear.

I totally think it's worth pursuing. They'll do the proposal for free so it's worth seeing what we can come up with, particularly if it will be a better option for more team members. I tend to worry about a lot of things (can I count worrying as XT minutes, it does tend to raise my heart rate ;) ) and one concern I have is that there's so many WISH items going out right now. There's two different shirt orders, hat/visors and I thought I saw the sock thread resurrected not too long ago. Throw another shirt into the mix and it gets crazy expensive! :scared1:

My other issue is whether or not to hold the RR shirt order to see how this comes out. We're trying to get it in quickly as RR will be cutting the women's shirts in 1-2 weeks and if we miss that, we may not have them in time for Minnie.

This is just my opinion, but I think maybe go ahead with RR, then y'all can have plenty of time to work up a really cool design with eye2eye and maybe do the official order late spring, early summer.

I also think as you proceed, start a new idea thread. Many people may have looked at the initial designs and aren't bothering with this thread anymore because they decided eye2eye wasn't for them. They may not be aware of the new design team and the cool ideas y'all are coming up with.

Okay, my brainstorm has faded to a drizzle. My best suggestions as you proceed with the design are to keep the back of the shirt intact (that means the most to people), keep the WISH Racing Team, We're Inspired to Stay Healthy on the front (but redesign, refont, regraphic at will) and be really careful with too much Disney both for the folks doing other races (love the home and away concept though!) and for the sake of Disney legal.

I agree - and I'm just throwing out my opinion--

I think the majority of the team is excited and will benifet from the RR shirts, esp the women's designs. The color is different from the original and the original stands out - bright and proud!!

I agree lots of items to order - or are being thrown out there.

However, that being said - I like this company - I've been drawn to this kind of shirt - I've seen them with other floral type designs, but, they usually have some sort of flaw in the arm area where there is a "wrinkle" where no color appears -

It doesnt seem like that occurs with this company, they print the design, then sew.

This company has sizes that will accomadate young scream teamers.
this company said 1-2 weeks to completion - plus another week for shipping? (guessing here!)
this company seems to have the women's style that I'm looking for... ( I am not a majority...)
The company also have the larger shirts to accomadate all team members - various sizes, shapes, styles, etc - doesnt seem to upset them.

This company is willing to do one shirt, and to mail it to each individual team member. The inquiry I made had the 1 shirt mailed to me at about $5.

Whereas, I can understand that this shirt "may seem" busy - we havent seen them outright - but I can agree they were busy enough to stand out that a group of WISH team members thought it would work for our Running Team...

I would be willing to order a "test" shirt and take a picture of it - (hey, tomorrow's my birthday and I always buy something fun for my birthday!! ) If the group that have posted favorably to invest in this prospect - I would not want to encourage dissention amongst the team members... I'm proud to be a part of this team, and I proudly wear the WISH original shirt - I'll be wearing it for the races I have scheduled, and I know they were inspirational in the Half (based on all those that passed me and encouraged me!!)

Kate
I like the condensed back pictures, LOVE the castle on the front...

Also, keep in mind that this company does "wrap around designs, so you wont have to cram the 4 designs all on the back - I think its hard to do in this forum - but when we submit the design, I think we should have AK tree and maybe part of the "SE"? wrap around? spreading out a bit?

I also dont think its noticable to have the disboard.com on the front - do like the feather... (again, as a person of a female nature, it can be tricky having any writing on the front of the shirt!!)

LOVE the mickey ears on the runners!! That's great!!

OK, I'm with Mel on teh number of options. I already have 21 orders fro original shirts.

Here are my concerns:
1. While teh color does differ a bit on teh RR shirts, it's teh same design. I really don't want different designs and 3 colors. We don't look like a ream any more.

2. WIth alertshirt (does the original WISH shirt), we can get very reasonabley priced scream team shirts. Matching teh design would eb hard, though and more expensive, if possible at all if we changed to the new design.

3. I don't know that everyone is popping in here, as not everyone is looking to get a new shirt. If we are changing the design, we need to get everyone's opinion. Perhaps we should start a new thread with a title like, "The Future of WISH shirts."

FInally, teh design is SUnny's I don't feel rigth changing it withough her input. I hate to bother her, as it sounds like life is far from easy right now, but I'm going to see if she will chime in too. At least give her the opportunity, as she came up with the base idea while teh WISHers at teh time gave input. As Mel said, the shirt was a team effort adn we need to look at this like a team again.

However, ther are people who were promised that we could get them WISH shirts before Minnie. I'm at a loss. I hate to think of people spendng teh $ now and then we change directiosn with the shirts, ut I want everone who wants a shirt to be able to get one. :confused3

Thank you Carrie, that was well said, and very important!! its all about team!

I was also at a loss - esp when the RR shirts came out - because I am left out of that option,(and I dont like that feeling left out) and so many are able to take that - (and they should) I am very proud to wear the original shirt... and I want to add how special the entire WISH team does make me feel... I lol, and beam with pride... (I do want to 'belong" )

I believe Bill intends to start a new thread once Kate has an opportunity to work on the disign...

Sunny thinking of you - sending prayers, postive thoughts :wizard: and :pixiedust:

I really like the design. I have a couple of suggestions:

1. Do we need the runners on the front at all? Wouldn't it be better to just have the WISH team logo? Would that help with the complaint from some that the shirt is too busy?

2. Agree that we don't need the disboards logo on the front.

3. Stay with the original look of the back so that the "Dead Last Finish" line is bigger than the "Did Not Finish" is bigger than the "Did Not Start"

Overall, I think these will look absolutely amazing IRL. I also think it is a big plus that we can order individually throughout the year. That allows new members to get a shirt anytime. :thumbsup2

As we get closer to ordering, I will need some guidance from eye2eye on what type of shirt will work best for running and not be too tight fighting. I want the shirt to be loose enough so that everyone does not have to see all my bumps and lumps. :lmao:

I really like the latest Eye to Eye design. However, I would use plain orthogonal formatting for the "written out" dlf>dns>>dns portion. This is the shirt that I would wear to all Disney events.

I also would like to have the "graphicaly simpler" Race Ready shirts to wear at all non-Disney events.

The cost doesn't bother me, they are both a whole lote less than the Adidas singlets I already own.

Chester

One question?

Has anyone ever worked with this company before? I went to thier website looking for sizing info etc... I don't know, if it wasn't for you guys I would never conside placing an order there.....(Why org as their website?)

Just curious as to if anyone was going to continue to pursue this. I am still interested in a getting a few if it works out.

I guess it's good if we do come up w/ a design we can order on our own so no one has to be in charge of that--less time consuming.

Stacie

I'd wondered the same thing, and had been watching as the eye2eye thread slipped toward the second page. Is there any option for "plain" lime with the original design? I don't mind being a guinea pig on the first order, but I didn't know if anyone was pursuing that option.
