Extreme couponer arrested for stealing coupons

Did anyone read further and see the other reports?

Two men burst into apartment to rob someone, who doesn't have cash, and said he could write a check to the robber?
Babysitter stole $1900 and clothes?
Man picked up by woman at train station (didn't know the last name) stole laptoop from woman?

WOW!

When it's carried to that extreme, sure. But, I admit I have some items put away, such as bottled water, canned goods, batteries etc. I think it's my New England upbringing. I'm ready for blizzard, hurricane or zombie apocalypse.:lmao:
Well, there's a difference between emergency rations for winter and being able to open a Walgreens in your pantry! LOL

Must be something in the water :rotfl2:.

My son was laughing at me and calling me an "extreme couponer" yesterday. I spent $240 at BJ's, after saving $80. Not exactly extreme!

Dang! I saved $11 with store coupons the other day and I was pretty dang proud of myself!!

Now I feel like a slacker!

geeze that is 23 miles from where I live. They better stay away from my sunday paper. That stuff happening there better stay up there and not come to where I am. Am not an extreme couponer but I do try to save some

This is insane. This lady has ruined your life for what 100 bottles of mustard,50 packs of luncheon meat? :sad2:

don't forget the toothpaste and sobe water! think there was a coupon for a lawyer in all those fliers?:lmao:

good i was going to have to sign up for delivery its gotten so bad these days, hopefully it starts a trend. im all about being green but at this point they are going to have to vacuum seal those suckers to keep the crooks out.

People have been doing this for years. It's the reason I haven't bought a paper from a vending machine since the 90's. LOL

I always check the inserts when I get them at the store too. You just never know and often times they are missing. I try to take a paper from a sealed bundle if there are still any.

Good for them for prosecuting her! She knew she was stealing. :sad2:

This is crazy. Every since this show came on everyone looks at me with my binder a little weird! I like my coupons and it helps my family but I only stock the things we use and need! I do buy some things and give to the food pantry at church. This show I believe has hurt the ones who use the coupons correctly.

This explains so much, there have always been several places in town I avoided buying the Sunday paper from because the inserts were missing. Before the "extreme couponing" show I honestly thought the Sentry by us pulled them out to keep people from saving money :lmao: Now I know it's probably just some nut case stocking up on cereal for the End of Days :rotfl:

Same here! After the Blizzard of '78 mom always had a few extra canned items, pasta, and pasta sauce in the cabinet and a roasting chicken in the freezer. :) I do pretty much the same now (except for the chicken since my freezer isn't very big).

Good! I hate having to check the papers I buy to see if someone has pulled this stunt. There's no reason for it.

I always open up the paper to make sure the coupons are in it before I buy it. It sucks we have to do that.

It's one thing to dumpster dive for coupons people have thrown out...it's another to blatently steal them from the papers using just fifty cents. >_<

No. Both of those acts you just described indicate someone, IMO, who has gone "fanatical". I don't look at either of those situations as the acts of a "normal" person.

Wow! That's just crazy!

I work for a very large consumer products company and my job is to manage the media spending budgets for 2 very large brands. One of my jobs is to determine how much money to hold in the budgets for future coupon spending for unexpired coupons.

You would not believe how much $$ companies put into determining coupon amounts, printing/handling, redemption, plus the people costs.

When people steal coupons it affects so many people it's almost mind-boggling to think about. I just don't get it, and my fav part is the cadillac SUV. Classy!

Last week I went to buy a Sunday paper at CVS and not one of them had the coupons! I had to go to 7-11.I told the clerk and she said, "Probably because some one took them. So aggrivating!

I always check my papers before I buy them. One Sunday, I noticed the clerk was watching me. I told her that I only buy the paper for the coupons and hate getting my paper without all the coupons in it. She said that sometimes the papers come without the coupon inserts in them. I told her that the inserts come on Thursday and the papers come on Sundays. She said people are probably stealing them, then. Annoying!!

I had to stop buying the Sunday papers. I was only doing it for the coupons and I am absolutely the worst couponer. I can't count how many times I would take coupons with me to the grocery store only to come home and find them still in my pocket. :sad2:

Coupon stealing happens alot in my town. My poor husbad has to stand and go through the papers at the gas station to make sure the coupon inserts are in there. I will never put my money in a machine again:sad2: It makes me so upset to waste my money.

That just made me laugh. Only because I am the exact same way. I used to get so excited about the Sunday paper because of the coupons. Which I would then cut out the ones I would use, put them in my purse, then find them again when they were expired
