Extra wave phone and BTB question

We'll be renting an extra wave phone on our cruise. We've always turned this back in on the last night of our cruise, but this time we are doing a BTB and I'm wondering if anyone knows how that works. On the last night of the first leg of the cruise can we go check it in and immediately check it back out for the next cruise so we're not without it, or will we need to wait until the next day to check it out again?

As wave phones are tied to your stateroom: if you change stateroom between the two legs of your B2B you will have to turn in and re-assign. Have no experience in this, but I think it's turn in and get a new one for the second leg. Just ask this when embarking and picking up the phone.

I would personally want to turn it in and then pick up a new one. Just so they can close out the account from the first cruise and don't charge you for it 'being lost' or 'not in the stateroom'.

That's kind of what I was hoping to do. I was hoping to turn it in, get the confirmation paper, then immediately check it back out so I don't have to come back the next day when they will be so busy.
