Extra tickets and Fastpasses

Headed down in the morning for a Disney Turkey day with DW, MIL and DD2. We have 3 other kids that aren't going on this trip bu thave multi day passes we bought in the summer. So I was thinking, what if I took their other 3 tickets to use to get Fastpasses along with the 3 that we'll use to get in? Would it deduct a day off of those tickets? Just a thought, but I'd wouldn't want to find out the hard way.

Regardless, we're headed down for Turkey in the morning!

In order to get a fastpass the ticket had to used to get into the park, that you want to get the fastpass in.....

Found out the hard way that mb168 is correct. Tried to get fastpasses on 4 tickets but only 3 would work. Found out the 4th ticket wouldn't work because it hadn't been scanned on our way into the park. This happened twice in one vacation..second time we dealt with only getting 3 fast passes per ride!

The only way I can think that this happened not once but twice is that we were with two kids in a double stroller so we generally handed the 4 tickets to the gate person and all walked in through the gate rather than the turnstile.
