Yup! All you have to do is go to a designated area when it's time, show them your Key to the World card, and they'll slap a bracelet on you!

But it was probably not a crowded. For the first hour or so there are long lines for almost everything. We did EMH last April when MK was open til 1 am. We watched Wishes from Fantasyland and headed to HM right after the fireworks. When we got off of the ride, there was a huge line for HM. I think SplMtn and BTMRR both had long lines until around 11:30 or so.

We did the e-nights during 3 different visits back when we had to pay for it. Two nights were great, but on one of the nights, it was very crowded. I'm not sure that the number of guests was limited as many believed, at least for that night. There were a large number of cheerleaders in the park that night and maybe they weren't included in the total count?

I've read a number of posts that have mentioned that the evenings are crowded under the new EMH program.

Depending on when you visit has a great bearing on the evening EMH. Last June it was a complete waste of time. The lines were as long (or longer) than they were during the day. We luckily overheard a CM tell someone that they were going to re-open the FP machines for the Tower of Terror. We grabbed FP as soon as they opened. After that the wait times for everything were insane. The return time for the FP was way into the night so we just left.
If you go in an off-season I understand the evening EMH is very good.

I agree, we went to an evening EMH at MK last summer, the first week of June and the lines were horrible, totally not worth the effort. It was much better when you had to pay for the extra hours, not near the crowds. The best strategy is to go the morning after to the park that had evening EMH the night before.

I was at Epcot this past Friday evening for Extra Magic Hours (March 17) and the crowds were, in a word, HUGE. Add to that, a breakdown or two and you really have a wasted several hours. For example, after waiting in line for about 20 minutes, for the Test Track, the lines quit moving (I was in the single rider line). After about 10 more minutes, a voice came over the loudspeakers advising us that the ride will be suspended for a while for the fixing of some problem or other. I left the area after that. As I was leaving, the previous announcement was being repeated, and the lines were not moving.

The wait time at Soarin' at about midnight was over an hour, and no one seemed to be going home.

HOWEVER, on Sunday night (March 19) the crowds were much more manageable, and I was able to do many rides and attractions between 10 and 12:30, doing some twice.
The only thing I did notice was that while the official closing time was listed at 10:00, the Cast Members were not checking for the wristbands at ride enterances until about 11:00. So the lines were a bit long until after 11:00.

My advice to you? Avoid extra magic hours, especially at Epcot. Visit the parks that are NOT having extra hours.
