Extended stays, what all do you do when you have them?

My sis and I were talking last night, next year we are going on the WBPC cruise and staying at WDW for 5 nights and hitting each park once, 4 days into the park. But our trip after that she would like to stay 14 nights, we usually stay 10. We would be staying at least a MOD. her hubby is a big n tall guy full size beds don't work for them, sadly that means FW is out too, we love WL but thinking maybe AKL too.

We are not ones that go non stop, we enjoy our resort time too. So besides the parks what other things do you enjoy doing at WDW? We will hit Universal for a day, sorry we are Harry Potter fans too. We have rented bikes and boats before, just looking for ideas for things to do at the resorts, things that we have not thought of and maybe even just on WDW grounds- thanks
BTW between us we have 3 boys until 9

We did 2 weeks earlier this year and I am planning on adding a couple extra days to an already-booked 10 day stay next year.

We treat the whole property as one big resort and try to take advantage of everything that's going on. Movies under the stars. Campfire sing-a-longs. Exploring every nook and cranny of Animal Kingdom or World Showcase (my favorite areas). We just really take our time, relax, enjoy. Get an ice cream and people watch in downtown Disney. Hang out by the pool. We do a lot of sit down meals.

We've done the 4 parks/4 days thing before and it feels more like running a marathon than being on vacation.

Yes, that's what we do too. I tell folks that if you only had a Disney resort but put it at the beach, with all the activities, restaurants, etc. there, you would not complain about a week's vacation there. We love OKW, they have a great restaurant, really nice pool area with great activities during the day, like family bingo, trivia - not just little kid stuff. The Gurgling Suitcase pool bar is the best on property for friendliness, great bartenders, and delicious specialty drinks like the Turtle Krawl. The boat to DTD is so convenient.

If you have a car, running over to POR to see YeeHaw Bob is fun too. Otherwise, it's not worth the time to get there.

Fort Wilderness is down the street and around the corner, so you are close to all those activities too.

We like to play miniature golf at least once a trip. On a 2 week trip, we'd probably play twice.

Honestly, we could fill a month and be happy. There's a ton to do in the parks and beyond when you take the time to check out everything!
