Hope someone can help me with a couple of questions on the express PLUS at Universal.

We are going in July, so is it worth the estimated $40 per head ? Any links to where you can buy in advance ? I also heard that there is no need to buy for children, just adults - is this correct ?

Thanks

It depends on the crowds. If it's busy, and July usually is, it would be worth it. I wouldn't buy those in advance though..I would wait and see what the crowds are like. I think everyone must have an EP even children to go through the express line. You can check out their website to find out more.

Depending on how many people are in your party, it may be cheaper to get a room at an on site hotel for a night and get two days automatic FOTL.

Nope. Children need express passes too.

Hiya

I have bought these passes for me & df for IOA as a treat for our first day at a park.

Decided on getting tickets for IOA as df probably wont like any of the 'biggies' and this way I can go on them while df waits with video camera and we can both go on the waterride without a long queue or wait for a UE timeslot to come around.

We visited the Universal parks in July last year. We didn't purchase the Express Plus passes and it took us four mornings at the parks to go on all the popular rides. By 10:00 each morning, all the free Express Pass return times were already at 5:00 in the evening or sold out for the day!

This summer we will bite the bullet and purchase the EP Plus tickets. It will save us from having to go back to Universal several days, and will make the park visits much more enjoyable.

Unfortunately, Universal has set up their park visiting in a manner that if you don't purchase this ticket during the busy times, you will definitely be a third class citizen behind those staying on site and those who purchased EP Plus.

And as was stated, everyone in the group needs to purchase one. Good luck!

I agree. I know that staying onsite at a US hotel has the added benefit of FOTL access which is great for those staying onsite but this does make it seem those staying offsite are not worth bothering with and almost as of US dont care wether we turn up or not, I much prefer WDW idea of extra hours before & after opening and having the main bulk of the day equal to all guests.

I wouldnt have bothered with the Express Plus tickets had I not been aware of FOTL access for guests.

I'm going in July, alone this year to WDW but I have an AP for USO and I did order the EP (and already received it) because of the crowds. I got it for USO and plan on doing IOA first thing in AM and then going over to USO and taking my time. For one park it was $37.85 (appx. I'm guess on the cents). HTH :teeth:

I'm planning to go on July, too (july25-30). I already bought my tickets to USO (offer Buy2-day, get 3days free). Can I buy the express plus online? Is it like an upgrade of the tickets or is it independent?

Thanks in advance,

It isn't an upgrade.

You can only purchase them a month in advance as they only set the
price based on the anticipated crowds.

If your date is further than one month in the future, it won't show the
express pass plus option when you purchase the tickets.

Go to: http://www.univacations.com/
Click on "tickets only" then enter your dates and number in party. Then
click search.

When it takes you to the next page. scroll down to where it says:

Departure Date: Nights:
Use the GO button to Book Your Tickets Now!

Enter the date and number of nights and click "Go." It should then take
you to a page that has the Universal and Islands of Adventure Express
plus pass along with tickets. That says: Option Price Guide
Universal Express Plus-Islands of Adventure $XX.xx (this will be the
price not x)
Universal Express Plus-Universal Studios Florida $XX.xx

Included features and/or taxes:
Handling Fee 2.00

Do NOT purchase express unless you know the exact date you need them as
they are dated and only good for the date on the pass. Also the express
pass is sold for each park. You can't use the Universal express pass
card at IOA. They do have one that includes both parks and is about $10 more.
