Hi All!

We have just added 2 "bonus days" to our trip in September, and trying to decide between BLT--TPV (non-CL) or BWI--Standard CL!

I would love any thoughts or opinions? Because they are bonus days, we don't have any set park, it's before Food and Wine, so just can't decide which would be more fun! We would mostly just enjoy the resort, pool, etc.

We will be off property for the remainder of this trip (parents time share)

We are: Me, DH, DS(12), DS(10), DD(8)!

Thanks!!

You are so lucky to find BWI during F&W!!!!! I would snatch that up ASAP!! You can't beat being in walking distance.

What's the room size at BLT? I'm guessing a 1 bedroom? That's tough. I'm a CL fan but with 5 the space of BLT would be a big pro. I guess it comes down to which you would like more.....extra space or CL privileges? Will you be around the resort to take advantage of the snacks and drinks? Which parks do you enjoy more, MK or EP and HS?

I was going to ask about timing but based on this post, I am guessing pretty soon ;) I love the Dream, but not sure I would sail during hurricane season. We went in January and it was great.

Oh no let's hope not that would be scary! We were at WDW in August of 1992 when cat 5 Hurricane Andrew was heading to shore and we left 3 days early to get out of dodge. With me being from Southern California I kept saying " Let's just stay and ride it out, it's just a little windy " My husband and in laws from Charleston South Carolina kept saying in their adorable southern accents " No we don't ride out no hurricane " I didn't really get it but after seeing what Andrew did to Florida it was crystal clear to me.
The good news is hurricanes move rather slow so the warning time is many days, unlike our earthquakes in California. I think you'll be good : )

Lucky lucky fun fun 2 bonus days : ) Since it's before food & wine starts I'm leaning towards thinking BLT since it's a theme park view (( love)) and with your 3 children's ages the location and view would be amazing! But then BWI CL will have the extras of the CL of course, and most likely a more relaxing pool resort time ... that's a hard choice for sure. If it was during food & wine BWI CL would be 100 percent my choice. I think you'll have to think about the MK area versus the Epcot area and what your family likes to do beyond the pool since kids of their ages can get antsy and like to know ... What are we doing next? lol well at least the 8 -12 year olds in our family. Thinking one of the water parks would be a fun activity to add to your bonus days : ) Sorry not the biggest help
I'm right now seeing if I can talk my husband into arriving 3 days earlier so we can enjoy more F&W Nov. 6-9 and the start are planned vacation Nov. 9- 23 at our booked resorts. F&W ends on the 10th of November so right now we have really only 1 day of F&W with our flight arriving in the early evening of the 9th.

Oops, I read her post wrong, if it isn't during F&W I would definitely go with the 1 bedroom villa at BLT. More space, two bathrooms, close to MK, great view, you can get groceries for breakfast, snacks, drinks, etc. You don't need CL when you have a full kitchen. My kids much prefer grocery delivery over what's in the lounge anyway. That way they can get the exact foods and drinks they want. Gardengrocer is the delivery service we use. They bring the groceries right to the hotel for you. Super easy! :)

We stayed CL at the Wilderness Lodge last Year around Christmas and loved it, now next summer we are going in August and want to stay CL again but haven't decided where yet. I'm pretty torn between Poly and GF. So I'm looking into info on both resorts.

I saw a photo of the GF main building club level room and though I spied a Keurig coffee maker, is that only in suites or is that an amenity at all the GF club rooms? I think if we did CL at GF it'd be in the Sugar Loaf building, probably not in the main building but just thought I'd ask.

I've brought this up a couple times but really have not found any answer to this, hopefully someone on this post can help.. Does anyone have any experience getting access to Club Level when they are not actually staying on Club Level? I've literately received every answer you could think of to this question every time I've asked it so at this point I've got no clue what to expect when I get to the resort. For anyone who hasn't caught my other posts on our upcoming trip, we'll be staying in the grand villa at AKL for 10 days as non-DVC. I paid cash for this room. Needless to say I think it would be nice to be able to access the club level to get a coffee and a snack from time to time :thumbsup2. Does anyone have any experience with asking for access to the club level? How did you go about asking? I think for what I've already paid I don't think what i'd be asking for is out of the question, I just need to figure out how to go about asking this question very politely and respectfully. I don't want to be that guy who comes off like "Hey you better give this to be because I feel like i'm so important!!!!" I'm honestly not that type of person.

The Club Level lounges are for guests who paid for Club Level rooms. Not for all resort guests. Sorry.

It actually does happen, thought not often, that guests not on club level will be granted club level access for various reasons. I have heard of it happening when someone has had a particularly bad experience in the resort or it being offered to solve a guest issue. There was a person here on the DIS who had a bedbug incident and was given club level access even though no club level rooms were available. I think the OP was just inquiring here to see if it was possible to request club level access. Of course you can request it and just see what happens. I would assume they rarely would grant the request just because the lounge can't accommodate more people for fire codes and such. Plus the poor castmembers have such a hard job just trying to keep the food and drinks refreshed as it is.

quick question - I have a CL trip starting 11/21, I have never received a phone call or a letter? Could this be because I had a room at the CR and switched it to WL/CL?? I really just want to make a room request.

Based upon personal experience, you need to contact them. We are CL for 1 nt before our DCL, as well as 2 nts after the cruise, as well as concierge on the cruise. No letters, no phone calls, no magnet mailers or anything else.

Disney needs to either contact everyone booked at CL or contact no one!

Hi Clarabelle,
I usually send the IPO an introduction email after we book. In the subject line I put our last name, reservation # and dates.

The information for the Wilderness Lodge IPO is in post #9 of this thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3292974

The phone number to the IPO is listed there, as well. I think in general the IPO's try to get welcome letters out, but when they don't, no worries. It's really easy to just contact them and get the ball rolling.
