EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

We are staying CL at WL at the end of Feb. When should I put in a room request? Can I just request a room with a view of MK or do I need to give room numbers or a location to them? TIA!

I would add your request now. I'd call CRO and have it added there as well as email IPO. You could include the room number as a 2nd or 3rd request, but I'd put the view you want as your first request so the room assigner has an idea of what you're looking for. If you request just the room number and that particular room isn't available, the room assigner won't be able to check for something comparable as he/she won't know why you wanted that particular room. Hope you have a great trip, WL CL is amazing :wizard:.

I was seeing some posts about texting for Fastpass+ but can't seem to follow the thread. Anyone willing to explain?

Oh, forgot to mention, when it comes to making ADRs you'll find varying opinions.

Here's my breakdown:

Over 180 days, I tell the IPO what I want. If we do this, we get everything we want, at exactly the times we want (or very close).
Less than 180 days, I've looked up options on my own, because you are correct, there is often a judgment call to be made: different day, different time, different location? If there's something I can't get, then I ask IPO to try and add it.

Then, for us, well, we're not all that hung up on ADR's any more. The food quality just isn't there. It's gone downhill again.

I'm not quite sure I understand the giving up control part your thought process. Over the 180 day mark, the IPO's get first dibs. At least that's my take based on the experience I've had. Maybe as a TA you get access that we don't get, but I've had better luck using the IPO than booking my own ADR's at the 180 day mark. It's also far less effort on my part to fill out the form.

As for FP....I did book our FP's myself the last few trips. Partly it was because FP's involve judgment calls, partly it was to make sure the system worked (not a given), and partly it was just to learn how the options work. I also don't recall getting a form from the IPO about FP requests, but maybe I missed it.

If I knew Janice was on the job, I'd totally trust her to book our FP's! Especially Epcot, HS, and AK, where the choices are very easy.

Janice was fast for us too! On a side note as I got off the elevator at GF I noticed the cm getting on with a Janice name tag. So I asked her if she was my texting buddy? Yep! She has the smile to match the sentiment in her texts. She was happy to meet someone too! She thinks it is working good so far and the feedback has been mostly positive.

Wow! We would have loved to have met her in person! I would have loved to have thanked her in person and to ask her a few questions...She seemed enthusiastic, and happy when she was able to get what we wanted.

what else would you like to know?

We are arriving late, just wondering if any food would still be available? We'll probably be starving.

I guess room service isn't included?!?

We could only get a late flight..seems like our first night is a waste, but we don't want to move rooms.

Thanks,
Bfrosty

I don't have an answer to your question, but we are doing the same thing. Landing late and still paying for CL because we don't want to move rooms.

The CL lounges close at 10 pm, so everything will be put away by the time you arrive. We've never done room service, but I think that would be available, although it would be an extra cost as room service is not included in the cost of a CL room.

I don't blame you for booking the same room category even though you're getting in late. We always do that whether we stay CL or not as we like getting settled and waking up the next morning ready to go instead of having to check out and change rooms. It does add cost (especially when staying CL), but for us it's worth it not to have to move ;).

Has anyone that arrives late asked IPO to stock the room with some snacks and beverages for a late night arrival? Like a cheese plate with fruit and some water and wine? We land at MCO at 9:20 so definitely won't get there in time to grab a snack? Just wondering if anyone has done that?

Yes, we were told they will put anything that they have on hand in the room. The exception is that if you have minors in your room (no matter if it's a 6 month old baby) they can not put in any alcohol. Now this was at WL, not sure if it's the same policy every where

awesome good to know!! i can forgo a glass of wine at night!! ;)

Just returned home from our first taste of CL - due to a room concern when we checked in at AKL, we were upgraded to CL. Ahhh that was lovely, but very sad we really couldn't enjoy it b/c our trip was short and almost no time was spent at the resort. But DH and my girls (seriously they're 7 and 6, why does it matter? lol) are in love with CL and won't stay anywhere else now! (I won't complain too loudly lol)

Our next trip is booked BC CL, now it's time to go back and see what I should know. I'm so excited about this trip! :goodvibes

Our first CL stay was a club level upgrade at cr in 2011. You do get hooked!!!

I keep calling my mom at home from the lounge to tell her how nice it is.

I call her to tell her what wonderful desserts at night there are.

I tell her how how I love the welcome chocolates.

Finally I asked her if she thought she wanted to go on a mom and me trip to disney. (We used to do that until I got married). I stalked orbitz and finally got stackable discounts with a credit I had from earlier this year. You guessed it! I am talking her CLUB LEVEL:cool1:

I have stayed at gf/cr/poly CL's and thought all she would enjoy but I finally decided on Poly. Even with construction I think for what we will do this one is the best. :lovestruc

Yeah, for sure you can get hooked!! :thumbsup2 Disney knows what they're doing when they upgrade people to CL! ;) My sis and I love it and when we can swing it, we book it! :)

Who do you text and what do you text?

I do wish that they would allow you to use the app to do all the fastpasses. Between my hubby's phone and mine, we always had an app working.

Never tried.

We did notice that YC had snacks out past 10pm, the night we arrived late. It was not much, just like trail mix and gummy bears.

Many CL's (not sure which one you are) leave the fruit basket out over night :apples, oranges and banana. (though late at night it tends to be mostly just apples and maybe oranges. They are not great fresh fruit, just what we like to call industrial-style fruit.

Also, many CL's have a drink cooler they stock with soft drinks. They don't restock it over night, but they fill it near 10pm. So you would get whatever is left.

Often, desserts run out, or some pretty close at 10pm, so likely they wouldn't have much left over. Other times I've seen staff really offer food to guests near 10pm, because they can't reserve it. Depends o the staff. Some are eager to leave at (near) 10pm, others are happy to serve guests until 10pm.

WL was very strict about closing when we were there.

When you arrive, staff will give you the texting information.

It's very simple. You can text fast pass requests, or (more or less) anything that you wish to ask staff. Like how to get some place, show times, park hours, etc.

For fast pass requests, you can do it however you like. You can ask for a specific attraction, or you could ask for a specific time frame, or you can be very generic. The more generic your request, the more likely you are to get a FP, but you also may end up with a low demand FP.

The CM will text back, saying what is available. You then let the CM know if you want what they have found. Once you say yes, they text you back with the attraction and time. That's it. When you get to the attraction, just scan your band.

Usually we had our next FP in 2 or 3 texts.

That's exactly what I told DH. Though I wonder what they're gonna upgrade us to now? :rotfl2:

I'm really looking forward to the whole package this time.

I always do both. IPO and CRO. I don't think it could hurt to cover both bases, and lately I've also been experimenting with online check-in. I never thought it was necessary for CL stays but our last two trips we've had PERFECT rooms that we loved by doing online check-in. :goodvibes

If you do online check-in and staying CL, I assume you have to go to the online check-in desk in lieu of checking in upstairs (staying at the BC)? Any other pros/cons of checking in online? We're not arriving after hours (probably be there about 1 PM on our check-in day).

TIA!

I always do online check in.

For my CL stay in August at cr I had the new streamlined check in. I was met as I exited the ME bus with a Cm with a tablet. I was asked a few questions and check in was done. I was offered to be escorted up to the lounge but dd and I preferred to take the pathway right into MK instead.

We were told we would receive a text when our room was ready. Then at 2:30-3pm we got back to cr and took the elevator to the 12th floor (unescorted and our MB's worked). As we walked by the cm desk I asked if was much longer for our room. It was ready and they gave me the room number. That was very easy!

In the past for other online checkin that were not the new streamlined check in I would just announce I was checking in CL to the valets outside. They call for a cm to escort you up to CL lounge and desk.

I wouldn't be intimidated by the streamlined check in. Just announce outside you are checking in to CL and see what they do. If you want or need to talk to the CL concierges just either ask to see them or stop by the desk yourself.

Oh 10 minutes after we were in room a CL concierge brought our usual paperwork right to our room. That was so much easier than sitting and waiting for a turn at the desk.:thumbsup2
