Yup. The 30/60/90 strategy on disney cc that some people have posted is not a bad plan either.
This was my original plan....with Disneyland Tower in a few years.

Best of luck with your house hunting/buying![]()
Yeah im trying to look at all the least expensive finance options with buying direct. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet since I have a BLT contract currently in ROFR. I plan to put a deposit tomorrow for RIV direct so I dont lose out on the current incentives and hope I get my ROFR decision before the rescision period ends. This was my original plan....with Disneyland Tower in a few years.
Thank you. That is very useful information to have! I was wondering why he seemed to be difficult when the lady on the phone last week was all pixie dust and rainbows.![]()
dont do it to me lolYou’d essentially be getting that 100-point CCV for only $170/point, though!

I bought Thursday right before they closed. Points loaded Friday and I called and got them banked. This morning I logged in and booked a room for March. All of that and I still haven’t signed the papers yet. Try and talk to someone else
Now I have to figure out how to get this paperwork notarized. I have gone to my bank in the past, but it's "temporarily closed." I don't think it's due to Covid, because our numbers are lower now than the last time I went in to the branch. Maybe air quality, but they work inside??
Buy direct, they said. Super easy, they said.![]()
Ah, I guess we should have qualified “super super easy if paying cash.” My guide has mentioned that they had great offers for 1 year, but I didn’t even ask because I didn’t want to deal with getting it notarized. And I wanted my 2% back with 6 months 0% interest on my Disney VISA.Now I have to figure out how to get this paperwork notarized. I have gone to my bank in the past, but it's "temporarily closed." I did post elsewhere that I may have an addonitis problem... ;-)dont do it to me lol
This was my strategy as well! Except I’m squinting real hard at my existing credit cards and hoping one of them will give me a 0% balance transfer offer without me needing to open another credit card. I’m trying to get below the 5/24 rule so I can get the new Chase Flex Freedom card to add to my Chase Ultimate Rewards Cards collection (sadly while it has a 0% purchase offer it doesn’t have a 0% balance transfer option).Yeah i've always considered getting a disney visa for that express purpose - getting the 0% for 6 months, then transferring to a 12-18 month 0% card... but hmmm that's tempting.
Though now of course I’m wondering if I should switch to my Sapphire Reserve for 3% back on travel, since I have to pay some of it off sooner to be able to put it all on my card. Does anyone know if Disney direct DVC purchases still code as travel?
I think its 5.45% for the 1 year for more seasoned DVC members per Where’s Piglets post.Ah, I guess we should have qualified “super super easy if paying cash.” My guide has mentioned that they had great offers for 1 year, but I didn’t even ask because I didn’t want to deal with getting it notarized. That said, I should’ve asked my guide about the 1 year offer. Does anyone know what the interest rate is for existing members (more than 1 year)? Wondering if it would be worth it to switch my RIV to part down on my CC then the remainder on the loan. Assuming the stock market continues as is, I expect I’ll make more keeping my money in investments than that interest rate so it might be worth it to consider the 1 year loan.
Thats good to hear that it still codes as travel. I was planning to put my deposit on my Chase Reserve.Yes. I used my Chase Sapphire Reserve card last week for direct purchase. My statement shows that the category is travel and that I received 3x points. That was also my first travel purchase since my card anniversary so I received an additional $300 off.

So I see people talking about getting 2019 points on a direct purchase. How does that work? If I were to buy riviera this week I would somehow get 2019 points? Wouldn’t they expire before I got a chance to use them? I thought they had to be banked well in advance.
