We're going to DW in June and staying at PO-Riverside. I just found out yesterday that I need surgery before we go, and will not be able to use my right hand (I'm not ambidexterous and very klutzy with my left hand, so this is really going to be an experience). We're not changing the dates of our trip, I've been often and will be going again, so even if all I can do is sit on a park bench I'll just love being there. But I'm wondering about others' experiences with PO-Riverside and their willingness to help those who are temporarily impared.

Welcome.
I'm not sure what type of help you will need, so ask more questions if this answer isn't what you are looking for.
If you are asking whether the CMs there will bring your bags to your room for you, the answer is yes.
The food court is sometimes quite busy. If you go at an "off" time, there will be less people, but also less CMs working. If you are with someone else, it may work best for you to pick out your food and have the other person purchase it for you while you find a table.
There are door openers on the doors that enter and exit the main building (where check in, the food court, the shop, etc are). You may have to look for them a little; they are usually a silver colored button about the size of a salad plate with a blue wheelchair symbol on them at about waist level.

If you ask for help in a nice way, they are almost always able to help you. Let other people handle the carrying and lugging, you take care of yourself and take it easy. If you are in a lot of pain, or are taking pain meds, you should consider getting a GAC, to help the CMs know that you will need to sit in shady areas and may need assistance. Click on the link in my signature, you will find information about that. It is useful not only in the parks, but at the resorts, parking areas and restaurants as well - it is a visual way to alert them that you need extra assistance.

Thanks so much for this info. I didn't know this type of thing existed. Hopefully, I won't need it, but it's so helpful to know it does exist if I need it.
