Expedition Everest 5K/Scavenger hunt question

For run Disney events, are there ever any openings after the event sells out? I had surgery last fall and waited for a doctor clearance to participate, now I am too late with registration and it is sold out.

Any help/information would be appreciated.

you can sometimes buy a registration from someone who can't make it. They are not supposed to be transferable but I have seem people do it. Other than that, spaces do not open up for cancelled registrations at a later date so if they are sold out, not really any chance unless you want to pretend to be someone else.

It's unlikely that you will even be able to transfer. Part of the way people did it was they would sell/give away their race bib and set the purchaser as an 'authorized packet pickup person' Disney now requires that all participants pick up their own bib. So someone selling would still have to pick it up and then give it to you.

So they no longer let someone have a copy of the persons DL and let them pick up a packet? I did not know that.

The races are oversold by a lot in my opinion, so it behooves them to get as many people out of the race if they are not showing up. The Everest one was not that bad last year though.

Some travel providers and charities still have Expedition Everest bibs. Last year I believe the only charity was Noah's Light. They don't list the travel providers or charities for this event but check Noah's Light.

Sorry to commandeer the thread but it has me wondering -- how quickly does this (or any) runDisney race sell out? Are we talking months, weeks, days, hours after registration opens?

A friend of mine had no trouble picking up someone else's bib with the person's DL in November at Wine and Dine.

It depends on the race. Some of them sell out in hours. In general, you want to be ready as soon as registration opens.

So, you are saying this is the last year they are doing the scavenger hunt? If so, I so mad! I have tried for two years to get this and every time it is sold out.

DL avengers sold out in 45 mins from what I read. I was on line the moment it opened got my 5k ordered. went to school checked by noon and was told with in the hour it had been sold out. I was glad I got mine early that morning.
If you want to race, be ready to pay for it right away.

OP i hope you will find some thing. I have heard of a few being able to give there place to others.
