Is this a nightmare? It's the only show on a Sat night in Nov, with AM EMHs, so I assume that the park will be crowded that day and that many people will do what we will--leave right after the show rather than stay until the 8 p.m. close.

I'm not sure how long the 6:30 pm. show lasts, but we will leave right after to unpack and get kids in bed at a decent time because we have a pre-opening character breakfast the next day. Also not sure how long the bus will take from HS to either CR or GF.

Was so happy to have snagged the Fantasmic! Dinner Package that I didn't think about whether it's too late for the kids (7 and 4). First timer here.

Thanks!

1. That show will be over at 6:58PM.

2. Figure it will take about 60-75 minutes of total travel time (including leaving the theater and DHS park) to get back to a WDW resort after the show.

It's nothing like the madhouse of leaving MK at night.

It is a bunch of people after F!, but I personally love the look of Sunset Blvd lit up at night after Fantasmic!

Dan

And some people will head over to see the Osborne Lights and some will be going to try to catch a few rides before closing but yes it is very likely gonna be crowded exiting.I prefer to wait until most of the crowd has left the area instead of being in a stampede(exaggeration) ;)

They actually have you leave on the side of the theater, and you come out right near the entrance of the park. Your main issue may be catching a bus back the the hotel.

This is news to me.
When did you last attend Fantasmic?

Not the original poster but I've always taken the side path (it runs behind the buildings). Last time I did it was in October and there were actual CM's pointing out the way.

We find just staying in the theater for 15 minutes or so after the end of the show makes for easy exit. Once you start to exit, as harleys mom said above, you can take a back walkway on down to Oscar's Garage area near the park entrance, and exit easily on over to the buses.

Enjoy.

Yes.

I usually make it down to Sunset Blvd and stop at the smoking area across the street for a smoke break and wait for the people to clear out. I can only tolerate feeling like a head of cattle for so long.

I'm not questioning the "side" exit path.
They've had that for years.

My question is regarding the "you come out right near the entrance of the park"
statement.

OH I see, you come out in the courtyard in between the beginning of the main street and the turnstiles.

So not right at the entrance but maybe a 30 second walk to the exit. It's still crowded but you can scoot out and beat a lot of the BLVD crowd.

Of course I usually go in OCT, so not summer crowd level at all.

Last time I saw Fantasmic I didn't have a child!
I see on the map, a stroller parking area. Is it hard to get back to the stroller parking to retrieve the stroller then to exit?

Yes, down Perimeter Road to Prospect Ave, around the corner of Oscar's and dumps you right at the Crossroads of the World entrance.

Not really. We were there with a stroller a month or so ago. Again, best advice is to wait 10 minutes or so, letting the masses exit, and then walk out without the crowds. Lots of strollers, make sure to mark somehow, and lock.

I was definitely going to mark the stroller but I thought you couldn't lock it to anything?

I have seen people mention this every now and then for years. I obviously have no luck at all because I have NEVER come out in that spot. I always end up on the path that feels miles long and yet gets you nowhere. It comes out right next to Beauty and the Beast. :confused3

You can't lock it to anything, but there are locks made to lock the back wheels together so that they can't roll. The CMs can still move the stroller by tipping it up on its front wheels, but the idea is that a thief isn't likely to want to steal a stroller that he can't get away with quickly.

Yes, my daughter uses this, works great. She just loops it through one or both wheels and the frame of the stroller.

Hi everyone,

my experiences, i always do the last fantasmic of the night, but thatmeans when your coming out the park is usually closd unless its a EMH night.

just because the park is closed dosnt mean the shops are, i usually head inside one of the shops and just have a real long look around, check CM pin lanyards and do pin trading during this time, its nice way of letting to crowds get past you and then when you leave your not being hurded with the group.

yes this somtimes means a little wait for the bus back to the resort, on the way out of the parks they have some soda machines, i usually grab myself a cold drink and just relax and let the world go by and then when the crowds begin to die down i jump on a bus.

its harder when you have younger children with you who dont want to wait and/or are tired.

i travel just me and my wife no children so it is easier for us to do this but it really de-stresses a late evening and stops me and my wife getting overly tired and having too much going on around us.

the disney shops and busses run pretty late after the park closes and ive never like almost missed the last one or anything, they normally are running until all guests have left the parks.

this is just my experiences, may not work for everyone but ive never had a bad fantasmic night.

We call the mass exit, controlled craziness! It can be very crowed and I lost DH once during it so hang on to kids for dear life. In reality it is really not that bad. Some people do return to parks, and bus drives know when the show is out so there are extra buses waiting and it is often quicker to get a bus than a non show exit. If you do want to get a bit of ahead of the crowd, sit toward the top and more toward the exit.

Just a word of warning to the OP: My younger 2 were very frightened by Fantasmic the first time we saw it. (They were 5 and 8 at the time.) It got to where my husband had to take them out, they were that frightened.

Take a look at the youtube videos before you commit to seeing it. And, if you do decide to see it, know that the seats right up front are particularly frightening to kids, since the fire is very close.

And, if the crowds are a concern, just sit. Relax. Don't try to lead the pack out, just hang out and let the crowd get in front of you.
