Hey Lisa,
I got behind in your TR but am all caught up now. Your anniversary trip looked fun. Way to go on the hole in one! You should try one of the Disney mini-golf courses. We went to Winter-Summerland during our trip in May and it was SO much fun! They played Christmas music on the course and had Christmas lights strung up.

I love the thie pics of y'all dancing at the pirate party. You were truly making magical memories!

I'm really enjoying your trip report so far and am now trying to convince dh that we should do a land/sea trip next year. I had thought my teenager (also named Hunter) wouldn't be into it but reading how much your son liked it I feel a lil more confident that he just might have a good time.

I am so glad to hear you guys are OK. I have been thinking of you. We are due to get rain from issaac in the next few days. We had a very cloudy, but hot day yesterday, they said the clouds were from issaac making his way here. It's amazing how far he reaches.

Glad you guys are okay! I've heard similar stories from my friends in Hattiesburg. They actually closed the Clinic I worked at on Tuesday this past week! Doctors don't like to close for ANYTHING, so that was a big deal. My friend who still works there said on Wednesday, they had a total of 12 patients in their department of 6 doctors. Those 6 doctors usually see about 20 patients EACH a day… Nobody wants to get out in that mess!!!

I watched the weather channel so much and had to make myself turn it off. The people down in South Louisiana and Mississippi lost so much. I spoke with our friend in Mobile and my niece in Pensacola and, thankfully, they didn't get as much damage as expected either.


John doesn't normally get as wild and loose as Hunter and I but he certainly did at the pirate party.

Issac is still sticking around but it's still not as bad as we had thought it would be. I sure hope that ya'll don't get super bad weather. We definitely needed the rain too. There's been a burn ban around here for what seems like forever.

The general thought in my neck of Alabama is that we dodged that bullet, but I know some of our more rural citizens wish the rain had made it, much like you do. But we're doing our part to help: we've had a lot of evacuees from our coast, Mississippi and Louisianna.

DH and I are much like John: neither of us get very wild or loose. My excuse is I was raised Presbyterian, and the joke is Presbyterians are "God's frozen chosen." And we're both natural born observers.

Glad to hear you guys didn't get too much damage from Isaac. They said we were supposed to get remnants from it here in NY this weekend but nothing yet.

How awesome that you got a hole in one! I get one every so often but mostly I am pretty bad at mini golf. You really should try the ones at Disney, I have done the one at Blizzard Beach a couple times, it's really fun.

You guys looked like you had a great time at the dance party!

Back on and caught up now. We lost power for 24 hrs., but thanks to the generator had fans, lights, and the frig! Then I didn't have internet for a while after that. We had a big family reunion at Toledo Bend over the weekend, so I was really glad the weather moved on out and didn't mess that up.
Loved the Pirate party pics - I would have enjoyed that. But Mama, don't interrupt a boy when he is actually on stage singing!!

Hey ya'll! I'm sorry that I have posted replies yet or another installment. Work at work and work at home has kept us busy as beavers.

We spent the Labor Day weekend working around the house. It seems like we've been doing that forever and a day now.

I don't know if I mentioned it earlier but we live in a log home and, every five years or so, we put new sealer on the logs, bleach out the cedar trim and then restain it. It's a long process because you have to let the wood dry after you wash it off, re-bleach if it's not the color you want, etc etc etc. Then, Hurricane Issac decided to make an appearance and that put off working on anything that wasn't under roof.

Anyway, the outside re-do has been going on for about a month now and we're almost done. We have the front porch (wooden) all done, the logs on the front, one end and almost all of the back is done. We ran out of sealer Monday afternoon so we are waiting on that to come in so we can finish up the log portion of the house. After that, all we have to do is put the cedar sealer on the porch posts, one gable end and the rafters on the back porch.

In my spare time, as if I have any, guess what I did. Ya'll through guessing?












































































I booked my Mama's vacation to Walt Disney World! Yep, she's going with us again next year so long as her eye surgery goes well and there are no complications. Wait.....that's not all of the good news. Lacey & Jesse are meeting us there too! They will only be there for a week while the rest of us will be there 11 days. To say that we are excited is an understatement! Can you just imagine what sorts of hijinks we are going to get into come May, 2013?

Sometimes the more the merrier at Disney. I say sometimes because we just did a big multi-people trip last year and are REALLY looking forward to it being just DH and myself.
