Hey everybody! I only have a minute to chat...type...you know what I mean. North Louisiana has been really lucky in that we haven't had a whole lot of damage so far. We are having some wind gusts and rain but nothing horrible like they were predicting. My sister had a tree fall on her deck and it busted through the roof of the covered area of the deck. Our neighbor has a pine tree down in her yard. There are limbs and leaves everywhere and some residents are without power.

They announced yesterday that they would close the schools "just in case" the weather got really bad. Local government buildings and some other businesses were closed today as well. Guess where I am? AT WORK! Yep, even though the courthouse, the District Attorney's office, the Civil Sheriff's Office, Child Support Office and State Office Building are all closed, our little one attorney/one paralegal law office is up and running. We've had a total of four phone calls today, with two of them being telemarketers, one of them a wrong number and one a return call.

Oh well, at least I am able to get caught up on my filing and typing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we will leave early. Notice I didn't say holding my breath 'cause I know better. You'd probably find me passed out from lack of oxygen!

For those of you who asked about our welfare....THANK YOU! For those of you in the path of Issac, batten down the hatches, stay dry and be safe!

We ended up leaving around 3:00 today. Wait, I'll rephrase that. He left at 2:35 and told me to finish up what I was doing and then leave. You ought to have seen my fingers flying across the keyboard. I was finished up in no time at all.

It's still raining but not hard, mostly showers and/or hard showers. The wind is still blowing on and off.

I watched the weather channel so much and had to make myself turn it off. The people down in South Louisiana and Mississippi lost so much. I spoke with our friend in Mobile and my niece in Pensacola and, thankfully, they didn't get as much damage as expected either.

I have no idea what the boss was thinking. You know bosses...always afraid they are going to lose a dollar.

John doesn't normally get as wild and loose as Hunter and I but he certainly did at the pirate party.

Issac is still sticking around but it's still not as bad as we had thought it would be. I sure hope that ya'll don't get super bad weather. We definitely needed the rain too. There's been a burn ban around here for what seems like forever.

We had a great time at the party! Hunter thought that Vibe was the greatest things since sliced cheese. I quickly forgave him once he explained why he hung up on me.

It has not caused too much trouble for us. The way that it stayed more over LA kept the rains from us. And, if it continues through the Ohio River Valley, like they've been predicting, looks as if we'll miss most of everything.
