Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

I loved your photos of Castaway Cay!!! I'm curious to read your next update with that title! :rotfl:
:cool1: That is great that Mama, Lacey & Jesse are joining you next year!!!

That beach looks divine! Makes me want to go on a cruise myself :goodvibes

The beach was absolutely beautiful!

Hi Lisa! Great update! I am so with you on not being able to sit still too long!! This is why I continue to go back to WDW!!! I just can't see myself on some island sitting there sunbathing all day! To me, that is BORING!!! :lmao: But to each their own! Can't wait to for the next update. From the title it seem a bit interesting!!! :surfweb:

I just can't sit still for very long. I keep thinking about all there is to see and do while I'm lazing around.

Cay being pronounced key is one of those wired words in the english langue its' also like it's cousin Quay wich is also pronounced key.

Apparently according to Wikipedia a Cay is an island essentially a large sand bar built up over time.

The other one spelt Quay is a British english word for a dock for a ship

Interesting! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Castaway Cay looks so beautiful! Love all of the pictures that you got.

Sounds like CC was a hit for you guys (right?)! I'm glad that you were enjoying it.

Castaway Cay was very beautiful! We had a great time on the island.

This is the part of a Disney Cruise that I would enjoy the most, an private island....ahhh! Love the update Lisa keep em coming!

I'm not really a beach person but the beaches on Castaway Cay were gorgeous!

Where were all the teenagers?! Were they back on the boat??:confused3

Hunter said that there he and two castmembers were the only ones there. :confused3

Lovin the beach...So peaceful. So the water was cold in the summer too then...It was cold in April as well. brr...but we got used to it.

I just hada thought. It was early in the morning, right? Well, they're teenagers, right? They were all still asleep on the boat!! Hunter was just mobile enough to make it to the hammocks!!

Personally, I don't do beaches: I'm fair skinned and unless I screen up every 20 minutes, I'm a lobster.

Great Update!!

We never did figure out why there weren't any teenagers in the teen only portion of the island. You may have hit the nail on the head with your thoughts.

I'm fair skinned too and hardly ever get any sort of tan. I slather up on the sunscreen like crazy!

Woo Hoo for booking next year's trip! :cool1: That's awesome.

Woo Hoo for a new update where I am reading at home to see pictures. :cool1: That's even more awesome. Well, for me anyway. :rotfl:

So that was the view from your porthole? Nice. Starboard side? Please tell me yes because I had my TA switch my room to the Starboard side. I am so excited I can hardly stand it and my cruise is eons away.

Sounds like its shaping up to be a wonderful day on CC. Can't wait to see what crawled up someones back side and what you had for lunch (not necessarily in that order :rotfl:)

The view from our porthole was amazing! I loved it and we considered it the next best thing to having an verandah. Oh goodness, you are talking to the wrong person about suggestions what side of the boat to choose. I'm thinking we were starboard but I'll look at my pictures when I get home to make sure I'm right.

The backside crawling comes first and the food comes immediately after that. ;)

Hey Lisa,

We loved Castaway Cay. So relaxing. We also got off on the second stop and we enjoyed the beach so much.

Glad y'all didn't get to much from Hurricane Isaac. We finally got our power back on Monday evening. Almost a week without power  Luckily we didn't have any damage at home, but they did have some damage in our area.

The first beach was already getting busy when we rode by it so I'm glad that we went on to the next stop.

Oh my gosh! That's a long time to be without power especially in Louisiana where it's hotter than heck!

Just before reading your update I was reading this: GigaPan of Castaway Cay

I've had no interest in cruising but I sure would love to enjoy this private island some day.

Thanks for the link! Very pretty! Initially, we thought we would never want to cruise again but I'm thinking there will be another cruise in our future.

Great update! Love beaches!! Dying for Castaway Cay! That is all :goodvibes

Castaway Cay was breathtakingly beautiful!

I loved your photos of Castaway Cay!!! I'm curious to read your next update with that title! :rotfl:
:cool1: That is great that Mama, Lacey & Jesse are joining you next year!!!

I'm hoping to get the next installment up soon so that you can see exactly where the next title's name came from.

We are beyond excited that the whole gang is going to Disney next year!

Lovin the beach...So peaceful. So the water was cold in the summer too then...It was cold in April as well. brr...but we got used to it.

Everybody who went into the water commented on the temperature of the water. It was pretty cold first thing in the morning but, like you, we got used to it.

Sounds like you put the "labor" in Labor Day weekend!:rotfl2: Always feels good when you're DONE with those projects tho.

That is so great that the whole family is going on vacation next year. I gotta tell you you're starting something wonderful!! :goodvibes We've just added the in-laws and babies as they came along and now we all go (all 13 of us) and we love it!! No better place for a family reunion!!

That's awesome that the whole gang will be back at WDW next year!

You've been busy! As eager as I am to hear more about your most recent trip, I think you've earned some time off! Take a break!

awesome!!!!!

Hi Lisa!!! Yay!! I am so excited for you that your Mama, Lacey & Jesse will be going on your trip as well!!! :cool1:  :dance3: It will be here before you know it!! LOL!

YAY!!! :cool1: I'm excited! The gang will all be back again!!!!

Lisa I'm so excited for you I know how happy you must be that you will have mama, and Lacey and Jesse. Sounds like fun times!

So glad momma, Jesse and Lacey will be joining you on next year's trip

Woo Hoo!!!!! The whole crew will be together at Disney!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks ya'll! We are all so super excited that we'll all be together in one of the happiest places on Earth! Mama is worried that she won't be able to walk all day long but she doesn't want to have to rent a scooter unless she just has to. We told her that we had enough able bodied folks that we could just get a wheelchair and push her if she got too tired or if her feet bothered her.

I was a bit behind, but I'm so excited to read that

party: Mama, Lacey and Jesse party: are all planning on joining you for the May trip.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I'm also really happy to hear that you made it through the storm pretty well.

And now, back to the report-

Congrats on your hole in one at Pirate Golf. I love that everyone playing was chatting and socializing to help pass the time.

I'm gonna cut Hunter lots and lots of slack for hanging up on you. If my teen would dance with me or my husband instead of rolling his eyes and pretending he his parents don't exist, then I would be fine with him hanging up on me in an attempt to attain his American Idol Championship status.

That's a fine boy you have there!

We are all so happy that we'll all be together in Walt Disney World!

We ended up laughing at the reason Hunter hung up on me. After he explained, we certainly forgave him. I'm really lucky that both of my children like to hang out with us "old" guys. There is very little eye rolling going on. Well, except for when we do something extremely odd and then we are all rolling our eyes. :lmao:

I have co- worker who has a log home and she was just moaning about how long it was taking to get her house resealed. They also had to replace 2 logs as some kind of bug tunneled in.

YAY! The family next year, should be good time.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Oh my gosh! I can't imagine having to replace the logs. Our logs look like this:

logcorner.jpg

and there are 10 inch long screws every two or three feet per log. I know that it'd be a big pain in the backside to replace even a little section of the logs. In Louisiana, we have tons of bugs and I'm a little on the paranoid side in watching what might land or crawl on my house. We are constantly spraying insecticide around the outside of the house.

Yay for your upcoming trip!!!!! That's so exciting!!!

Castaway Cay/Key looks beautiful! I get antsy just sitting around on the beach too - I know what you mean!

I get antsy sitting around for very long whether it's at the beach, the resort, a park or just about anywhere. I'm a go-go-go kinda gal.

Your pictures always tell the story so well, Lisa! I think Castaway Cay looks bigger than I imagined it was. Also looks like there's lots to do. A little something for everyone! Nice relaxing day so far! Know what you mean about sitting on the beach. I can only do it for short periods of time then I have to get up and at least walk the beach.

Thank you! I am not quite sure what I was thinking Castaway Cay was going to look like but it was absolutely beautiful!

What a lovely quiet start to Castaway Cay! How lovely!! Interesting that there weren't any teens there, I'll be curious to see if that changed as the day went on as that wasn't Kendall's experience at all.

It really is Paradise there isn't it!

Dozing in a hammock or a lounger after a late pirate night sounds pretty good too!

Love the bathroom pics, I thought they were adorable but didn't take a single picture of them, go figure.

Hunter went to the teen area two or three times and I think the most people he ever saw were four people. Isn't that crazy?!

I couldn't believe that I remembered to take pictures of the bathrooms but totally forgot about the kids' play area and the shop.

Back on and caught up now. We lost power for 24 hrs., but thanks to the generator had fans, lights, and the frig! Then I didn't have internet for a while after that. We had a big family reunion at Toledo Bend over the weekend, so I was really glad the weather moved on out and didn't mess that up.
Loved the Pirate party pics - I would have enjoyed that. But Mama, don't interrupt a boy when he is actually on stage singing!! :cool1:

I'm so glad to hear that it didn't get too terribly bad down your way.

We had a wonderful time at the pirate party. It was a highlight of the cruise.

I loved your last update! I'm very glad to hear that you guys are all ok after Isaac & that you didn't get too much damage.

Thanks April!

Glad to hear you guys didn't get too much damage from Isaac. They said we were supposed to get remnants from it here in NY this weekend but nothing yet.

How awesome that you got a hole in one! I get one every so often but mostly I am pretty bad at mini golf. You really should try the ones at Disney, I have done the one at Blizzard Beach a couple times, it's really fun.

You guys looked like you had a great time at the dance party!

So did the weather get bad in your neck of the woods? I hope not!

I think we may give the Disney mini-golf courses a try on our next trip.

The general thought in my neck of Alabama is that we dodged that bullet, but I know some of our more rural citizens wish the rain had made it, much like you do. But we're doing our part to help: we've had a lot of evacuees from our coast, Mississippi and Louisianna.

DH and I are much like John: neither of us get very wild or loose. My excuse is I was raised Presbyterian, and the joke is Presbyterians are "God's frozen chosen." And we're both natural born observers.

Oh I hadn't ever heard that saying! I love it! John was raised Assembly of God and the only time they let loose is in church and that's only some really loud Amens, clapping and a bit of shuffling when the sermon is really good.

Loved the dancing pics!! Looked like you guys were having such a good time :)
Also LOOOOVED the Bohemian Rhapsody story! BAHAHAHAHA!!! silly teens! Did you find out if he won???

Hunter never did say if he won or not. I need to ask him!

Love your trip reports and so excited I found this one! You guys always look like you are having so much fun!!

Welcome! I'm glad to have you here!

Glad you guys are okay! I've heard similar stories from my friends in Hattiesburg. They actually closed the Clinic I worked at on Tuesday this past week! Doctors don't like to close for ANYTHING, so that was a big deal. My friend who still works there said on Wednesday, they had a total of 12 patients in their department of 6 doctors.:headache: Those 6 doctors usually see about 20 patients EACH a day… Nobody wants to get out in that mess!!!

I have a cousin who lives in Hattiesburg and they were hunkered down for a while but that it didn't get too terribly bad.

My boss doesn't like to close for anything but when you are a lawyer and the courthouse, the District Atty., the Civil Sheriff and Child Support Offices close down, then we are a bit limited on what we can get done.

Yay! Glad to know it really was you and I'm not crazy!:yay:
Next time I promise to say something to you!!!

I'm really enjoying your trip report so far and am now trying to convince dh that we should do a land/sea trip next year. I had thought my teenager (also named Hunter) wouldn't be into it but reading how much your son liked it I feel a lil more confident that he just might have a good time.

I'll be glad when the rest of this hurricane weather moves on outta here
Dunno about you but I got drenched this morning coming to work:eek:

You definitely weren't going crazy! I usually get all of my errands run on the weekend so if you see me out and about, just flag me down.

Hunter absolutely loved Vibe and the shows on the cruise ship. There was plenty to keep him entertained.

Hey Lisa,
I got behind in your TR but am all caught up now. Your anniversary trip looked fun. Way to go on the hole in one! You should try one of the Disney mini-golf courses. We went to Winter-Summerland during our trip in May and it was SO much fun! They played Christmas music on the course and had Christmas lights strung up.

I love the thie pics of y'all dancing at the pirate party. You were truly making magical memories! :)

Have a good weekend!

We are going to try and work the Disney mini-golf courses into our next trip but I don't know which course we want to try.

We definitely made some magical memories. It's not often that we get to cut loose like we did at the party.

:cheer2:pixiedust: Yay for Mama, Lacey and Jesse coming to WDW, even if it's not the whole time :goodvibes

Good luck finishing with the house, sounds like a lot of work. Maybe you can post a picture of part of it once your done?

Sometimes the more the merrier at Disney. I say sometimes because we just did a big multi-people trip last year and are REALLY looking forward to it being just DH and myself.

You guys all together in one trip....yay!!! I cannot wait for that trip report :thumbsup2. On a side note I have always loved the idea of living in log house but good grief I didn't realize all the hard work you have to put into it, I have a new found respect for log house homeowners now :)

Great news!!!

Like I posted in the "reveal" post, we are beyond excited to have another family trip planned! I'm looking into doing something offsite on one of our "down days" but am not quite sure what it will be. I'm thinking maybe a Florida swamp tour.

Hunter went to the teen area two or three times and I think the most people he ever saw were four people. Isn't that crazy?!

I couldn't believe that I remembered to take pictures of the bathrooms but totally forgot about the kids' play area and the shop.

I may have done the opposite :rotfl: It will be a while before I get to that part of the TR though so I'm honestly not sure.

K had made some meeting arrangements I think, and we lucked out with one family who had a daughter K had already made friends with as they'd chosen loungers right in front of us on the family beach so that made it easy. She was off either playing volleyball or soccer most of the time, the sand soccer was on the schedule though and I think that helped people connect up and go from there?

Lisa, the last three posts are hilarious! I loved seeing the pics of y'all bustin your move! :thumbsup2

And Castaway K looks, well....like an island! LOL The view from where you were sitting was really pretty. :) Sounds like father like son when it comes to the sleeping thing, at least while you were on Castaway K. :teeth:

I'm curious what y'all found to eat! :goodvibes

Just read your intro, and I'm smiling and laughing already! Can't wait to get started!:)

Such great news that Mama, Lacey and Jesse will be joining you on your next trip!!:cool1:

Loved your last update!! Castaway Cay looks so beautiful and soooo relaxing!!:thumbsup2

That private island sure is beautiful!!

It's funny, my husband John is the same way about drinking. He usually doesn't drink at home but when we go to WDW he always orders a beer from the Rose & Crown Pub. The Disney beer must taste better right? ;)

I'm so happy for you that the whole family will be together at Disney World next year. It is truly something to look forward too!!!

Great update! I can't wait to be on that beach in...ugh...7 months. lol

Yay for Mama and Lacey and Jessie going with you guys in May!!! Woo HOOO!

I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that I won't be at Disney World next year. It's a process. :)

We are going to beach in about a week and a half and my husband has started checking the weather. He told me last night that it looks like rain the whole time so far, so what did I try to do? Talk him into going to WDW instead! I told him that his mom would really enjoy going to Disney again with the girls, blah, blah, blah.

My persuasion skills pretty much stink, so I got a bit no. :rotfl2:

But! We will be up in Lacey's neck of the woods next weekend! Michael and I are going up for the Tennessee - Florida football game. Should be a fun time!

Great update, Lisa. I have to tell you THE only reason I've ever considered a Disney cruise is to go to Castaway Cay. I could care less about the food on the ship, or the pool with the Mickey slide, I just want to go to that island.

Looks like you had a good part of the beach all to yourselves. :thumbsup2

John, sleep? Seriously, who would ever think he would do such a thing? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

We were the same way....we wanted to see Castaway Cay the most out of everything the cruise had to offer. The portion of the beach where we were was quiet for a while. But, once the folks starting coming, they really started coming. It got pretty busy.

I thought about you when I posted that John had fallen asleep. I knew it would come as no surprise to you.

Great update! I can't wait to be on that beach in...ugh...7 months. lol

Hopefully, the 7 months will fly by! I can't imagine not going on our annual vacation to Disney. I am sure that it'd certainly be a process of getting over it.

You mean to tell me that you couldn't talk that hubby of your's into going to Disney instead of the beach? He must have his heart set on the beach. :(

I wish I were headed Lacey's way next weekend. It takes us so long to get there though. Ya'll have a great time and wave to Lacey and Jesse for me!

That private island sure is beautiful!!

It's funny, my husband John is the same way about drinking. He usually doesn't drink at home but when we go to WDW he always orders a beer from the Rose & Crown Pub. The Disney beer must taste better right? ;)

John says that when he's really really hot, the next best thing to a big old glass of water is a ice cold beer.

We are beyond happy that everybody's going to Disney next year!

Such great news that Mama, Lacey and Jesse will be joining you on your next trip!!:cool1:

Loved your last update!! Castaway Cay looks so beautiful and soooo relaxing!!:thumbsup2

I know! I am already counting down the days until all of us are in Disney!

Castaway Cay is absolutely gorgeous! I can only take so much lazing around though and I had to get up and explore.

I want to be on a private Island!::yes:: With a hammock. And take a nap without someone poking me to ask for a glass of water or telling me they are hungry.:rotfl2:

Great view! I hope this was a good day for you guys!

For some reason, the air strip is the only thing I HAVE to see if I ever get to go to castaway cay.
