Excuse me, could someone tell me where this should be posted?

I was asking for advice on Downtown Disney Resorts, the ones that are on Disney property and have all the advantages of Disney Resorts.

Where would you post that?

Well I was trying to play by the rules and posted it on the Resorts board and it was moved to OTHER ORLANDO ATTRACTIONS! HELLO!!!!!

Its a DISNEY HOTEL!
People on the RESORT board are the most likely to have stayed there!

Not sure. There are Swan/Dolphin posts all over the Resort board. They're not Disney owned either.

I saw that gepetto and there is also one right under mine about Holiday Inn Family Suites.

Me thinks it has more to do with the person posting the question than the actual question though.

So I'm off to bed, oh well no use to get all DRAMATIC over it     or beat a Dead Horse into the ground!

Ummm... I don't see the problem.

They're not Disney Resorts, and the post was moved to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board.

Those are Orlando hotels you were asking about (Best Western and Marriott), and there are lots of posts on that board regarding Downtown Disney area hotels.

Seems logical to me, unless I'm missing your point (or your motive.)

I see the point, she's asking about downtown DISNEY hotels, not Seaworld or Universal Hotels. If non-disney owned hotels are to be on another board, then all should be moved, including the swan and dolphin posts.

No motive,

The board it was moved to has very very little posts....I wanted opinions....what I don't understand is why Swan/Dolphin posts are allowed, Holiday Inn Family Suites are allowed there....whats the difference in mine????? I would like my post to be on an active board where I will get some answers.

I think the motives are on the "other" side on the fence on this one Kathy.

All I did was ask a very simple question on the board where it would get answered. Maybe I should go and request every other post on the resort board that has nothing to do with Disney Resorts be moved?????

There are posts on the RB asking how to get from AKL to the Contemporary for a dinner reservation. Shouldn't they be moved to the Transportation board?

I think the distinction between Disney resorts and off-site resorts is location, rather than ownership. Besides, the Swan/Dolphin sponsors the Disney Resorts board, so it wouldn't make much sense to exclude them. :)

On-site vs. off-site seems like a pretty logical distinction to me, and nothing to get worked up about. Whatever.

Shouldn't this question have been posted on the Tech Board? ;)

The Swan/Dolphin FAQ thread was started by someone who is a Mod. :smooth: I hope you get the answers to your questions on the Orlando Hotel Board.

Beth, I didn't move your post nor do I know who did.

The Resorts Board is designed for questions related to the Walt Disney World resorts (Swan/Dolphin included) that are serviced by the Disney transportation system, and issues related to reservations, packages, etc.

The "Downtown Disney" hotels are not technically Disney resorts; they are all independently-owned. Hence your post was moved to the board that deals with all other Orlando Hotels and attractions.

If you have questions or concerns feel free to e-mail the board moderators or a webmaster. If you feel other posts are on the board in error, also feel free to use the "report this post" feature.

I had a thread about the DD hotels and it was moved also a few weeks ago.... no big deal. So please don't think it's just you :)

Geppetto,

Thanks for pointing that out - you are correct, transportation questions shouldn't be on the Resort board either, if you post a link to the thread in question, I'll take a look at it and move if neccessary.

Beauty - it wasn't me who moved your post however if I had seen it I definately would of, and with respect, I don't know you from Adam.

I'll admit, we sometimes miss posts on the RB that may be suited better elsewhere - so sue us, we are human and it's a fast moving board. If you have the spare time to sift through all the posts, you are of course more than welcome to use the 'Report this post to a moderator' feature to draw our attention to something :)

BUT, if you use the "Report this post to a moderator" feature, be ready to get an email from one of them, asking you why you even care about it and scolding you for reporting a post that doesn't contain the things in it that are supposed to be reported.
According to the email I got, it is not within the guidelines to report a post because you feel it is in the wrong place.

You won't get anywhere with it, it's best to let it go.

Really???? That's good to know. How...charming.

Pleased to meet you Adam  :teeth:

Using 'Report this post' doesn't neccessarily mean we'll do something you want - it's a feature designed to call a Moderators attention to a post/thread that we may (or may not) have missed - in which case, we'll go have a look at it. It's perfectly within the guidelines for anyone to report what they deem any innappropriate post.

I will say for the record though, that once you've made that report, there is no point re-reporting the same post over and over and over again trying to get the result you want  If a report goes un-actioned it's because we've chosen (often collectively) to do so.

I do agree that some people need to let things go.

IMHO there are just too many board choices. It seems that those hotels are on Disney property and is closer to Disney World than Orlando. My suggesion would be to have just a plain resort board for the Disney area;)

darrose, the Downtown Disney hotels are not on Disney property.

The Swan and Dolphin are on Disney property.
