I think this is a ploy that my pastor invented to rouse the sleepers



We were just finishing up and pastor was in the middle of a great illustration when the fire alarm went off.

He was really great about it, kept everyone calm, joked that they had a lot of experience with this new system and that the firefighters would be here soon. He gave the instructions on how to get out and where to get your kids and everyone made it out very quickly and without incident.
He told us to make sure we greet the firefighters with Christian Love and to let them know we appreciate them.


I never heard what happened but there was a smell in the building so maybe something that was cooking set it off. There is no damage so it wasnt anything serious at all.


I think by staying as calm as he did he made sure that all 800 plus of us got out quickly and safely. I will give him a lot of credit for that.

Binny, glad to hear it wasn't serious at all, but I would laugh at that too. I bet he sure did get a very awake congregation after that

Glad he kept all calm though... things like that can become a mad house!
