Pies, pies, pies......

What are some of your favorites pies? Do you prefer homemade or store bought? Feel free to share any recipes.

I love pumpkin, coconut cream, and apple/pear crumble pie. I'd rather bake it myself, so that I use sugar replacers, such as berry, and grape sugars that I can tolerate. Otherwise no pie for me!

Homemade is the best, but sometimes i will buy a Mrs. Smith pumpkin.

My favorites are Coconut Cream and Apple (either covered or crumbed).

I have not had to make pies in years though, since my sister is head baker at a dinner and she can bring a pie home when she wants. The pudding pies are from scratch and the fruit pies are canned fruit, the crust is from scratch and they use lard.

BELLEDOZER, can you use agave nectar? i noticed that a few of the food network stars are using that now instead of sugar in a few of their recipes.

I actually like peach cobbler the best with vanilla ice cream. But I do like apple, key lime, strawberry and lemon meringe pie.

Chicken pot pie is good too! ;)

I normally use Grape sugar. I've tried Agave syrup, but I've got to be careful with the liquid replacement in my recipes. Berry sugar I can use in small quantities, but have to be careful how often I use it, otherwise it triggers my deadly Peanut allergy (weird but berry sugar and honey can trigger other allergies). I've tried Corn sugar, and have good results with it as well.

How odd, glad that you have good results with corn sugar.

What are some foods that you have craved, and craved, and ate way too much of that you just do not feel like eatting anymore?

I have never craved something that much, but after taking peanut butter and jelly to school for years, i can not longer eat jelly and it took quite some time before i would even eat peanut butter.

Pies! LOVE pies. We had a diner that's now closed that made the best coconut cream pie. I used to go with a friend once a week for breakfast and we'd get pie!

I like to bake, so I usually make my own. I cant' seem to get the hang of fresh fruit pies, tho--they're always soupy. I found a product I'm going to try.

I think I know the rebus, but not sure if I'm supposed to post it! :goodvibes

Cravings..I don't think there's anything I've craved that I won't eat. I ate THousand Island dressing on everything when I was pregnant. :rotfl2: Not so much anymore.

Some foods that I crave. It depends....I really like my DH's homemade hot sauce. Sometimes I crave Thai or Chinese foods, sometimes a refreshing drink, once it was a balsamic vinegarette salad dressing. It is always changing.

Hanging out at our trailer in Birch Bay Washington in the summer months. And cycling all around there.

I used to like the sherbet/ginger ale punch, the kind used at showers until I drank too much one time and made myself sick. I don't do punch anymore.

I crave hamburgers and Coke, not necessarily at the same time.

What was your most favorite summertime memory?
Catching fireflys, playing in the back yard, riding my bike.

Susan i love that punch, have not had it in years though.

Favorite summertime memory - going to the shore (though i won't go near the water).

I like going to the shore too but only like to go in to my ankles. Not being able to see the bottom creeps me out. I don't swim in lakes anymore either.

If you were to open a type of business in your neighborhood that you think your neighborhood either needs or may want, what would it be?

If you were to put together your own FIRST AID KIT, what type of items would you put into it?
