In England our traditional Christmas dinner is more like a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. So we are serving (for 9 people):
Starter: Home made carrot and coriander soup.
Main: Turkey, roast potato, roast parsnip, caulifower, sprouts with chestnuts, peas, carrots, cranberry sauce, mini sausages wrapped in bacon, stuffing and turkey gravy.
Desert: Traditional Christmas pudding with rum sauce.
We will also have Christmas crackers on the table (something I found out when we went to WDW for Christmas 5 years ago you don't have in the USA!!)
This will all be washed down with vintage Vuervue Cliquoit Frencg champagne.

Not sure about New Years day yet, we will have to chat to our friends who we will be spending the day with.

My sister is doing Christmas Dinner this year, she's having Turkey and Ham, potatoe salad, jello salad, not sure what else, I'm making my Christmas Red Velvet Cake.

Christmas Eve is at our house with my DH's parents, I'm making crab cakes and purchasing some salads and wings at the near by store.

New Year's Day, our friends will still be here from the night before so we will probably throw something on the grill, like hamburgers and hot dogs.

If you were to create a new type of chocolate candy, what would it be called, look like, and what sort of ingredients would you use?

What are some things that you would like to do, see, experience before you die?

When I was young I created a list which I am slowly making my way through!
1) Swim with dolphins - done.
2) Go up in a hot air balloon - we plan on doing this when we next go to WDW as we saw the balloons going up early in the morning when we were at the AKL.
3) Go whitewater rafting - done.
4) See the grand Canyon - been 3 times!
5) Go scuba diving on the Great Barrier reef - we are planning a trip to Australia after our next WDW trip so I will do this then.
6) Visit Uluru (Ayres Rock) - will do when we go to Australia.
7) Visit all the worldwide Disney parks - 3 down, 2 to go (or more likely 3 by the time we get around to doing the others!)
8) See an opera at Sydney Opera house - will do when we go to Australia.
9) See the pyramids in Egypt - this one needs more thinking about!
10) Spend New Years Eve in Las Vegas - I'm sure we will do this one year!!

I would like to see each of my sons become successful and land good jobs after college so they will be able to support themselves and have their dreams come true. I would also like to see all 3 of my sons get married and have children, so yes, I would like Grandchildren some day and be able to spend time with them and watch them grow.

I'm hoping both myself and my DH stays healthy as we enter into retirement and be able to enjoy each other and enjoy our retirement years together. We want to be able to travel and see the country, to many places to mention. I hope we both are on this earth long enough so we can become old together.

1) Swim with a Manta ray-done
2) See the Pyramids in Egypt
3) See some Greyhounds race (maybe after the DL trip in 2011)
4) Visit my penfriends in Aussieland
5) Dive the Great Barrier Reef in Australia
6) Have some fun in Las Vegas
7) Learn how to Airbrush
8) Write a book
9) Go to Cozumel again
10) visit WDW

There are two questions of the day today.

*What are your plans for today-Christmas Eve?

*What are your most favorite Christmas songs?

Today is my sisters birthday, so will spend time with her.

I have my Christmas cd's playing now. :goodvibes
I like the classics, jingle bells, rudolph the red nosed reindeer, santa clause is comming to town, ect. As for untraditional Christmas songs Ava Maria and Mama Liked The Roses (this is sung by Elvis).

Today I'm finishing up everything for Christmas day and this evening my DH's parents are coming over for dinner and to celebrate Christmas with them.

I enjoy listening to any Christmas music, the all time favorites like jingle bells, frosty the snowman, rudolph, etc. I also enjoy Silent night, Away in a manager, Little Drummer Boy, etc. the music we sing in church during the holiday season.

Today's QOTD is-

Tell us about some of the Christmas gifts that you had received. Is there something that really stood out since it was something you wanted, something that was funny that you had received, something sentimental....?

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I'm the first one up, so I haven't opened anything yet! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. :goodvibes

Merry Christmas everyone

I'm still waiting for everyone to wake up as well, I remember when the kids were younger waking up at 5 am to see what Santa had left under the tree and now here it is 9:30 am and no one is up yet.

Merry Christmas everyone! We've opened our gifts but I'll have to come back later and tell you about them. Joe's cooking breakfast and we're preparing to head to San Antonio in a little while. We have to leave Carol behind. Boo hoo!!!!!! She has to work this weekend. James can't go either. It will be our first Lambe Christmas without our two kids. :sad1:

From John I got a new cell phone and a new couch. Mom and Dawn will be over later today and then we will exchange with them.
