Gee, that's a hard one. I use coupons all the time. My most recent one was buy 3 Renuzit solid air fresheners and get 3 free. They were on sale at CVS for 89 cents so I got six for 45 cents a piece. They regularly sell at CVS/Walgreens for about $1.49 and at Kroger for 99 cents each.

My best eating coupon here lately was for Taco Cabana. I bought a sheet of restaurant coupons for $20 from the boy across the street. The Taco Cabana one was for bogo taco meals which includes two tacos, rice, beans and two flour tortillas. I did takeout Sunday and my total bill was a little less than $5 for Joe and I together. We did not buy drinks, just drank what we had at home. That coupon sheet has paid for itself many times over.

My best coupon so far has been a groupon for a Fernbank Science Museum family membership for $45. We have used it many times and it has paid for itself and then some!!

Today's QOTD is a bit different. Come, and share some Fall or Thanksgiving recipes that you, and your family enjoys!

This is something I'll start making once the temps get a little cooler. Making soup and stew from November thru March is the only thing different I do in my cooking for different times of the year. We grill all year long, even if it's cold outside.

Winter Beef Stew

1 lb boneless beef chuck or stew meat
2 tbs oil
2 14 oz beef broth
3/4 tsp basil
2 tsp Worchestershire sauce
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cups cubed potatos
1 12 oz bag frozen mixed vegetables
1 14 1/2 oz can diced tomatos

Brown meat; drain off oil. Stir in beef broth, herbs, Worchestershire sauce and pepper. Brint to boil, cover and simmer for one hour.

Stir in potatos and mixed vegetables. Return to boiling. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add canned tomatos. Return to boiling. Cover and simmer for five minutes.

Note: I personally don't brown the meat and leave that step out. I have found that it doesn't make any difference in the taste. I also don't measure my potatos either just cut up two medium sized ones.

Thank you for sharing your recipe with us Susan!

What was the most odd/weird thing you had seen recently?

Yesterday while driving, we were stuck in traffic. Then a car pulls the the side, and in front of me. A lady steps out of her car, pulls out a portable potty, then has her daughter use the potty. She was standing in the way of the traffic so she was blocking the view except for the times that her daughter was sitting on the potty, and picking up pebbles. :scared: I would never do such a thing.

I don't think that there is any thing that I've seen lately that could top that.

I don't know that I would change the colors of the rainbow. I love the rainbow as it is- every color, but together. Although... I might make purple first, since it is my DD's fav color.

Finally! I've been trying all day to get on the DIS.

I like the colors of the rainbow they way they are. I wouldn't change a thing.

I love to do jigsaw puzzles but don't have anywhere to set up a table for it at the moment. I've gotten to where I really like to do the 300 piece ones because the pieces are larger but they take up so much room! I think that a 500 piece puzzle would be my max but I'd consider a thousand piece if I liked the picture.

My family used to put puzzles together all the time, but I haven't put any together as an adult except the ones my 4 year olds use at school! 32 piece floor puzzles!:lmao:

I would love to do puzzles again- as soon as my darling, darling 2 year old thief and chief mess maker of a son learns to leave mommy's many pieced things alone. :rotfl2:

Yogurt....do you like it or dislike it?

I am iffy on most yogurts, but like Yoplait. My kids have been seeing the commercial for Strawberry Splitz, and really wants to try it. But, they do not sell it at any of the stores here. :3dglasses

Not a fan of yogurt either. It's too thick and creamy and sticks to my tongue. Though occasionally I do buy the strawberry/banana flavor just to see if I change my mind and like it. So far I haven't changed my mind.

My son and I are huge Greek yogurt fans! It's so yummy- esp the pineapple flavor. Mmmmm.....:lovestruc
