My point about the Costco discounts was just that they could
begin asking for proof of membership. Look what happened with the National Priceless code. This
Alamo Costco discount was intended for members, the link says "As a Costco member you can save up to 25% off retail rates on your next rental with Alamo. Plus, get unlimited miles and one additional driver at no extra charge. Alamo puts you on the road with exclusive member savings. " and this: "At Alamo, membership means business!
Your association membership means great deals for all your travel plans. Leisure. Business. Daily. Weekly. Weekend. United States. Canada. Europe. Latin America. The Caribbean. Any time. Any place. Alamo puts you on the road with exclusive member savings" It was not intended as a open thing, like the
Walmart code. If the rate is the same with other codes, perhaps it would be safer to avoid using Costco discounts if you are not members.
I am both a BJs and Costco member, and I am glad Costco has such great rates right now. Good luck to everyone with this rental rate. I would just hate anyone to be disappointed at the beginning of a vacation. I am using Alamo next month, and I will report here if they ask for proof of membership. I am not judging anyone, and I read the boards for ways to save $$ too.
