For some reason I didn't even try the link although i kept trying the combination codes from costco. Was able to get another $10 off our SUV.

Now for a week in April, we got the suv for $140.25. I hope that's a good rate. Don't remember how much we paid the last time we had a SUV.

Does anyone know if you can do the fast check-in if you use either the cosco and/or walmart codes/coupons? Can you do the online checkin and go straight to picking up your car?? Thanks!

My rate for a minivan for one week (5/8-5/15) using the Costco contract ID and $25 coupon went down yet another $18 between Thursday and today (Saturday).

I now have a base rate of $117.56, and with the coupon and all taxes the total is $126.77! On Thursday I was happy it had gone down from $156 to $144!

Moral: it pays (literally) to keep checking.

I just checked for my dates in august. My base rate is 211.00. How are you getting this great rate. I went to costco and then clicked on alamo. Do you use your original reservation and modify it or do you start with a new one. I have been starting a new one.

You can't use the online check in if you are using a coupon (at least that's what I have read here, haven't used Alamo yet!)

Have my minivan for $166 for 8 days... same price using walmart code and alamo coupon or using the Cosco coupon and discount. Trying to decide which codes to go with since I'm not Cosco member (BJ's member... no Cosco's around me!!)

My rate went down too!!!!! We have the $117 too and after taxes it is $126!!! I cannot believe it went down!!! A minivan for 7 days at that price is unheard of!

When are you all travelling that you are getting minivans for $126 and other sub$200 rates? Are you all leaving shortly for your vacations?

My trip isn't until December but I'd LOVE that rate for the minivan as we have 6 people in our party and have to rent that large a vehicle.

I tried for the minivan again, I think my rate is so much higher because I am going in August. I think I am doing everything right.

luvdisney14 and zulaya: It must be because we're going the first week of May. Just for yuks, I tried all of the same codes for our weeklong trip at the end of October, and the price for the minivan was way over $200. I don't know what the cut-off is for the great rates, but I guess all you can do is keep trying as your trip gets closer. I was thrilled when we got $166 -- I can't believe it's gone down three times since, but I guess it's all icing on the cake.

FWIW, I do keep making new reservations when I find the better rate, then go and cancel the old one.

I've tried doing the Costco ressies and I'm getting a rate of $180 for Sat thru Thurs. Are the 2 weekend days what is making it so high for me? I'm not getting 20% off plus the $25 off...just 10% off and then the $25. Anyone else experiencing this??

I booked mine with the costco rate ! But what do I look for or where to see if the rate has dropped? Do I go in like I am booking it again and see what price comes up? Also if it does go down do I book it first then cancel, or cancel origonal one first then book new price?

Can anyone find a better rate for 4/14-4/21...pick up ORLR74 (dolphin) and drop off TPA....Almamo is the best I can find right now at $280.

I would go with the Wal-Mart code and Alamo coupon unless the Alamo coupon has a code listed that you are supposed to use. My Entertainment coupon has a code that gave me a much higher rate than the Wal-Mart code, so I used the Wal-Mart code & Entertainment coupon together. Now I think I will use the Costco combination (since they don't ask for your card) and not have to worry about the mix and match problem.

Wow! I'm thinking about this way too much!!

Thanks again! Sounds like we are the same situation. The coupon has another code on it so that was worrying me. I have been told that if the "system" accepts the codes and coupons together than it should be fine but I would hate to get there and have a problem. All this checking, booking and re-booking for nothing... I'd prob. cry.

For those of you going later in the year - your rates will probably drop too. We are going in about a month, but I have been rebooking/cancelling for months as the rates drop. Our initial rate was much higher. Good luck!

I just wanted to make sure you knew that Alamo now has online check-in, which lets you bypass the counter altogether. One catch, though. You can't use a coupon. There are some other catches, too, but that was the only one that seemed to matter for me.
