EWP group?

Welcome to the CB board, also known as the 'cat board' to some of us.

SG, I would love to join you in watching Spectromagic! It is my favorite parade--I watched it 4 times when we were there last month. I was just looking into planning a trip for Thanksgiving or during our Mardi Gras break.

That Don Juan is a great find!:D He waves a mean fan!

Now that I'm refreshed I think I'll go shopping. Anyone want anything while I'm gone? I will try to restrain myself (but not too much)!

I have read Tiiiigergirls trip reports and think she would be great to write an year end report.

I'm off! I'll have to find a cute CM to help me carry all my packages!;)

Yes, that was me in the audience last night cheering you on, SlightlyGoofy! You did a wonderful job! Can't wait until your next performance! Thanks so much for investing our treasury so wisely and for setting up all of the amenities! I am definitely up for a trip to see SpectroMagic or to go on the GMR!

Thanks so much for the great bracelets, Janet2K! We had so much fun wearing them and dancing around on the balcony during the EWP, tonight! We'll have to get our antics on videotape tomorrow night!

Thanks, Catsrule! I also think that Catsrule - I have 4 cats now, and will have 6 cats in a few months when my fiance moves in with his 2 (sort of like "The Feline Brady Bunch"!):)

Hi KimRaye! Hi Glo! Hi Serena! Hi Angelina!

Hi Bobcat! Have a wonderful time on your trip! I'm sure that you and your family will really enjoy it!

Hi Tiiiigergirl! Thanks for asking - my boyfriend proposed to me across the lagoon from our virtual suite, at the Poly last month! It was on the first night of our WDW vacation and we had a magical week to follow, there! Will be spending our honeymoon at the Poly next June - the same week that we were there, this year!

Thanks Cathy! We'll try to behave over here......(??!!)

How do you feel that DLP compares with WDW, Bashful?

Time for a quick MK launch ride across the Seven Seas Lagoon! I love how all the resorts look, all lit up at night! And look at the beautiful Castle, changing colors across the way! Better run down to the dock, now, so that we can see the fireworks from the water!

See you all there!

:)

Good evening everyone.

SG - the BBQ is definitely set up...and boy does it smell good!

Rider - I think that as far as the actual park goes DP is more comparable to Disneyland. Of course as far as hotels go it is more like WDW (although definitely not in size). WDW has the advantage of sheer size. It has so much more space to fit everything and expand. Disneyland is now starting to catch up with the addition of DCA and the planned third gate.

Well I think I am going to go and have some dinner at O'hanas. I have heard wonderful things about it. I will see you all later this evening.

Hey, guys I am glad you are having fun but couldn't you wait for me? All this dancing going on and I am not there to enjoy it. Don is doing his famous fan dance is he? That rascal. He is supposed to be cooking NOT "cookin'!

I put my bracelet down some where, ummmmm. There it is. Must have fallen down in the sofa cushion. Ugh, who left that beavertail down there? Sure glad we have room service to clean up after us.

Angelina and Serena, you sure were a blast at MGM tonight. Did you see the look on that CM's face when we hijacked the GMR. I think the people enjoyed it though. I always did think they rushed through things a bit too much. Serena, that was a wonderful idea coming back around the other way so we could see both sides better. That 15 minute stop in the land of Oz sure set me up for the magic of Spectromagic. Watching the crowd go by as we sat at the Brown Derby with our Grapefruit Cake was the best. Nothing like being the only people on the bus to make you feel pampered. Such a nice bus driver. I didn't know they were allowed to pass out 'no time limit; Fast Passes? I think we got enough to give each member of the EWP Group at least a half dozen.

Hey there Catsrule. Please feel free to bring your little friends with you but please pardon me if I do not pet them as my asthma does not like them as much as I do. Ahhh Chooo! (grin)

I believe I am ready to turn in for the night as I have some mighty big plans for tomorrow. Faaaairry tales do come truuuuuuuuue, it can happen to youuuuuu, if you're young at heart.

S(lightly) G(oofy)

Thanks for the information, Bashful! I have only ever seen pictures of DLP and it looks very interesting - especially their Sleeping Beauty Castle!

And speaking of Castles, is anyone up for breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table, tomorrow morning? I understand that Prince Charming will be saving a special table for the members of the EWP Group! And I say that we all do Fantasmic tomorrow night! What do you say?

Poor Don, his feeling are hurt because we are spending the morning with Prince Charming. I told him that you all would be back later so he is feeling a bit better. He was cleaning up after last nights party when I left this morning.

Have to spend some time in the 'real world' today. Sigh. Lots to do and have a busy weekend. I have tickets to "South Pacific" on Sunday. I just love Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Did I ever tell you guys that I have a Disney connection? The grandson of a dear friend has acted in several movies. His first big break was when we was the voice of "Chip" in Beauty and the Beast. He was the boy in Jumungi and in The Borrowers. He was on Touched by an Angel and several other things that I cannot think of right now. He is in banking right now waiting for his age to more appropriate for the parts he wants in the future.

The food was good at the castle, the view was even better but the company was the greatest. I love being with my good ole Disney buddies.

Slightly Goofy

Oops, how rude. I did not mention my friends name. It is Bradley Pierce. You can do a search and find his homepage to see what all he was in. He was on "Days of Our Lives" also. Great kid - oops again - young man.

SG

Happy Birthday, again, SlightlyGoofy!!!!!!:)

And you'll have to give us a review of "South Pacific" after the weekend! I think I overheard Don singing "Some Enchanted Evening", as he was cleaning our room this morning!

Ah, what a lovely day to walk amongst the palm trees!

That is really neat about your friend's grandson! I definitely know who he is and have seen him in some of the films which you mentioned! Please wish him good luck in his future endeavors for us!

My Disney connection is my friend who is the Show Control Crew Chief for "Fantasmic" at WDW. He also does Show Control for "Who Wants to be a Millionaire - Play It!" and has worked with WDI, too. Also, though I cannot really call these people "friends", per se, I have met several actors whose voices "appeared" in Disney films: Matthew Broderick, Whoopi Goldberg, and Ernie Sabella (Pumbaa)! Does anyone else have any Disney connections to report?

Time to wander over to Tomorrowland and take a spin on The Carousel of Progress! Have a nice day, everyone!:)

It was fun last night!! And I haven't danced in public for so long I thought I forgot how. I was right, but no one cared. :D

You did a great job, Serena! I loved those new steps that you taught everyone - I hope that I remember them so that I can teach them to all my other friends!:)

Wow this sounds like my kind of people! I love to sit back, relax and drink my lemonade. The EPW is something I always like to see... brings me back to my childhood. Glad to know this was brought to the CB.

Now Rider, if you keep congratulating me on my birthday does that mean I have to add even more years to my age? Hope now, I am on a slippery slope as it is. LOL

Wouldn't it be great if Disney could have "Broadway" shows? I would stay an extra week just to go to all of them. I love musicals. I can't carry a tune in a bucket, sure glad that Don has talent though. My favorite song in SP is "You Have to be Taught".

I just developed a new friend at Disney. On our last trip we had a very friendly mousekeeper who came in and sat and talked to us for quite awhile. I was very motherly and advised her about not going in strangers rooms etc. and she gave me her address so we could be penpals. She just had a baby and I found the neatest outfit that says All Stars on it with a baby Mickey. Just perfect.

Serena, you dance just lovely, with energy and enthusiasm. The only dance I know is the Big Bottom Boogy. (grin)

Helena, do you prefer regular or pink lemonade? We aim to please. Consider this your home away from home at Disney. We wander in and out all day long and sometimes party long into the night so you will never be alone. I am a former Buckeye myself and have a sister and best friend that live in Columbus. Would love to take my grands to COSI someday.

How did the COP do Rider? Ijust love those old rides especially when they are cool and you get a comfortable seat. The Cirque for us tonight. Not sure where to eat though. Any suggestions?

Slightly Goofy

Welcome, Helenabear! Come join our never-ending quest for fun, making new friends, support of the EWP, and love of WDW!

SlightlyGoofy - ooh - so glad that you got those Cirque tickets - what a great show La Nouba is! There are lots of great restaurants in Downtown Disney......we enjoyed the House of Blues! Any other suggestions?? And no, more birthday congratulations just mean more happiness over the upcoming years, not more years!! :)

Wow, you guys look like you're having fun! Can I join in?
My name is Amy, and I'm almost 17 (August 20th! woohoo). ;) I love ballet, WDW, and babysitting. I live on Cape Cod... hmm, that's about it. :)

Dear Amy

Of course you may join us. You fit our qualifications - Loving the Mouse!!:earsboy: We welcome all perspectives on our magical world. Maybe you can give us some new ideas of what to do. We are here for the next year and are interested in seeing all the nooks and crannies of WDW that we can find. Ways to do DW differently and just plain enjoying our favorite things over and over again is on our agenda. What is your drink of choice? So far we have lemonade, pink and regular, iced tea, diet coke and I think I am missing something. Luckily we have Don fetching and carrying for us and he is in charge of all the mundane things around here. Frees us up to enjoy the important things. He is a sweet boy, reminds me of my little son. (6 ft 5 in) I thought I would check out the music at the House of Blues this evening. If you would like to join me and anyone else who would like to go along you are welcome. A Shrimp Po Boy for me!

Slightly Goofy

Bashful, my daughter loves the heart bracelet, too. Nice choice. It’s wonderful out here on the balcony, isn’t it? Did you bring your drink? And I can’t wait to get my hotdog from the BBQ. I like my hotdog charred on the outside but moist on the inside. Yum!

Glo, thanks for the lovely welcome! Have you picked out your bedroom yet in our suite? We have plenty of rooms for everyone.

KimRaye, I love pink lemonade. It’s especially refreshing this evening. Do you take yours with ice? Or without?

SlightlyGoofy, I heard IASW Rider screaming, “Take it off…Take it ALL off…” On second thought, I think that was our favorite Private Dining Cast Member Don Juan yelling that. (hee hee) And thank you for being our group’s designated Treasurer. I am going right over to the Magic Kingdom to get Guest of Honor badges made up for our entire group. I can’t decide on the name, though. Maybe I should keep it short and sweet and have it state “EWP Groupie.” Do you think Disney would allow that on the badge? I hope so. I’ll charge the badges to our suite, the “EWP Suite.” Just thought I’d give you a heads up since you’ll be carefully checking over our bill on a monthly basis. That will be a valid charge, so let our accountant pay it when it becomes due.

Catsrule, thanks for the lovely welcome. I did not know that the CB board also was called the Cat Board. I have so much to learn.

Angelina, Spectromagic’s music makes me cry. Actually, it makes me feel so blessed to be alive, and thus the tears start running down my face (I am so sappy).

Bobcat, I’m so happy to hear that Don Juan waves a mean fan. I already knew that he peeled a mean grape (SlightlyGoofy told me that). I’m feeling a little flushed right now. I think I’ll place a call to Private Dining and order up some pink lemonade. What would you like to drink?

IASW Rider, glad you liked the light-up bracelets. I thought you would. I have my camcorder batteries charging right now, and once they’re done, I’ll be ready to let the tape roll and catch our evening’s antics. And include me, please, in the Cindy’s reservations. I hope Aladdin is there. He’s a cutie. And also include me in the Fantasmic reservations. I think we should set up a Fantasmic Dessert party. All the Disneymooners do something like that for their wedding parties. I think it sounds like a fun way to end an evening.

Serena, you were quite the dancer last night. I don’t know if it’s true, but one of the Jelly Rolls’ Cast Members mentioned that you actually were the choreographer for the local Chip And Dale dancers. Is that true? Or maybe he meant Chip ‘N Dale dancers (as in Disney characters). Oh, I had a little too much to drink last night and my memory is all fuzzy now.

Amzey, pull up a chair and join us on the balcony. Did you know that the “EWP Suite” has the largest balcony on Seven Seas Lagoon? It does. I put in a request last night to the Resort Manager that she get a Jacuzzi added to our balcony. She will have the contractors stop by tomorrow to take measurements. Does anyone have an idea as to how many EWP groupies our Jacuzzi should hold? Twenty? Thirty? Forty? Let me know and I’ll pass that information along.

Helenabear, so you’re another lemonade gal? Great! As SlightlyGoofy has stated, we aim to please, just let us know which kind of lemonade you prefer (pink, strawberry, cherry, or the ol’ fashioned kind).

I am so sorry that I missed the “hijacked” GMR. That must have been something! We better make sure that our scribe (aka Tiiiigergirl) notes that one in our “year end” report. I bet it will be a real doozy!

Welcome, Amy!

Of course you can join us - pull up a comfy chair and make yourself at home! Happy (early) birthday, by the way! We're celebrating lots of birthdays, here in the EWP Suite! Janet2K will break out her special decorations for yours, too!

Great idea about the jacuzzi, Janet! Great way to relax after a tiring day at the parks! Maybe we can have Don bring his fans and grapes to us, while we all splash around! Great idea about the Guest of Honor badges, too! We are the proud EWP Groupies!

Time to get ready for Cirque du Soleil and the House of Blues, followed by a special presentation of Fantasmic and dessert party, SlightlyGoofy!

As Mickey Mouse would say: "Everyone clean and pretty? Then on with the show!"

Hi, Amy, it's nice to meet you. Looks like you're another Leo. Welcome to our suite! The company is terrific, and so is the view.

Janet, when we were at WDW in '98, we saw the MSEP. Actually, it was so crowded we only saw the very tip top of MSEP. This trip, I was completely mesmerized by the music of Spectromagic, the beginning, anyway, and those funny little characters with the faces that change colors! I taped the whole thing the second night so I could watch it again at home. Unfortunately, my video doesn't do justice to the beautiful colors, although I did get some pretty terrific pictures, but the music is just great. I can't wait to go back! I have to say, Fantasmic comes in a very close second. We were fortunate enough to get front row seats for the show, and were so glad we weren't scared off by the warnings that it was too much for small children. My 2 yo dd handled it just fine. Even so, I don't think I could have walked back down that hill if she had been scared. It was a really long, hot day.

It's been nice to chat with everyone--I'm going to take a walk out to the dock and watch the EWP and grab a cold Pina Colada while I wait for the fireworks!
