EWP group?

Bashful, I know what you mean about trying to fit work in around family. I am on alert for my grands which is no problem but I have a retired husband and that is about to drive me nuts. He hasn't been the most active man in all these years but he now sleeps 12 hours a day and watches tv the rest. Not depressed, HE is very happy. Ahhhhhhhhh!~

When things get hectic we can just hide out in here and dream our Mickey Mouse dreams. LOL

I have a birthday party tomorrow so I had better get some work done so I can enjoy myself guiltfree. Have a great night and will the last person to leave please turn the lights off for me?

SG

Hey, there, gang! Gosh, is this suite beautiful or what? WOW! I think it’s a cross between the best rooms at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary. Whoever designed it certainly must be full of pixie dust. By the way, can someone please pass me the lemonade? I sure am thirsty today. What time does the Electrical Water Pageant go by our room tonight? Is it 9:00 PM sharp or 9:15 PM? I don’t want to miss it. And has someone called down to Private Dining yet to request some milk and cookies? I’m treating tonight so make sure to give them a big tip. I hope we get that cute Private Dining Cast Member again. His name is escaping me right now. Was it Juan or Don Juan? I get so easily confused in the presence of a big smile from such a nice gentleman.

I hope you folks don’t mind if I quit typing for a little while. I have to get the HAPPY BIRTHDAY decorations up before SlightlyGoofy comes back from her evening stroll. If my date book is correct, her birthday is on the 25th. I thought I’d put up the decorations early so that we could enjoy their cheerful beauty for a few days (not that our suite needs any help in the “cheerful beauty” area). Talk to you all later.

Hi Everyone!

Here I am! :)

Thanks so much for setting this up, SlightlyGoofy! I was meaning to send yourself and Janet "private messages", but I have never used the private messaging on The DIS before, and wasn't sure if you would receive it. So glad that you started this thread! I'm at work now (for a change), but will write more later! Hope that all is well with you, and with everyone else reading this! Have a nice day! :)

Hail, hail, the gang's all here!!! Rider and Janet, I am so happy to see you here. I was afraid I was going to have to carry this room and knew I could not do it as well as you guys. Have you met all the other wonderful people who have dropped by? Such an interesting group and everyone a winner!! I always think sharing experiences with other people is more fun anyway.

I am not quite sure where this room is located as I am directionally challenged. I know that you get a good view of the EWP and evening fireworks from here and it is an easy walk to get to the Boardwalk Bakery and Jelly Rolls. We have a private bus for our group so we can get to any area of WDW without much stress or strain. They really appreciate people like us who love the place around here. Second Chef was just here with some fresh baked goodies. He would have loved to stick around but he had to get back to US and figure out what he is cooking for dinner. Let's see - iced tea and lemonade seem to be the drinks of choice. Any other orders?

Oh Janet, what lovely decorations!!! I am so thrilled that you remembered my birthday and even have apricot flowers on the table. How did you know they were my favorites? You are so thoughtful.

I have been checking out the Osborne Lights today and hoping that I can plan our trip to include them even though we are not wanting to be there for Thanksgiving (crowds) I believe last year they had a special showing for AP members and sometimes they have a soft opening. They are scheduled to open on the 21st. Decisions, decisions!

I would love to hear about everyone's plans for their next trip. What new things are you planning this trip?

Slightly Goofy (SG)

OK - I'm back - no more "work" for me, I am here to enjoy the great company, palm trees, fireworks, and of course the EWP! Oh, and I'd be happy with a large vat of Diet Coke, if we can order one, Slightly Goofy (hee hee!)!

Happy (early) Birthday, SlightlyGoofy!! :) :) :)

Cathy - so sorry that we strayed so far off topic, on the Resorts Board! I had a feeling that we may have had to "move", at some point! But that's OK - now we can all gather here, in this wonderful resort room on the Community Board!

Angelina - Glad to hear that your post-WDW-blues are starting to ease, and that you are thinking about planning another trip! And the Straight A Club sounds wonderful - what a great idea!

Thanks for the kind and warm welcome, Dan, Amid Chaos, and Serena!

Bashful - I think it's great that you are a WAHM - that's a dream of mine! I'm sure that you and your DH do a wonderful job with your business and your children!

Janet2K - Hello! How are you doing?

SlightlyGoofy - I think that our room is located somewhere on or around the Seven Seas Lagoon, with private shuttle service to the EPCOT and Studios areas!

I have never seen the Osborne Lights in person before, but I have seen pictures and I have seen them on TV, and they look spectacular! Hopefully, you will be able to see them on your trip. If not, I'm sure that there are many other new and neat things that you will get to see!

We are looking forward to seeing all of the new parades honoring 100 Years of Magic, when we are at WDW on our honeymoon next June! We are also determined to see all of the shows that we somehow managed to miss on previous trips - ie: "Millionaire", "The Little Mermaid", "Hunchback", etc. Also, in all these years, I have not been on the "new" Imagination ride (since Dreamfinder left), so we are determined to ride it, as well! We will also try some restaurants which we have never visited at the resorts and at the parks!

Speaking of the parks......anyone up for a quick monorail trip to the MK???? Hop aboard with me and let's go!!

Have a nice day!

:)

SG, what are the Osborne Lights? Happy birthday, by the way. Does that make you a fellow Leo? How nice for you to spend your birthday in such a lovely location, sipping lemonade and enjoying all your friends. I think I would choose to spend mine the same way, especially at the Poly! Where are you staying on your next trip? We are thinking about the Contemporary. The kids just loved it when we were there last trip for Chef Mickey's.

Janet, what about you? When are you going back? You always have such terrific things to share.

Rider, how are the wedding plans going? My husband and I also went to WDW on our honeymoon. Will you be going back before then?

I'm heading to Epcot for a walk around the world showcase--would anyone like to join me?

Good morning everyone. I have finally managed to drag myself out of bed and am now ready to pull up a chair and join you for a cup of tea. What a lovely view and so relaxing.

SG - Happy Birthday!!! There is no better place I'm sure than WDW to celebrate your birthday. We will have to have Mickey give you a call and send his best wishes.

Janet - what lovely decorations! It is also nice to meet someone who likes room service as much as my family does!

Rider - Very nice to meet you. How exciting...planning a wedding and honeymoon. My DH and I honeymooned at Disney Paris (many moons ago --- well okay 9 years ago this year....it just feels like many moons some days ;) ) I hope that plans are going well and wish you and your DH to be all the best.

Angelina - I am glad to hear that your post Disney blues are fading away and that you are ready to start planning your next trip. I am in the middle of trying to plan our first trip to WDW for this fall (well not really because every time I start I get so overwhelmed that I put it off for another day) Have a good walk through Epcot. I think I will just sit here and watch the world go by for awhile while I drink my tea.

Hi, Bashful, it's nice to meet you. How exciting to be planning your first trip to WDW. Will you be there for the 100 years celebration? I'm hoping we will get to go sometime in the next year. We missed the Millennium celebration, and the 25th anniversary, too. We were fortunate to see the CM's filming a commercial of some sort for the celebration, so we got a sneak peek at the new floats. Hopefully we'll be able to get in a quick trip sometime this winter or spring--maybe for Easter. We were there several years ago for Easter/Spring break and it was just beautiful. Where will you be staying?

Hi Angelina!

The wedding plans are fine, so far, thanks for asking! Not too much planning to do - it's going to be a relatively simple wedding, so there aren't that many details to tend to before the time gets closer. We do have a Rabbi, a place to hold the ceremony and reception, and a photographer, though! I can't wait till a few months pass and it's not too early to make our Poly honeymoon reservations! :) Where did you stay on your honeymoon? I wish that we were able to go back to WDW for a quick trip before then, but I doubt that we will be able to get away until next June. But that's OK - it gives us something to look forward to! :) How about you - any thoughts about when you might be returning, yet?

Hi Bashful!

Nice to meet you too, and thanks for your kind wishes! What did you think of Disneyland Paris? I'm sure that it was beautiful there!

Well, I had a wonderful time at the MK this morning - rode IASW 4 times! :) Time for an afternoon nap. Any suggestions on where we should have dinner, everyone? I vote for 'Ohana! Great view of the EWP from up there, too! :)

Lemon and no sugar is fine for my iced tea SG, thank you!
And IASW, no apology needed! I don't sweat the small stuff. :)
Ahhhh, I love these cyber trips....so relaxing and sooooo much cheaper than the real thing!!! LOL
CC

Well after spending a wonderful afternoon strolling around the magic kingdom I have returned to put my feet up and have a glass of wine.

Hi Cathy - nice to see a fellow canuck on this virtual vacation (I'm having so much fun with this). If the Canadian dollar continues to plummet virtual vacations is all we will be able to afford soon!

Hi Rider - DP was wonderful although very very crowded (they reached capacity crowds every day we were there).

Hi Angelina - we will actually be at WDW for the 100 year celebration. We are heading down for the DIS convention on the 28th of November and staying at the BC. Then after DIS con we are headed off on a 4 day cruise on the Wonder and then return to AKL for a few more days of fun at WDW.

Hi all! I was just wandering by your room, on my way to the pool to soak up some rays, and it sounded like you were all having a wonderful time! Mind if I pull up a lounge chair and sip a cool glass of lemonade?

I'm a single mom who is teaching her 8 yo DD and 6 yo DS a love of Disney! We leave for WDW in 21 DAYS!!! I was at WDW last Thanksgiving and the crowds weren't bad, except MK on Sat.

Slightly Goofy - you DH sounds like me in the summer! I teach so the first couple of weeks I get off I am like that! Just call me a vegetable and when my sanity comes back I just might answer you!

Maybe I'll change the lounge chair for a hammock, does that rascal CM Don something offer a fan and grapes?

Boy, I sure am glad that I was smart enough to plan a very large room. We would not want to miss anyone of you. Even though everyone is out and about at different times it is nice to have a second 'home' to come to and relax.

Rider, I put some diet coke (no caffeine) in the fridge, right there behind my iced tea. I just knew that YOU would know the location of the room. Sounds exactly right to me. BTW what in the world is a 'simple' DW wedding? (grin)

Angelina, the Osborne lights are originally from a family in (ARK?). Neighbors did not like all the attention not to mention the glare so Disney bought them and gave the family lifetime tickets to DW (lucky people) and DW puts them up on the fake houses on the backlot each year around Thanksgiving. Totally awesome, better than any display I have ever seen and I've seen quite a few in my life. You can get special glasses to wear (FREE!!) that can make the lights look like angels or snowflakes or whatever they figure up. Yep, I am a Leo. I am the oldest of a large family and I used to try to keep them all under control until I got old enough to know better. Relax everyone, I am mellow in my 'old' age and make no rules, except, have fun and find smiles wherever you can.

We will be at AS? in November. I still have not changed my ressies from Sept yet. Am trying to fit it in with the rest of my life. Must take grandson to see Harry Potter movie on the 16th and would love to be there late enough to see some Christmas stuff. Sigh, I will probably miss seeing Bashful who will be there right after we leave. Gosh, darn it!

Cathy, you are in luck with the lemon slices. You can have them all. I take my tea straight. (leer)
Bobcat, y ou are most welcome here. Please make yourself at home and feel free to move the furniture if so inclined. My DH has been retired for 2 years and is still quite comfortable doing nothing. Figure it won't be long before he gets some oxygen in so he won't have to breath for himself anymore. Ahhhhh111 In our room Don Juan does any darn thing we want. OK ladies, quit that. I will have to turn the a/c up!!!

Everyone has such great ideas of where to go this evening but I have already made plans to go over to Boardwalk. Dinner at Spoodles, a ride around on the bikes and an evening 'howling at the moon' at Jelly Rolls for me. Hope my singing does not scare anyone.

Slightly Goofy

Hello!

Slightly Goofy was kind enough to invite me to drop by. This is a great room! It may take me awhile to get to know everyone but I look forward to the opportunity.

Ok now my party manners are over. Someone pass me the lemonade and I'll try not to spit cookie crumbs when I speak uh type.

Wedding plans. How exciting. Can you catch me up on the details? I know I'm coming in late but I just love romance. It tingles me down to my very toes.

Gotta run I'm still trying to track down a good rate for the HRH.

I'm back for just a minute. :)

My family went to WDW for the first time last June. For four days we had extended family with us, then we had two days to enjoy after they left. :D
It's going to be a while until the next one, the money is going out almost faster than it is coming in.

I'll have a lemonade please. I just need to sit back, and get off my feet a moment. Ahhhhh

SlightlyGoofy, I loved the “Hail, hail, the gang’s all here” reference. How cute! And I am glad that you liked the HAPPY BIRTHDAY decorations. I had an awful lot of help putting them up with our newfound Dis friends. We were getting so carried away decorating that at one point we almost completely engulfed our Private Dining Cast Member Don Juan in the crepe paper! It was actually Don Juan who suggested the apricot flowers. It seems to me that he and you have met before? You naughty girl!!

IASW Rider, welcome to the fold! It was getting lonely here without you. And thanks for the monorail ride. I do so love it when I get to ride in front. How thoughtful of you to ask the Cast Member if we could ride in front.

Angelina, I am so glad that you convinced me to grab a beer with you in Germany during our walk around the World Showcase. Like you, I am not a big beer drinker but it sure did hit the spot. Danke sehr (thank you very much).

Bashful64, is there a particular kind of tea that you would like Angelina and I to pick up during our next World Showcase visit?

CathyCanada, would you like one or two lemon wedges with your iced tea? It is so peaceful here, don’t you agree?

Hello there, Bobcat. The pool sure was refreshing today, wasn’t it? And the lemonade afterward sure hit the spot. And to answer your question, I heard mention that our Private Dining Cast Member Don Juan peels a mean grape. I bet he’s marvelous with a fan.

Tiiiigergirl and Serena, welcome to our suite. Earlier today I heard one of the Cast Members down at the Front Desk mention that the “EWP Suite” (our suite!) is the resort’s largest suite and it is booked for the next twelve months to the “EWP Group” (hey, that’s US!). The guest he was speaking with was very disappointed to hear that. I walked up to him and mentioned that he can join us any time that he’d like. That made him much happier (and me, too).

Oh, I have a surprise for everyone. I just brought into our suite a couple dozen of the cutest illuminated bracelets. They are called “Light Wear Illuminated Fashion Motion Bracelets” and they are adorable. I thought we could all put one on right before the Electrical Water Pageant came by. I have at least four of their styles – the heart, star, swirl, and daisy patterns. When you move your wrist, the bracelet lights up. I think it will be a hoot to have them on as we dance on our balcony during the Electrical Water Pageant. I just put the daisy patterned one on. Watch me dance! Would anyone care to join me out on the balcony? I think I hear the overture for the Electrical Water Pageant. Oh, I’m getting so excited -- it will soon be here! Come join me, everyone!

I think I will join you out there on the balcony Janet. Just hang on a sec while I slip on one of those bracelets....a heart one I think...yes that's it...ok I'm heading out to the balcony now.

Hi Guys!!

just stopping by to Welcome you guys to the CB!!! Glad to see you here!! This place is cool and you will have a blast here!!! So, kick off your shoes and make yourself comfortable!!!

Any Pink lemonade here? Or, I'll share the caffeine-free, diet coke, too.

The view and events from your suite are totally New to me and, awesome!! (Even if I've been 4 times the past 10 years!)

Welcome to CB and, my shoes are already off. Does that qualify? I've been back about 6 LONG weeks now and, the Blues aren't going away but, this thread gives me renewed hope for our next trip!:D

Welcome Kim, you may have any drink your heart desires. In this place all things are possible and almost anything can happen and probably will. I really had a wonderful time last night at Jelly Rolls. They kept trying to get me up on the stage and finally I went. Now, I am not a singer but I have a comedy routine that kills. I have a family that provides a lot of material. Usually one of my sisters is with me and I have to contain but last night there were no barriers so I let it all loose! I believe I heard Rider in the back ground yelling "You, go girl!"

TY for the welcome Glo. DW is just the nicest place and the people are what makes it so special. United in love for the Mouse.

Bashful, did you happen to notice if they got the BBQ set up for tonight? Don wanted to do something special for us ladies this evening. He mentioned something about how nicely Janet had unwrapped him from the crepe paper and he was smiling from ear to ear. I would be jealous except I am an old married woman and never think of such things.:p

For t hose of you who have not met Tiiiigergirl before you should visit the trip reports forum and check out her reports. She is a quite talented writer and I am going to ask her to write the year end travel report for this group. Can you imagine the envious glares we will get from the other DIS members when they find out where we have been hiding out?

Serena, what a lucky girl you are to have had your first trip. I remember mine and how I was athe one with the big eyes and open mouth and not my kids. Jaded things that they are. Now my DD takes her family. LOL You have so much to look forward to as you have just had a tiny taste of all that is waiting for you. Please come and walk around MGM with me this evening and we can check out Spectromagic. Maybe some others will join us. When we go on the GMR I think WE should take over the train. Everyone game?

I believe I forgot to tell you all that you can just charge anything to your Room key and the bill will be presented at the end of our year's stay. Since I invested our treasury in Eli Lilly stock and they just announced huge profits I think we are covered.

The stars are shining outside and I can hear the music from the evening parade wafting over the water. My iced tea is gone and it is time to get up and go out into the Wonderful World of Disney.

Slightly Goofy
