EWP group?

IASW Rider you are really going to have to join me on the Maelstrom today. It is no where near as bad as they make it look from the outside. It is actually another very nice ride to go on a nice hot day like today. I think after a nice dip in the pool this morning, I will have to go over there and go on that one again. It is another big favorite of mine at EPCOT.

May I join you today? A cyber getaway is just what I need right now! :)
CC

Are there any big dips on the Maelstrom, Helenabear? Oh.....maybe I'll get brave and go with you! Please join us for a walk around the World Showcase, Cathy!

Have a nice day!:)

Hello ladies.

I was wondering if I might join you for awhile. I have a delicious dessert to share if Don doesn't have anything planned for this afternoon. I need your opinions, as I am planning to submit this recipe to the Pillsbury Bake off later today. I'm hoping that my recipe is only sufficient enough to get a free trip to Orlando, as I am crazy about a certain mouse who resides there.

Unfortunately, as it happens, I mightn't get a chance to visit the mouse while there...the Pillsbury people would like us to bake our recipe for the contest. I suppose I could go ahead and attempt to do a bit better. An annuity just might be my ticket out of cyber vacations and into real vacations with the mouse every year.

As I said, if you are good enough to let me join, I would be happy to share my dessert and my personal knowledge of the Osborne lights, as I lived in Arkansas during the years that Jennings lost his mind to the lights....

I promise not to monopolize the conversation, and I would be glad to play nicely with everyone as I have been taking my happy pills on a regular basis these days.

By the way, can you make an ICB (Icy cold beverage) like they do at Sonic? They have this wonderful frozen lemonade in a Route 44 cup...

IASW Rider there are no big dips at all on this ride (that I can remember). They try to scare you more by having you not face the way you would if you could see how gentle it really is. Of course I may have a different opinion but it is definitely what I would consider a complete family ride... maybe on the level of Pirates of the Caribbean... actually pretty darn close to it. Plus it is nice and cool inside the ride. A great get away from heat around here.

CC, we'd love you to join us... maybe you could help us convince IASW Rider to try out the Maelstrom with us as well stroll around the World Showcase :) Anyone have any good ideas for lunch?

You know I was just thinking how wonderful this group is... I always am bugging my hubby for a trip to WDW and now I can go when I please... and the room at the Poly is gorgeous... my favorite resort of all times :)

Rafiki... share away with your desert... I love trying new ones ;)

Welcome to the EWP Rafiki. Glad you could join us. I'm sure that Don could whip up any frozen concoction that you would like. He really is quite marvelous. I can't wait to hear about your dessert.

IASW I love the names of your cats. I let my DH name our 2 and I am stuck with a Cassiopoeia (or some such thing...I never could spell it...the kids cal her o's o's for short) and then because I gave him a bad time for that name he called our next one meowser
I'm sure that they would love to come and play with all of the other kitties. I aslo have a dog (she is a purebread Keeshond) named Tia.

Helenabear I would love to join you all on a walk around the World Showcase. How about Morocco for lunch...or Mexico...I hear that they are pretty good. Or maybe we should head to AK like IASW suggesteed and got he Rainforest for lunch.

Hi Rafiki! Can't wait to hear about your dessert! Maybe we can all sample it tonight, while watching the EWP, if you would be kind enough to share it! Welcome to our Suite!

Bashful - bring the kitties and doggie along! I understand that the Pet Suites have been completed and are ready for inhabitants!

Helenabear - the Poly is my favorite, too!

Sorry that this is so short, but duty calls (in the "real world") - UGH. Will be back soon!:)

I find it amazing that I have been somewhere that Rider hasn't . We must kidnap her and take her over to RTF for a relaxing, in the heat of the day, meal. I opt for the 'monkey room, unless someone else objects. I guess it is because I feel right at home there. LOL I hear some bad reports on the food but I have been ok with it. Not the best I have ever had but far from the worst. The last time the service was less than admirable but I have a feeling that our EWP badges might command a bit more respect and better service. I am sure that you all know about taking the backdoor into AK. Just in case I will clue you in. You go thru the RFC and they have an entrance for people coming from the parks. This is a much easier way to get into the park than going thru the main gate. (until everyone else finds out)

I am so old that I not only remember all those old time tv shows but I remember when they were NOT reruns!! I even remember when SNL was funny!

Rafiki, are you just entering the contest or are you in the finals? Maybe you could share the recipe with Don and Cass. We would be more than happy to let you practice on u s. LOL We are so happy to have someone with your culinary abilities to join us. I make icy cold beverages on a regular basis as my grandchildren love them. Not hard to do at all and I can make almost any flavor.

Helena, now big old chicken me is scared to death of the Maelstrom and Pirates. I used to ride POTC all the time and do not remember a dip before my last ride a few years ago. Am I imagining that? I get scared of sudden things and it does not help much even when I know they are coming. I do not believe that a 'normal' person would be scared of these rides though as I have riden both and lived to tell about it. BTW, how did your Dad's birthday party go? I bet he was pleased as punch.

Cathy, wonderful to see you taking a break from all your responsibilities. If anyone deserves a cyber vacation it is you. Just let me know what you want to drink and I'll whip it right up for you. I just checked and was amazed at all the visits we have had in this room. I think we may have to add on a few more floors. Hope there is room.

I was at the Swan this morning for a bit of glamour and glitz. Watching the crowds wander and enjoying a cool drink. A quick round of Fantasia golf before the sun got hot and now back here for a bit of rest before this evening's festivities. Where are you guys headed and I will join you, if I may.

Slightly Goofy

PS Any suggestions on how I might spend my natal day tomorrow?
:bounce: :pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies (as always!). Since we are doing the walk around the World Showcase, a watermelon drink from Mexico is one of my faves, right after we do Maelstrom (it's a piece of cake IASW!!). Once we get to France a glass of Champagne would be lovely in that little garden area to the right. :)
Ahhhhhhhhhh....................

Well, I’m standing here in the middle of the parlor room of our gorgeous suite just looking around. I ran into the Resort Manger today and she asked me if we had a final “headcount” for our desired Jacuzzi yet. I told her that we are wild and crazy EWP fans and we thought that bigger was definitely better. I told her that our Jacuzzi must comfortably seat at least 50 EWP lovers. Her eyes grew real big and she told me that the largest Jacuzzi that Disney currently has installed at a resort only seats about 20 people, but since our wish is her command, she will begin working immediately with the Disney Imagineers on getting our wish fulfilled. Gosh, how I love it here at this resort. Such service, and with such a gorgeous smile, too.

For those of you new to our EWP Suite, welcome! As you can see, a “parlor” room is the sitting area of the suite. It contains our incredible entertainment center with large screen HDTV, a surround sound stereo system, a DVD system, a 100-CD Wurlitzer jukebox (thanks, IASW Rider, for having Disney install something so classy as that jukebox into our suite), a couple 1.8 GHz Pentium 4 PCs, a couple Apple Power Mac G4 computers (I need a decent machine to create my streaming video upon so that I may post video footage of our antics for our relatives and friends to view), and high-speed Internet access. Yahoo! We can surf the net and the Dis at lightening speed; no more dial-up lines for our gang, only the best will do (you can thank me for talking Disney into upgrading our suite to contain such state-of-the art equipment for our stay). Oh, don’t you just love it here? I must admit that this is my favorite suite on WDW property. I think I may never go home. We’ll just have to see about extending our stay beyond 12 months.

Now for some important things… I think it’s time to put up the final HAPPY BIRTHDAY decorations for SlightlyGoofy’s birthday tomorrow (Wednesday, July 25th). I took a photo of Private Dining Cast Member Don Juan and had it blown up into a life-size likeness of him. I actually had WDW Photographic Services create a cardboard mockup of Don. I think SlightlyGoofy will really get a kick out of that. And since we learned that Don waves a killer fan, I had him dress “appropriately” for his photo shoot, if you know what I mean (hee hee).

I hope you all have been enjoying your Guest Of Honor badges this week. It took a little arm-twisting on my part to get the Magic Kingdom Cast Member to put “EWP Groupie” on them (Disney does have rules about what may and may not go on a Guest Of Honor badge). I think they look lovely, don’t you?

Amzey, I’m glad your birthday isn’t until August 20th. That should give me some time to figure out how to decorate the suite for someone as sweet as you. Do you have a particular color scheme that you would like your decorations in? Let me know.

Angelina, I bet your Spectromagic video is priceless. I don’t believe that I have ever videotaped it, therefore I am looking forward to (hopefully) doing so on my next trip over to the Magic Kingdom. I just love the music.

SlightlyGoofy, I absolutely LOVE having our very own private elevator. It makes me feel like a rock star every time I take it (well, it makes me feel that way when I have my sunglasses on, that is). And our very own pool and exercise room was a wonderful gesture on the concierge’s part. How special.

Bashful64, it took me a day or two to recover from all that dancing, too. But the exercise did my heart good. Or maybe dancing with Private Dining Cast Member Don Juan did my heart good (I don’t think it did much for my marriage, however).

Jstme, I hope your twins had a lovely birthday. I wish I would have known – I could have had a life-sized cardboard mockup done of Brittany Spears for our suite. Or I could have asked Brittany to come over and sing “Happy Birthday” to them. I heard she was in the area and I bet one of our resort’s concierge Cast Members could have pulled that off for us (they are so good at making the impossible seem possible).

IASW Rider, oh, I absolutely LOVE the name of our new concierge Cast Member – Kas A. Nova. Oh, my, does Disney know exactly how to fill our needs or what?! I’ll say it again, we have just GOT to extend our stay beyond 12 months. And thank you for being our resident EWP expert. I love all the little facts that you know. Thanks for sharing them. I have so much to learn. I cannot wait to check out the new feline suite. What a wonderful addition to our resort. I always thought that the pet kennel over there at the Ticket and Transportation Center looked a little small. I don’t have any pets but I do adore animals.

Tiggersmom, welcome to your new suite! Please get your resort room key from Jstme, our other new roommate. SlightlyGoofy has set it up so that you may charge whatever your heart desires to your room key. Our growing stock portfolio is doing quite well and should cover this year’s vacation expenses. If you have any stock tips, just let us know. Oh, I just LOVE your idea of having a canal dug between the BoardWalk and our resort. Did you know that Bashful64 led a wild prior life up there in British Columbia? Yes, she did. She ran with a dangerous crowd and is rumored to have never encountered a vehicle that she could not start. I think you and she need to hook up and work on that little key problem, if you catch my drift. By the way, I see that Bashful64’s birthday is on August 16th. We’ll have to start planning a little soirée for her upcoming birthday. Maybe we can get some of her old crowd to fly down for a little visit to help us out with that wonderful canal idea of yours, what do you think?

Helenabear, I hope your father can come over to the EWP Suite for a little belated birthday party. I’m sure we can have our Private Dining Cast Member Don Juan and our new concierge Cast Member Kas A. Nova whip up a little surprise for him. And I just love your caftan. You look so elegant and comfortable in it. By the way, congratulations on your recent nuptials. I hope you’re enjoying being a newlywed!

WebmasterCathyCanada, I was wondering where you were lately. I was beginning to wonder whether or not you had run off and eloped with Private Dining Cast Member Don Juan as I haven’t seen him lately either. You didn’t hijack him by any chance, did you? I am so in need of some ice-cold lemonade and I wanted him to bring it on up to our room (I just can’t get enough of his gorgeous smile). On second thought, I would love to try that watermelon drink that you spoke of. I bet it’s scrumptious. I think I should top it off with some champagne. I cannot turn down a glass of good champagne. Oh, I’m getting thirsty just thinking about it.

Rafiki Rafiki Rafiki, welcome to your new suite! Please get your resort room key from Jstme or Tiggersmom, our other new roommates. I myself do not cook but I love to eat. I cannot wait to try your tempting dessert. I bet it’s out of this world. And I would love to hear all about the Osborne Lights because I have not experienced them yet. I have so much to learn.

I should introduce myself to my new roommates. I work in the high-tech industry and love it. Well, I don’t love the layoffs that go along with working in the high-tech industry, but I do love just about everything else. I especially love the fact that just about all of my fellow co-workers are just that – fellows. Of course it drives my husband crazy that I’m around nothing but men all the time, but he knew that when he met me in college all those years ago, so I do not allow his jealousy to ruin things for me too much (luckily for me, he’s a pretty good guy). I have a young daughter (lower single digits) and a teenage son. My son is an angel and my daughter is the devil (okay, she’s a cross between a young Madonna and Brittany Spears). I have my work cut out for me with her. I am already living in fear of her teenage years. Of course by then I will send her to live with Aunty SlightlyGoofy. I am sure that she will straighten her butt out for me (hee hee). I will be so lonely, however, when my son moves on to college in the next few years. He’s been my best friend forever. What a good guy he is. As you can tell, I’m very proud of both of my children. My life revolves around them and would be nothing without them. My other passion you folks already know about – Walt Disney World. I don’t know which passion is more expensive, though, my children or Walt Disney World. Right now I think it’s a toss-up.

We have a very important birthday celebration coming up in September. That is when Walt Disney’s hometown, Marceline, Missouri, will be celebrating his birth. Here’s the link to his hometown celebration webpage: http://www.wd100birthday.com/.

I’m heading out to the balcony right now to enjoy the warm night air. Sleep tight, my friends.

A belated Happy Birthday to all the birthdays I have missed and today a very Happy Birthday to our own SlightlyGoofy. I hope you enjoy our EWP suite and we will celebrate it with you the way it should be! With Don Juan and Cas A Nova of course!

Janet, great job on the suite, it is mahvelous!!

I'll pop in when I can ladies, the nasty virus I got a month ago decided to kick in on Fri and I had to have my motherboard replaced and was working off my kids computer.

So, let the party begin!!

:) :) :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SLIGHTLY GOOFY!!!!!!!:) :) :)

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Hope that you have a wonderful day!!!! We have all kinds of surprises planned for you, here in the EWP Suite, so stay tuned! Janet's life-sized figure of Don (and his fan!) is only the beginning! We'll start off with a deluxe breakfast served by our gentleman "assistants" on the terrace - all of your favorites will be there! Then, we'll continue on to some very special celebrations in all 4 of the major WDW theme parks! And we can't forget the special performance of the EWP, followed by a special birthday presentation of "Fantasy in the Sky", in your honor!

Helenabear - Thanks for the advice and encouragement about the Maelstrom - I will be brave and ride it the next time that we are in EPCOT! The PoC dip doesn't bother me at all, so if the Maelstrom is no steeper than that, then I should be OK (hee hee!)! Still not brave enough to ride Splash Mountain, though!

Cathy - The watermelon drink DOES sound wonderful! And I am always ready for a glass of champagne, as well! (perhaps I will need one after getting off of the Maelstrom?!) We will have to take a stroll over to Mexico and France and do some wine tasting! Hope that your computer is up and running again, soon!

Hi Janet! Thanks so much for checking on the status of our jacuzzi and for arranging all of the wonderful ammenities in our Suite! It's so wonderful to have so many great entertainment options at our fingertips! And you did a fantastic job with all of the decorations and surprises for SlightlyGoofy's birthday! Can't wait to see the newest installment of your video documentary "Around the 'World' with the EWP Groupies"! And thanks again for the badges - I love when people stop me in the parks and ask about my badge. It gives me an opportunity to boast about all of my great new EWP Groupie friends, and our amazing accomodations in this outstanding resort!

I agree - I never want to leave this wonderful resort, either! I hope that they WILL let us extend our stay beyond 12 months!

Have a great day Amid Chaos, Amzey, Angelina, Bashful, Bobcat, Cathy, Catsrule, Dan, Glo, Helenabear, Janet2K, Jstmee, Kimraye, Rafiki Rafiki Rafiki, Serena, SlightlyGoofy, TiggersMom, and Tiiiigergirl! Hope that I got everyone!

:)

Happy Birthday SlightlyGoofy!!!

What a wonderful day it is today. I so look forward to sharing the largest Jacuzzi tub on property with you all. Right now I am just sipping my lemonade and enjoying the day go by. It feels like it should be such a lazy day today, especially after all the birthdays my family has had lately. My grandmother recently turned 90 and boy did we have a bash for her.

SlightlyGoofy, my dad enjoyed his birthday and his "toys" we got him as well. I think i remember the small dip always being there in PoC. That is such a nice cool refreshing ride. You ought to join me on it sometime and try to forget the dip. We'll have a nice chat before so you don't remember anything bad about the ride... we'll forget our worries and enjoy one of the nicest rides in MK.

IASW Rider, I am glad I calmed your fears about the Maelstrom. After we take Slightly Goofy on PoC we will have to hop on over to EPCOT to do the Maelstrom. Now all I have to do is get you on Splash Mt. That one really needs to be tried though. The drop is only as scary as you can make it but the ride inside before the drop is just too cute to miss... especially if you loved Song of the South as much as I did. "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah Zip-a-dee-ay, my oh my what a wonderful day...."

Well I need to check in with work now (work... what's that). I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

Happy Birthday SlightlyGoofy!!!
Bday1.gif

For your birthday, I've arranged for Pete and Alex to visit our lovely suite and present to you this lovely commemorative lithograph of Minnie decorating a birthday cake, signed and numbered by Walt himself. I will have Janet and our personal decorator, Randall (of Randall Byer's in Little Rock) hang it in just the right spot for you.

I've been to see the Imagineers at work--our Jacuzzi will be shaped like Mickey. They're pouring the final moulds as we speak, and Jacuzzi brothers is working on Mickey shaped jets that will take care of our aching feet after long days in the parks. Janet, they asked me to have you call when you get a chance. They have some questions about fixtures, etc.

By the by, that Kas is really handsome. Janet, where did you find him?

I was thinking about hopping over in the minivan to Walt's birthday celebration. It is, afterall, really close to my dear uncle who lives at Levenworth. It's quite a drive. I wonder if the Mickey plane will hop over to get us.

Tiggersmom--thanks for the key. I didn't know they had Mickey shaped keys too!

Have you guys been in the bathroom? The toilet paper has EWP engraved on it! I feel so special.

I have two desserts--the first, my 6 layer black forest dessert is being cut by Don. Would ya'll like some hazelnut creme coffee to go with that, or shall I have him make us some Jamaican Blue? I think a mocha would be a bit much. I still haven't sent that recipe in to Pillsbury. Everyone, have a taste, and then I'll send the recipe. I need to know if it needs anything else. Is the cream cheese filling sweet enough? What about that chocolate morsel crust? I'm hoping to work on the garnish design a bit more. I'm sure they'll want it to be as beautiful as it is tasty. If I win, I think I'll extend our stay here in the private resort for another year.

Can someone tell me what's for lunch today? I'd really like another shrimp po-boy.

Paige

WOW, Rafiki Rafiki Rafiki!!!!!!!! That cake is unbelievably amazing!!!! YUM!!!!!!! Thanks so much for making it for us! Your cake also serves as a terrific birthday cake for SlightlyGoofy! Not only does it taste wonderfully, but it is beautiful, as well! I am sure that you will win the competition with it! Could somebody pass the milk, please? I think that I'd like another glass.....and another slice of that cake! Don, oh Don! Could you please come over here and lick....uh, I mean wipe.....the frosting off of my cheek, please??

I also noticed our new EWP logo on the toilet paper - pretty nifty! It's amazing how they designed it especially for us! I can't wait to see the Mickey-shaped jacuzzi with the Mickey-shaped jets!

Helenabear - happy birthday to all of the members of your family! You should invite them all here to join us, on this birthday-celebrating-sort-of-day! I know - I love Song of the South, too - I wish that there was a way to go on Splash Mountain without having to take the BIG PLUNGE! I would love to see what it's like inside. I've seen pictures and videos, though! The most "adventurous" that I get at WDW is Big Thunder Mountain, Star Tours, and Body Wars. I went on Space Mountain once, but I doubt that they would let me on again, after shattering the eardrums of everyone within a 20 mile radius when I rode the first time!

I'm off to Orlando International Airport, now, to pick up the members of SlightlyGoofy's extended family, so that they can come and join in her birthday celebration, here in the Suite. After dropping them off in the Suite, I am going to take the monorail over to the Poly and take a dip in their new volcano pool!

The room is beautiful and I am glad to be welcomed.

IASW - I will keep an eye out for any EWP pins -they are a must. I would try to corner the market but should leave some for the rest.

Bashful64 - HMM I am glad to see lost keys present no problem. A wildlife - can't imagine anyone on the DIS being anything but relaxed and calm, but then again I didn't find it until after the disorderly charges were dropped - but that incident was just a misunderstanding. WHo knew WDW would get mad about digging canals they never planned. Maybe Don & Cas can use their charms to persuade WDW to make the connection.

SG - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! - 21 isn't it?!?!?

All I need to charge to the room is a nice cold Pina to hold in the jacuzzi and I am a happy woman!!

Hi TiggersMom!

Have you seen the Electrical Water Pageant pin "in person"? Would you happen to know if they are very rare or are rather easily found on the "secondary market"? Thanks!:)

Mickey shaped jacuzzi... wow, I'll have to convince my DH to get one for home as well ;)

IASW Rider, now you've done it. I have to convince you to go onto Splash Mountain. If you can handle Big Thunder Mt., you surely can handle Splash Mountain. Splash Mt is such a tame ride in comparison... really it is... the drop is no worse than anything on BTM. I am really not lying either. I avoid rides like Space Mt. due to my neck and back but I do fine on BTM and perfect on Splash Mt. So what do you say, we'll try it together. I'll make sure you don't look at that final drop and the next thing you know, you'll hear this little gopher saying "FSU" and then you'll get a quick view of the Castle? Do I have you convinced yet?

I know someone will ask. The FSU thing with the gopher is becuase some FSU college students helped work on the ride with Disney and you'll hear a cute high pitched "F-S-U" right towards the drop.

Hello eveyone!

I have been out celebrating since Tuesday night and am just now getting in. I am a bit too tired from all the fun to properly express my thanks for all the wonderful thoughts you have sent my way. I just could not go to sleep without checking in on you all and seeing what you were up to. I will be sure and get around to everyone tomorrow to thank you in a more expressive way. BTW Whomever supplied Don with the lacy see thru fan, many thanks. It was a wonderful touch. (grin)

I am off for a well deserved rest and am looking forward to seeing the start of the construction of our Micky shaped jacuzzi. Very smart idea, we will be able to accomodate quite a few more people in that type of shape because of the three circles. You all are so very clever.

Much love and great big fluffy hugs to you all from - Slightly Goofy
