Evidently not without repercussions

Jim, when you're here, go to Downtown Disney and find the Earl of Sandwich shop. The've got Miss Vickie's brand of potato chips (what you call crisps, as Wally has so thougtfully pointed out) and have sea salt and vinegar flavor at all times.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! im at OKW so can pretty much walk there if i get the urge - then ive earned the calories to eat them!!! DISNEY ROCKS!!!

I wouldn't walk it. It's a bit of a schlep . . . on a very busy road . . . with no sidewalks for parts of it.

Take the boat from OKW to DTD's Marketplace and you'll be very close. OR take the boat and get off at DTD's West Side and then walk to Earl of Sandwich. Still a bit of a walk that way.

It might be possible to walk via Saratoga Springs. I hadn't thought of that. Still. It's kinda far, and you're on your honeymoon! Take the boat! It'll be romantic!:thumbsup2

They also sell crisps in the UK pavilion at Epcot. I know this because DH spent a fair amount of time examining them. ;)

Thanks and Hell yes!!! I was translating on the fly...Trust me I have learned the hard way about the difference between American and English - Fanny being the most obvious to me!!!

However....I am an addict...I am addicted to salt and vinegar "chips" . Its been the hardest thing ive had to give up in my weight loss programme. Ive had to avoid salt and vinegar chips for 6 months in order to shed over 40 pounds.......and I really reallly cant wait to have some.....and am now dancing on air to know that you have them over there.....last time i went it was all paprika and cheese flavours!!!

OK i sound very sad and needy now!!!

Paprika???
Do you mean by chance barbaque?

... And wow 40lbs!
Your fanny must be looking fab by now!
:lmao:

Actually you can walk from OKW to DTD, I've done it many times. The path starts at the back ... maybe around building 55 or so? I think it's marked on the map. Then it just follows along the canal that the boat takes and you can either cut over to Saratoga or end up near Cirque.

Jeeze! I can't beleive I read through three pages and there is no note on what JSG was doing with the tape and the slow cooker

I miss the good threads because I always have my knickers in a knot about these idiots who are going to put decorations all over the room door at Animal Kingdom Lodge (using Scotch tape) or will be cooking in a Crock Pot for a week in their hotel room.

Apparently it is also common for people to bring their George Foreman grills and/or electric griddles to fill in the gaps from the Crock Pot. It's a HOTEL ROOM, people! Not a small appliance expo!

OMG! How funny!

JSG -- I have a deep dark confession to make; I think I'm one of THOSE idio, um, people. We were in a tent -- NOT a hotel room but I DID bring the crock-pot on our last WDW trip. :lmao: We didn't eat out of it EVERY day... but it figured prominently in the week's dining options...:lmao: However no George Foreman grills nor electric griddles were harmed during the period of interest; and I'm proud to say we were TOTALLY innocent on the scotch tape front.

We'll be staying at WLV on our next trip and; cross my heart and hope to die/stick a needle in my eye, the crockpot will not be making a return appearance. Now that dang hotel room door... maybe it COULD stand to be gussied up a bit... :rolleyes1

I stay in a cabin when I go to Cedar Point. There is a grill outside, so yes we cook on vacation. But the villa's at DAK? I dont think so! Dinner is ready when I get home....at BOMA! :thumbsup2

The Crock Pot girl was in a hotel room, not a villa.

The George Foreman was a suggested item to use in a studio. We have one of those grills. There is no way to control the temp - it gets hotter and hotter the longer you have it plugged it. That teeny little strip of counter in a studio would NOT be my choice for a grilling location.

If someone is in a villa with a full kitchen then it is really no different than an apartment - bring whatever appliances you like. In a tent or a camper if you can figure out how to use your appliances then that's cool.

In a hotel room I don't think grilling or crocking is a suitable activity. But that's just me. DH says it is no wonder there are roaches. :scared1:

As for the tape, feel free to decorate the INTERIOR of your door in any manner you wish. Be advised that the incomplete removal of adhesive may result in a fee from the resort. The EXTERIOR of the door may NOT be defaced, I mean "decorated". This rule is specifically for AKL - I don't know the rules at the other deluxes.

Ahhhhh...Wuz just yankin' your chain a teeensy weeeny bit, Dear Friend. As God is my witness, there will be NO scotch tape in my luggage on my upcoming venture to the world. :littleangel:
