Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Meal Vouchers

We are also looking into the possibility of getting some Q&C Vouchers & some Breakfast vouchers for some character meals. I was looking into Hotwire, but have heard mixed reviews. I most likely wouldn't want the membership long-term - does everyone here have great difficulty cancelling this membership?

Also, considering eating at Columbia Harbor House at MK with a Q&C - if I remember correctly, the sandwiches only came with a bag of chips. With a Q&C - could we get the fries instead?

Any info would be greatly appreciated - TIA! :)

I've joined and cancelled twice with hotwire without any problems. Hotwire now has a recorded options of cancelling by phone. I just check online a few days after I've cancelled to make sureI'm not in the system anymore.

disneyandme- I always give the server the voucher first, even at CB's, I'm not sure it makes any differnce but I just let them know ahead of time.

Thanks MaMudduck for the speedy response!!! :) I figured that Hotwire would be the easiest way to go, but thought it wouldn't hurt to double-check here first. :)

I just returned and used all the voucher types with success. Some saved a little more than others, by far the best deals were the VKL.
Being Canadaian I can't join the clubs to get the vouchers, but was lucky enough to find a couple of dis'ers willing to help out.

I will be heading back again in January and once again hope to find some dis'ers to help with the ordering of the vouchers.

:D Hi,
Please forgive me if this has been answered but have the voucher prices gone up since some of the meal prices have gone up? I am planning on ordering vouchers for our character breakfasts and also some VKL vouchers for our dinner at RFC. TIA.

Can you tell me any more about how you cancelled and rejoined? Did you use your husbands name or a different CC? were you able to get the full number of gift cards again? or did it 'remember' your previous orders?

I just received my vouchers from Hotwire. Does anyone know if Yachtsman Steak House accepts the VKL voucher at dinner since they are not open at lunch? Looks like it would be a great value?

I just ordered some breakfast vouchers and they are still $18.25 for adults and $11.00 for children.
I wasn't going to order them for our Boma breakfast but with the price increase they will now save me money instead of breaking even before.

We are already using them at CRT, PSB and CP.

Here is a link to my report of our voucher experience during our trip that ended 10/16/04. I hope it helps someone in their planning.

Enjoy!

Sorry,

My first post... but was wondering if anyone is a member of Hotwire would they be willing to buy (I will presend the money, sort of like ebay but hopefully from a person that I could trust a little more, ebay freaks me out with so much scamming).

I will certainly pay for the month fee for Hotwire and all shipping costs. I am looking for at least 4 adult premiu vouchers and 2 kids premium vouchers. ALso woul like 5 adult vouchers that work for the Cindrellas Breakfast and also 4 kids for that one. If I buy on e-bay, Iwill pay a huge premium of likey $70 with the mark up and shipping for what would only cost me about $15 for the hotwire membership for one month and shipping!

Anyone able to help out? As I say, I will prepay.

TIA

Hello, trevor6699, welcome to the boards!

You may want to try DisneyAuctions (link is on the Budget Board). People do sell extra vouchers there and, since DISAuctions is fee free, they usually sell for little more than cost. Much better than ebay IMHO. Technically, it's against board rules to post Buy or Sell items on the boards themselves.

Thanks Took,

And sorry about the unintentional ad. I have been to the Disney Auctions and will certainly buy from there first and formost. Currently nothing available.

I see that someone is selling a q&c voucher this week, trevor6699, on DISauctions.

Hi Trevor:

I have 2 adult and 3 chidren's premium vouchers left over from a July trip to the World. They expire May 2005. I don't think that we will be back until the fall 2005. I am currently a Hotwire member but will be cancelling my membership in early November. Please PM me if I can help..

Used a total of 10 Q&C vouchers plus 1 Adult & 1 Child VKL vouchers for 2 adults and 2 children:

MGM Studios: Pizza Planet. Got 1 cheese pizza, 1 pepperoni pizza, two side salads, 2 large sodas, 2 Mickey Rice Crispy treats. We only saved a few dollars using the vouchers here.

Beach Club: Beaches and Cream. Roast beef sub, grilled chicken sandwich, side order of fries, side of fresh fruit, 1 cherry 7-up, 1 raspberry 7-up, No Way Jose Sundae, Mud Slide Sundae. Bill was right around $46.00 -- saved $23.00 w/vouchers.

Magic Kingdom: Pecos Bill's. Ordered 2 Double bacon cheeseburgers and asked for 2 extra buns. Subbed Chilli Cheese Fries for fries, 2 large sodas and 2 chocolate cream pies. Total was about $31.00 -- saved $8.00 w/vouchers.

Epcot: Tangierine Cafe (Morocco). 2 orders of rotisserie chicken which included rice. Also received 2 side orders of french fries. 2 large sodas, 2 desserts (they let us choose from all types available). $40 -- saved $17.00 w/vouchers.

Coronado Springs: Pepper Market. 1 Market Nachos, 1 Oriental Sampler, 1 strawberry smoothie, 1 blue raspberry smoothie, 1 pasta kids' meal, German chocolate cake, cherry cheesecake. $50.00 -- saved $27.00 w/vouchers. Plus they counted the kids meal as a side and did not charge us anything for it.

Animal Kingdom: Rainforest Cafe. Kids each got the Icee drink w/souvenir cup. Ordered 2 Caribe Chicken appetizers which the kids ate as entree. Two orders of Steak and Stuffed Lobster. Volcano for dessert. Total was $130.00 -- saved $85.00 using VKL vouchers!!!

I have one adult and one child VKL voucher we were unable to use. Please PM if interested or if you have any questions.

does anyone know if you can use a childs voucher for someone older than the voucher?

We overbought on childrens vouchers but have 3 teenagers(13, 15, 17) we are taking with our youngest(9). The girls usually don't eat enough to purchase a whole entree.

I just have a question... I printed out the various menus at the locations I would be interested in buying from.. Many of them have burgers or chicken that come with fries.. with the Q & C voucher can I buy one of them as the meal and then order a side of fries and then a desert and drink.. or do I only get the meal that comes with fries, desert and drink... Im trying to understand this whole thing so that I can buy the appropriate amt of vouchers for the places I think we can get the most out of them.. Am I correct in that we can purchase a breakfast voucher for the Cinderella breakfast?? If so this will be a good deal cause I know the tip is included..

Sorry about all the questions, but trying to figure this all out..

::MinnieMo Going in December I have a PS for Cinderella's
Castle For breakfast, I was wondering if I am able to use
the Vochers for this breakfast? I am also wondering if anyone
has any vochers left over from a previous trip? I am so excited to
see the House of the Mouse again:-)

Bettyann29 - if a meal comes with a side and a beverage, then you only get the dessert extra with the voucher. No additional sides or beverage. I just returned from a trip using the vouchers and the CMs I encountered were sticklers about giving us the smallest fountain beverage and cheapest dessert. No side salads allowed if the meal included fries or similar.

I have read other posts where the CMs were very generous about the vouchers, but not in my experience. Someone here posted that at the PM they were not charged for the kids' meals. I surely was!!
