All I can still say is WOW! The rooms here are huge! From check in to departure everything was perfect!
Arrived at OKW at about 11:30, I didn't plan on the room being ready, so I had packed the swimsuits and some laundry I could do while the kids enjoyed a swim. Guard at Gate gave Welcome Home, which we really missed at BCV. Check in lines were very long so I anticipated a long wait--nope only ten minutes and to my surprise the room was alreay ready for us. Building 4--I had no requests here except my sons medical for a non-smoking room. I was given a Welcome home from the front desk person as well, and the youngest was given a balloon.

Went over to check out room and move car. The room was wonderful! It overlooked the golf course and I couldn't have wished for a more perfect location. Everything was clean and well stocked. Towels were the correct count and I guess if I were really picky I could say a few tiles needed a little grout around the tub, but it really didn't bother me--I just made a note of it for those who really pay attention to those things!

Each time we left with our own car we were welcomed home upon return. Busses were very effecient and we encountered no transportation problems--I think this is the most effecient resort I've tried.

Trash and towel day was preformed as scheduled. I did not notice anyone leaving trash laying around outside of the building.

The kids noticed a CM's name tag said Orchard Park, New York which is close to us and he started chatting with them--we learned he is our pastor's nephew. Small world LOL.

Many more vacations will spent here and as I continue to save up for a resale, I'm sure the points will be from OKW a place we really want to call our "home". Though I really love WLV, there is a laid back feeling of being on vacation at OKW that makes me feel I could stay there forever. This is a place I could stay and keep the kids busy even without park passes.

Every building at OKW has a room, very large closet, for trash down at the ground level. There is no excuse for anyone to leave trash around. I have never seen trash left around outside at OKW, I doubt anyone will. Glad you enjoyed your stay at OKW. It is a sharp contrast to the problems one can have at BCV as you saw in the first half of your vacation.

::MickeyMo We are planning our first trip to OKW in January 2005. We went back and forth between WLV and OKW and finally decided on OKW mainly because of the room size (Coming with my MIL);) ;)

SOOOOOO Glad to hear you liked/loved it!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We can't wait and have found all the info from the DIS boards so helpful!! I know I will be saving for ownership too....

Hi Patsal:wave:

Well, it sounds like you saved the best for last::yes:: :teeth: :sunny:

I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip to OKW. We bought there based only on the pix at Allears so it is wonderful to hear what a good time your family had.:earsboy:

Have you ever stayed at VWL at Christmas? To me, that would be a reason to have an add-on there.

Thanks for the impressions and comments about OKW. I'm so glad that this portion of your trip was so much better than the beginning!

My guess is that this thread will sink into oblivion and not make it to 3+ pages as your BCV one already has. I guess there's really not that much to discuss when a report is so glowing!

I think that OKW has a unique charm and attraction as a vacation resort, and we look forward to trying it at some point (if we can pry ourselves out of VWL!! :p )

Thanks again for sharing your comments! :)

Thanks for your report. 11 of us check in at OKW in a little under two weeks, and I can't wait. I have two studios and a 2br. This will be our first visit home, although our home resort is VB, they are all home I guess.

Unfortunately bad always gets more attention than good, but I wanted to be very fair and give kudos where they belonged. To be honest if it were not for OKW I'd really be second guessing my DVC purchase!

I have not stayed at WLV over Christmas--DH is an only child and ML always comes to stay with us that week, and Christmas dinner for the extended family is at our house! Someday, when the kids are grown a bit more I'd like to give it a try. I have considered a week with no pay to go a week or two prior to Christmas--since I teach that would be my only option.

I'll be back to WLV in July 2005--I know it will be magical!

Glad to hear you had a better experience at OKW. We were thinking of staying at an Epcot resort, but maybe we'll check out OKW instead.
