Everything Virtual Queue - Please Read Post 1

Splash Mountain was just Fast Pass or Standby line. But now, is it like the newest popular attractions and you have to go online and enter a Virtual Queue? I have never done this before and don't know how to do it. We will be there the second week of January and need to be prepared what I need to do in order to ride Tiana. Thanks for any advice.
Please see post 1 of this thread that is dedicated to everything VQ. Steps are in post 1.

Is there somewhere to find out how long you actually wait in the physical line once you arrive at the attraction when your VQ boarding group is called? Does this show up somewhere in the app? I can find statistics in Thrill Data which tracks when boarding groups are called, but now how long you wait once there. Not sure our family would want to wait an hour or more once in the physical line.

I'm not sure this is tracked anywhere. In general, the earlier your VQ BG is called, the shorter your wait will likely be but, it can change. I've waited 10 mins for GotG one time and 50 mins another time, even though we arrived at approx the same time, different days. Same has happened with Tron.

It would not be common for you to wait more than an hour once your group is called but occasionally it can happen.

Also, it can be challenging to know by what the line looks like. The time we waited approx 20 mins to ride Tron the line was backed up to the first place they check your app to ensure your VQ BG had been called. Another time we were much closer to the building but they were using all switchbacks inside and outside so our wait was about an hour.

We are going in January at staying at ASM. My college aged daughter loves GOG. I read the first page or so but since it's from 2022 just wanted to double check nothing has changed. I know she will need a VQ for GOG. Do we pay extra for that or do they only charge for LL?

Post 1 is current.

A few things to possibly help:

1. Guardians can be ridden either via VQ or LLSP (additional cost for LLSP)
2. VQ's drop at 7AM and 1PM. The 7AM drop will normally fill within seconds
3. A guest may get a free VQ and pay for LLSP the same day and ride twice.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need clarification.

I can purchase the multipass and individual LL 7 days out correct (staying at BW). Can I buy a multipass for MK for the day and another for night if I park hop? All this is new to me. I also need to know where to read up on strategies to get Tiana as I am going during president's weekend with everyone else. TIA

If you purchase LLMP, as soon as you’ve tapped into your Irst attraction you can book another at any park. No need to (or even possible) to purchase LLMP.

Posts 1 and 2 of this thread contain current information about VQ’s.

You can buy your Lightning Lane Multi Passes and Lightning Lane Single Passes seven days (one week) before your check-in date at Boardwalk Inn. If you are park hopping, you buy your LLMP for the first park you will be using it at. That does not have to be the first park you enter that day. Once you have tapped in to one of the LLMP attractions that you booked at that park, you will be able to book any additional LLMP reservations at any park. You can then even modify LLMP reservations made at that first park to ones at another park. Tapping in to an attraction at the park you bought LLMP for unlocks your ability to book at the other parks. You cannot buy LLMPs for two parks on the same day.

If I get a VQ for Guardians at the 7 am drop, are we likely to be called before the 1 pm drop? How long should we plan to wait once tapped into the standby queue?

I’m hoping we can get on in the first half of the day so we can park hop a little earlier to Studios in the afternoon.

It really will depend on what number you are assigned. Not all groups are called before 1PM as they do not want to have a gap between when the 7AM groups are called and when the 1PM drop happens. There will always be some groups that are not called by 1PM.

I am hopping to Epcot from HS around dinner time and staying through EEH. I believe I'm reading correctly that I couldn't go for the 1 p.m. VQ unless I'm already in the park. I assume they're always gone within a couple hours. But the 6 p.m. EEH VQ does not require me to be in the park yet. How fast are those going now? I will be there on a moderate crowd day after the holidays are over. Should I keep my expectations low, or do I have a good chance without very being fast at the clicking?

You can try for a VQ at 7AM and 6PM. You will be able to use each of them from the time they are called until park close. Even though you are going to DHS first, there is nothing stopping you from trying for a VQ at 7AM.

This picture from Thrill-Data shows that VQ availability varies greatly day to day. There does not seem to be a set pattern.

Will you have better luck if two persons in your group try at the same time to get into a Virtual Queue, or is it better just to have one person trying?

We've done it several times back in the day trying for boarding groups for Rise of the Resistance. And our fast-fingered younger folks were very successful! We'll be trying next month, and I expect the same results.

Can you only ride these rides if you get into virtual queue? Do you have to have a boarding group to get in line, or can you wait?

I have never done a VQ. How do you know what your return time frame will be when you book at 7am? Does it not show until after you book?

Page one mentioned park reservations. I thought that was over with.

Thanks.
