Everything Virtual Queue - Please Read Post 1

I have never done a VQ. How do you know what your return time frame will be when you book at 7am? Does it not show until after you book?

Page one mentioned park reservations. I thought that was over with.

Thanks.
Your boarding group number will display immediately after joining the VQ, assuming you get in. The time your boarding group will be called depends on a host of variables, but you will be provided with an estimated callback in the app as well. A park reservation is required to join the 7 a.m. queue for all non-date-based tickets.

Thanks. I doubt that I could get a park reservation the morning of any given day over xmas--unless those aren't sought after like in the past.

What type of ticket do you have? If you are trying for Guardians, the only day EPCOT is sold out of park reservations is 12/31 NYE. If you are going for Tiana's, MK is sold out for a handful of days around Christmas, but if you have a park hopper you can make a reservation at another park, tap into that park, then hop to MK and as long as you tap in by 1:00, you can join the 1:00 VQ. However, during the holidays especially, hopping just for one ride could be time consuming and may not be worth it.

We have park hoppers.

Regardless of VQ's, I don't need a park reservation for anything, right? I can come and go to any park and hop to any park at any time, right?

As long as you have date-based tickets, correct. Otherwise you will need a park reservation.

I will add that it is possible, due to Holiday crowds, entering/hopping to a particular park could be suspended if the park reaches capacity.

We got BG 10 for Epcot and the park doesn’t open until 9 am but we got called at 8:30 am

And it goes down. Not a good start for Guardians. Not sure if they will issue an anytime pass. Frozen is down as well.

Sorry to hear it. You'll be able to enter the VQ whenever the ride is back up and running.
Yes our teen and 8 year old finally rode it after 2 hours. I couldn’t even move Nemo LlMP. We just went through the Moana attraction and are heading back. Crowds are heavy. We do have extended evening. My Rider Switch is valid until end of day. Moved all our passes to pm. The sudden heat is not helping. It feels like 80.

Tiana’s lasted for at least 4 mins today (last I checked) sold out by 6 mins). We cancelled our BG 8 (really cold and will probably be called around 8 am-an hour from now and family of 5 is just getting up) and got BG 83.

This morning (NYE) was the first time I've ever failed at getting a Guardians VQ at 7:00 out of dozens of attempts. Full in less than a second. That's just a one indicator of how busy the park is going to be today. Hoping for better success at 1:00.

Hopefully you were able to get a BG at 1 pm.

Yes! I (actually my son on his phone) got group 106 and we got called around 6:15. It was funny because we were watching the Voices of Liberty at 12:45 and at about 12:57 a dozen people or so went outside and got on their phones. We all looked at each other and laughed. We all knew what we were doing haha.

If I have boarding group that boards at 9:05 pm, and Epcot closes at 9pm, will we still be allowed to join the queue?

You can board if your group is called. There is no guarantee that all VQs will be called although they will do their best. Is this your scenario today? I have never heard of them posting a time after park close but possibly right now that is the anticipated return time. If you're currently holding that VQ I would continue to monitor as the anticipated return time can change.

If it has not been called by 8:55 I would go to the return station and speak to a CM. Can't hurt to try.

There are 3 people in our party. My daughter wants to definitely go on GOG and I am going to buy her a LL. If I buy her one, can the 3 of still try to join the VQ at 7am or 1pm? Will she still be eligible to join? Also, we are not sure when we are arriving at the park. If I get her an early LL for GOG at 10am and we don't arrive until noon, can she still use it? Are the wait times comparable for VQ and LL or are they the same line? Thanks for any info. We will be going to EP on a Wednesday next week.

You can hold an LL and VQ at the same time so no issue there. I don’t think we have a definitive answer for arriving late for LL but arriving late for VQ is no problem. LL is a separate line and usually a shorter wait.
