Folks,

To those in Queensland and northern NSW....stay safe and dry. I hope you and your loved ones all doing okay and out of the flood plains.

Let us know how you all are.

we are fine and dry, but the winds are terrible and the rain still hasn't let up. carlo made it home ok, so at least we are together.

We are doing good, my street and most the yard flooded but thankfully never came into the house. I live on the coast and went to check out our Esplanade today, businesses overlooking the water have been destroyed as well as jettys and the waves are still splashing up and over onto the road. Roads in and out of my town are closed due to flooding too. Rain has stopped here today though, just a lot of wind.

Between the fires and the floods, Aussie can't catch a break at present. :-(

Best wishes to everyone across the Tasman and fingers crossed for some good weather on the horizon.

Summer is always a bad time for us!

We've been away camping for the weekend so I had no idea about the flooding! Hope everyone is ok.

:grouphug:

Hope everyone is staying safe wether it be the fires, floods or tornados.

And thanks to all the :firefight SES :firefight out and about helping people.

The rain stopped here for a few hours - enough for a bit of sun and humidity! But the winds are still very strong and gusty. And it has come over all cloudy again with more rain! :sad2:
Poor NSW is in for it now, so I hope everyone there stays safe.
Here at home I have no damage, no flooding and power. I am lucky!

Not a fun few days and we had already lost the phone and internet last Wed due to an excavator taking out the line but after 3 days of no power and even mobile phones down we have it back and the phone line is fixed-yaay! Its scary how much you miss technology though. At night espy we were walking round the candle-lit house not knowing what to do with ourselves! We are lucky though-no damage or flooding unlike the many 1000's. Hope Marlea in Rocky is OK. Bundy and the North Burnett and parts of the Coasts copped it the worst this time. Gotta' love January in Aus-floods and fires every year! and yes hats off to the SES and the many 1000's of others who volunteer and risk their own lives to help others.

Glad you checked in. Hope you have food and water. :thumbsup2

The humidity was ridiculous this afternoon. Who would have thought it could be so hot, so quickly. We survived with no damage, though there are trees down all over the place. Now it looks like we may run out of drinking water. I was able to buy a few 1.5 litre bottles from Aldi tonight. The shelves at Woollies and Coles were bare.

Glad to hear all of you have survived unscathed through these terrible storms. Continue to stay safe :grouphug:

Wendy - glad to hear you are ok. I did wonder how you went with all your bush out that way! It has certainly been a hairy few days for everyone. Glad to hear our little family is safe and sound again!
And yes those amazing SES volunteers are amazing - along with everyone else who had helped out with floods or fires.

Nope, not Rocky. Rocky is like the halfway point from Brisbane to where we are. But thanks for thinking of me :hippie:

Oh OK-why I did I have it in my head thats where you are? sorry. Glad alls good anyway. I should have figured that out from your mini TR! (though I read that after I think)

Weekend job-sit and catch up on the zillions of posts and TR on the Dis I have missed!!

Nice way to spend the weekend. My husband is working OT all weekend to fix things from last weekend. We were trapped at home for 24 hours safe and sound new had no Internet for awhile. Today catching up on some work. But that's fun and the perfect way to spend the day I think.
