Everybody Wants to be a WISH Cat (or dog, or goose, etc...) - October 2016 WISH Challenge

Thinking about all of you in the path of Matthew! Be safe!

My woohoos this Wednesday:
Sunday I completed my 12th half marathon and 4th for the year. I also got to meet @courtneybeth on the course!
On Friday my kids both had a great time at their schools jog-a-thon and both ran more than I expected. I was volunteering so I got to see it all!
One of my coworkers just came back today after a trip to Disneyland and she brought me an AP button from AP days!

October 5 -- WooHoo Wednesday!!!

Alright, everybody -- it's WooHoo Wednesday!!!

Share something fabulous that has happened in the last week. Weight Loss/Health related or not. Big or small.

Anything positive is worth celebrating!!!

1 - I'm still riding that high of not only getting that 2:59:15 half marathon finish time, but having it say "You Beat Your Expected Finish Time" on the official results page made it seem so real. Like, holy moly... I can be a runner and actually do this crazy thing? Now that I know it's reachable and feasible, I want to strive further and harder. It won't happen in St Louis but I think I can do something amazing for the Vancouver 10K and get an even better POT for the Princess Half Marathon race in February. (Oddly enough, the 2:59 half is better than my original 10K from Tink and I PR'd my 10K time on a half marathon course. WHAT!)

2 - I am still feeling positive about this life-changing thing I'm working on that involves happiness and money. So any extra pixie dust you can send my way would be amazing - I am so close to getting good news (hopefully) and I think a decision will be reached in the next week or so. (Rhymes with "mew bob").

We are also preparing for the hurricane, they keep changing the forecast for us so we aren't really sure what to expect. Right now we are in a hurricane watch. We lose power if someone sneezes too hard so we are preparing for days without power. I'm off to the store to get a few things this morning.

Be safe!!

My boyfriend is in Florida, too. And I think I am more nervous about him than he is himself...

I'm knitting my first pair of socks! Doing the easy part now... everyone seems to groan about turning the heel so I'm interested to see why its such a challenge.

I have been knitting socks since I was 14 or so. My mother was a home economics teacher and those are the things she thought were important for us to know. There is nothing scary about the heel. I love knitting socks as it is a small project that is easy to finish. I really suck at larger projects.

That just shows how much the hard work since Tink really paid off for you! Well done! And good luck with the other thing...

My WooHoo is that I'm getting ready to go for a bit of relaxation on the long Columbus Day weekend. I'm hoping to make good choice and still track everything - but looking forward to driving, getting some mountain air and seeing the changing leaves. I love Fall !

And another WooHoo is that my clothes are starting to fit better. Not yet to another size, but I'm feeling more comfortable.

Stay safe. I am following the news all day, it looks scary. I hope it doesn't cause much damage inland

Woohoo for the week:

I did my first Yoga with Adrienne workout. Thanks for the tip @courtneybeth! I started with the beginners yoga and felt that I did quite well. All the core exercises my PT had me do for my foot definitely came in handy. I think this will be really great for my foot in so many ways. And the good thing is that it was my exercise goal for the month that made me get started on the yoga! I had strained my shoulder this morning in the bathroom and thought I should not do my exercise DVD with a slightly sore muscle. Also, the foot is a little bit annoyed, so did not want to go for a run. So, yoga it was to keep on track with my goal. Now I feel fabulous and am off to bed! I can totally see how yoga might be a perfect morning exercise though...

but I order a salad and was content! I actually said no to pasta.... DH is still in shock haha! Anyway, I'm proud of myself :-)

haha great work staying strong - you should be proud of yourself :thumbsup2 Stay safe - will be thinking of you!

My woohoo is I feel great today! I usually don't have much energy but for some reason I woke up this morning feeling like I could take on the world :) maybe this high protein diet is working!

Awesome news about your energy levels! Also thinking of you - keep that beautiful family of yours safe!

:rotfl: hope it happens for you pixiedust:pixiedust:

Yep that is sometimes they way isn't it - when you are further away and loved ones are in potential danger - I am sure he will be fine :-) But I will be thinking of you both as well as I keep my eye on the news reports.

WOOHOOs for me;

hmmmm - I have not had any takeaway :D
Other than that its not that I not in a good mood - I am - I just don't think I have many other woohoos lol

Be safe!!

I understand more than you know! DD was in Bermuda last year and it was exactly this week that Hurricane Joaquin was headed for them! They came away pretty unscathed, but it was still nerve wracking to be so far away! (Although I told her after the fact that at least she had the FULL "Bermuda experience"!). I'll definitely add him (and you) to my prayer list!............P

This hurricane looks so scary! They are not common around and it appears Florida governor and the state is well geared to deal with it, and are not taking any chances. I would worry too, but if he does what he is asked to do (evacuate when told to) he will be ok.

I wonder why would people not leave now for few days? Unless they are unable to due to lack of transport/funds but they should be able to get to shelter today. My thoughts are with all that are along Matthews path, in Us and not.

Guys I am not going to be doing check in towards my calorie deficit. First, I have been in near balance, without deficit since 1st of September, 2nd I feel I am at the point I have reached happy weight. I hope you don't mind me adjusting my goal to just track daily and stay at balance.

I am still coughing and I feel if my son age 9 can get over it without the doctor, how come I can't???? I will give myself to Monday and if still like that I will go get it checked. Or maybe I should go today? Why wait. Not sure what to do. It's over 2 weeks now.

I am not very good in resting and fitbit isn't helping. The thing flossybolna was talking about - I am looking at my fitibit and I get a little shock and I get moving. I miss the gym, not the lifting one - the one with the swimming pool and my yoga class.

That's it for my morning coffee update! Have a healthy day All.

The one that went through my region a couple of months ago tended to linger - I had a cough for about 4 - 5 weeks (it got a little freshened up and extended from my day in the rain to see Thor! lol). But since you have the vacation coming up it may be better to get it checked sooner than later so you are all healthy for the trip. One of my workmates was sick with a cough and feeling really unwell right up until she left for Europe on vacation a month ago - I saw her the other day - she said the day of the trip once she was on the plane it all went away - she put it down to the stress leading up to the vacation.

You know what I will go! I will try to book appointment this afternoon. I am fed up with it, and the medical insurance cover most of the cost so it's not like I have anything to loose! I should be able to go after work

October 6 - Question of the Day

Although O'Malley is being sarcastic with the Gabble's, they are flattered nonetheless.
They certainly could see themselves as swans!

The way you see yourself is also a powerful tool in your journey to a healthier you.

Some studies have even suggested the more you accept yourself the way you are, the more likely you are to loose weight!

But life is life -- sometimes we feel like a goose and sometimes we feel like a swan.

What do you do to feel like a swan on days you feel more like a goose?

How are things today? Thinking of you, hope you family, friends and home are safe

Jumping in again to quickly say hello and answer the question. I will be near a computer until about noon today. We are closing down and boarding up our store at that time. Yeesh! This is crazy down here y'all! I got some perspective last night as I walked around the house packing away things that are irreplaceable just in case. We are a few blacks off of the evacuation zone, but our windows are from when our building was built (during the 1970's), and we are up high, so I don't 100% trust that they won't bust and leave me with a soaked mess to come back too..... unlikely, but I'd rather be safe than sorry! We are going out to DH's parents who have impact windows to ride out the storm.

So QOTD:

When I feel like a goose, nothing puts me in swan mode better than blowing out my hair and doing a full face of makeup. I know that sounds trite, but even at my heaviest, I have pictures of me where I look radiant-- solely because I felt radiant with good hair and good face on Hahaha! I also love Lilly Pulitzer clothes. They are so bright and sunny! It's hard to feel like a goose when you look like a ray of sunshine!!! :)
