Every Wish That We Put Into Motion.... (comments welcome!)

The asics were a bust. I need a half-size bigger, and the volume (vertically) in the toe box is too low. As a "toe lifter" they just aren't going to work, even with a larger size.

I'm going to head into Fleet Feet tomorrow to get fitted (again) and try on everything they suggest. When I originally got fitted they had me try on some Ghosts and I very, very much did not like them. But it's been 4 years now, and I have to figure something out. I'm a little intrigued by the glycerine max, and I might be able to get them on a discount from *a source.* Of course, I have to drive to the further-away and significantly less convenient location to try that shoe on and I do NOT care for the color they carry in the store, and I'll end up having to order them anyway if they even work.

I have very wide feet, high arches, and a high instep (the top of my foot running up to my ankle is very "tall"). I also tend to lift up the big toe of each foot when I run for some reason. But I clench up my other toes.

Anyway, don't know if that's similar. I wear Brooks Adrenalines. Previously Ghosts, but I felt like my knees preferred the "stability" shoe. I also tend to wear my shoes pretty loose compared to what a lot of people like, probably because of the high instep issue - I always feel like shoes are too tight up there, so I just don't tie them tightly.

I have a pair of glycerine 22s being delivered tomorrow. I tried on about 4 different shoes at fleet feet today, and those felt the best. There were also a pair of Karhu(?) that felt pretty good but I liked the squish of the glycerines more. We will see if they work out.

He semi-jokingly mentioned that I could get expedited shipping for $5 and I declined it because I’ve always gotten my shoes within 3 days. My order was confirmed at 11:46, labeled for shipping/ready for pickup at 1:47, and I got a FedEx notice they they’ll be delivered tomorrow at 3:32 this afternoon. So fingers crossed they don’t make everything hurt.
