Hmmm I wonder if we could bribe the ride operators :scratchin How much are you willing to pitch in !? :rotfl:

Poohbear-great idea-why didn't I think of that? Wonder what bribes work best on CM's? :scratchin I think I'll still walk back there & see what's happening those fist few days of Feb-anyone hear anything for sure, let us know. Poohbear, have a great trip! Deb

Slacking,

Thanks for the details. I am also a big fan of The Mummy and indoor coasters in general. I just love the darkness factor. Thanks again.

Does anyone know if there are any other AP ride dates besides the end of January? I will be there for my honeymoon March 24th to April 1st and I have an AP. :confused3

Correct me if I am wrong, but looks like the Yeti is a projection on the wall. From the videos, it looks like a shadow, thats all. IS that true or am I missing something?

Possible spoilers?

There are two "encounters" with the Yeti. First time you see him, he is a projection, the second time you see him, it is the full-size animatronic.

AP preview is only that one weekend, but I would not be surprised at all if Everest is soft opened that week.

The Yeti makes two appearances. Once in shadow and once as a 3D figure looming over the train. The second is really fast in the video and if you blink you'll miss it.

Very cool!... what is the store like? lots of stuffed yetis? :confused3
Don't know if there are lots of 'em, but you can see one of the stuffed Yetis online.

Go to the Vacation Planning Kit Online at the official WDW site. This is basically the same as the DVD you get when you order a planning kit in the mail, EXCEPT for the fact that they can now update it as new attractions/shows/etc. are added. Under the 'Choose Your Experience' section, there is a tab for 'Recent Additions'. Click it to see the video. About 2 minutes in, they do a segment on Expedition Everest, where Luke (the 'thrill seeker' guide) is playing with one of the stuffed Yetis. I want one!!!

The store has TONS of Yeti-related merchandise, including a variety of plush.

Just wanted to say that what I think is the most awesome is to be a CM in AK. Except in the hot weather, that would be my dream job.

Thanks for the sneak peeks, everybody! Please post back and let us know more details as all of you CMs ride it more.

I guess we will just have to live vicariously through yall until we can make it back to ole DW and ride it for ourselves!! :teeth:

Cool!!!! My DH is going to ride it during the preview.......... it looks awesome!!! Glad he enjoyed it!

. . . . and maybe you too, WendyPooh!!!!

We will be in the world 3/28 until 4/2. We were planning on doing AK on 3/30. Do you think they will have it open? Should we do AK closer to the weekend? What are our chances of being able to ride?

THere is no saving Harry, the Yeti ate him.

Scary how? Do you mean the drops and turns etc or scary like the Dinosaur ride? My DD9 loves roller coasters but not scary like Dinosaur - this frightened her and put her off rides for the rest of our holiday last year. :sad1:

Scary like the dinosaur that jumps out at you in Dinosaur at AK.

TeenaS.... thanks for the info !!! If there's any news of a soft opening, can you fill us in !?!? I will be in the world the first week of Feb and I am DYING to ride this !!! :hyper:

If my DH or I hear of any soft openings happening, I'll post. If it's like Mission Space and Soarin, I would expect soft openings starting the beginning of February.
