Ever "taken" anything from WDW?

Okay, I won't "steal" the towel animal. I will call the front desk and ask if I can pay for him...if she says to just take him home...he's mine. If she asks me for a reasonable fee...he's mine! I think he'd be adorable as a decoration in my girls bathroom to remind them of the trip! Perhaps sitting next to the basket of stolen Mickey soaps and shampoos! :rotfl:

I stayed at pop for a week in july and never received one towel animal.

Try staying at Pop if you have not. When I was there for a week every day evert room had about three in EVERY window. If they didn't have the animals, the mousekeeper made a scene out of the items left in the room.

THANKS!! I am staying at POP in NOV. for my DGD's first WDW trip and I'm sure she will love these. I am just going to have to get back to WDW more often - so much changes in a few years it's hard to keep up - but finding the DIS boards REALLY helps for this trip!!

I have never brought home any "towel animals" from any of my trips, but now that I know that they don't care, I might bring home our favorite one next time. I think it would be a great souvenier!

I love hearing about these cool things that everyone brings home, other than the regular souveniers. Anyone else bring home a piece of WDW with them??

I've stayed at POP probably 5 or 6 times and several other resorts at WDW. Never got a towel animal at any of them

I think it might matter if you are obviously traveling with kids. When we go, DSD bring her stuffed animals, and the mousekeepers seem to really enjoy putting them out and putting towel animals with them..

Just a thought..

That may be, but I think it depends more on the housekeeper you get.

I just remembered another thing that I really enjoy bringing home as a souvenier..

I love unused Fastpasses for my favorite rides. I just think it is cool that is shows the date and time when it could have been used. Now, I do use MOST of my Fastpasses, but if you don't, they still make a nice souvenier!!

Those would be cute to put in a scrapbook!

I don't scrapbook, but those kind of things are fun to pull out and look at when it will be a long time until you are back!!

Another thing that I keep is all of the paperwork from the trip - things like the slip they give you to park your car, your resort map with your room circled, the park maps. My DF thinks that I'm nuts for keeping the parking pass from the Contemporary from Chef Mickeys, but I just think it is fun to look at that stuff from time-to-time..

Do you all do that too?

I came real close to taking my waiter at Alfredo's home with me...... :lovestruc

I usually keep the parking pass - I have a huge collections of room keys!

Your husband would really think that I am nuts. I have been home since July 16th and I still have the parking pass in my car! It's a subtle daily reminder of all the fun places we went this summer. I hope to have it there until we return next summer. ;)

When I was in the College Program, I just loved giving away those pens! They made some people so happy, it was so much fun. Especially when they were totally not expecting it, and just looking at the pen after they signed something. Disney magic - in a ballpoint pen. :)

those pens pop up everywhere! i did the college program as well several years ago and remember being out at area restaurants and movie theatres that were not part of disney property and having a disney world pen come with the check.

I have found that if you tip them you are more likely to get one ;)

you know what's weird? on my last trip (3 nights), i left a tip for mousekeeping the first night in a little envelope that said FOR MOUSEKEEPING on it. the first night, they took the tip. but the next two nights i left the tip in the same envelope in the same spot, and they didn't take it! :confused3

We took the plastic throw away tray/bowl shaped like Mickey's head for your DS (4) to eat out of at home. He will have his dinner in it tonight.

Hey, I just realized our last trip we never had any paper or any pens in our room! I usually use the pen during our trip (in Disney journal I keep LOL) and then keep the pen. I guess maybe they stopped leaving them in the rooms for exactly this reason? LOL I, too, loved using the pen at home until it ran out of ink. Not just because it said Disney on it but they just turned out to be exactly the type of pen I like- I'm particular about my pens on how they write, etc. LOL

Never get towel animals TO try to keep- not that we would. LOL

(and I tip every night/morning so that really has nothing to do with whether you get them or not, I guess. I also travel with kids and their Disney stuffed animals/characters... they arrange them on the bed or window but no towel animals still!)

We've always brought home mickey straws (those come back to our room in drinks anyway!) and save the room keys too- they never want them returned anyway. Refillable mugs ofcourse.. but those were purchased and can't think of anything else we keep that isn't purchased by us.

When we go on our trips, I usually get a new toothbrush, toothpaste, etc to go with us. It just makes packing easier.

Then, when we get back, each morning I think that, "This was the toothbrush that I used on our vacation.." But it is kind of sad when it's time to throw it out to get a new one. It means that it has been too long since you have been to WDW!!

I just love the atmosphere of WDW. The sights, the sounds, the smells. I mean, I even miss seeing the busses! How nuts is that? I need to get back soon!

If I could bring back one thing that was TRUE WDW, I would probably bring back.. Hmm.. Maybe a lamp post from Main Street, USA!
