Ever "taken" anything from WDW?

I think this is just so funny! Everyone wants to make WDW "their own", and everyone wants to take a piece of WDW home with them! I love my pinecone from Hurricane Charley, because everytime I see it, I think about the excitement and drama of our trip!

The thing about the "D"s is a little funny! Never thought of all that!! Ever been seen by anyone doing it??

MM :teacher:

Read to the bottom of the post (the "D" post). :goodvibes It really had me going!

Did I miss something here? The poster of that message didn't really put "D"s in everything they ran across?

I love these ideas. I have brought home some cups, plates, and napkins as well. It's just fun to have "stuff" that you see at WDW!

Oh yeah, I did find something else that I brought home with me once. I've only stayed at the Polynesian once, for two nights, but I did bring home the "room service" menu that you typically find in the room. It's cool to see the theming on it, and it reminds me of how special that place is!!

I would LOVE to get *SOMETHING* from inside the Magic Kingdom, though!!

I think it's a neat idea but the poster says "I'm kidding LOL" at the bottom of the post.

I have just about every park map since I started going, I have one from opening year with just the MK and with a bit less then there is now to this years newest maps. I have menu's, plate napkins paper cups etc.
From the first year they had the "Share the magic parade" I have a bunch of the crepe paper streamers they shot out.

Every time we go now I buy another plastic storage tub abd label it with the trip date and everything goes in there. It can be fun just to grab one from the early - mid 90's and look at stuff to see how things have changed.

Yes the soap, shampoo, conditioner and coffee etc. They have disney logos on them and they make great additions to gifts. They look expensive but aren't as I paid for them with the room.

I just thought of something that would be on this topic..

Does Disney ever auction off old items from the parks? I have one of those basements that is kind of "sports-bar" looking, sort of like an Applebee's, and it would be great to have a few REAL items from WDW to have hanging on the walls. They have to get rid of stuff sometime, because they are replacing things all the time!

Ever heard of anything like that??

Yes they do!!! They have two accounts on Ebay and I have purchased from both. They have one account that sells artifacts from the parks and movies props as well as pins and collectables. Earlier in the summer they had the marqee (sp?) letters from Disneyland that you could have purchased, wouldn't that be neat! The other account sells items that do not sell from the gift shops and the disney store. I have gotten some great deals here as well! One is Disney Deals Direct from Disney and the other is Disney Auctions Direct From Disney!!!

Last year I took tinkerbell but my ds left the door open and she got out. I guess she flew back to wdw. I will try and capture her again in december, but she is smart so I doubt I will be successful.

***half tempted not to tell anyone, just cuz Im being greedy...BUT ****

Check out on eBay - seller name: GeneralKnowledge They sell old signs, costumes, etc...

And from living in Florida last year, I learned there is an auction Disney uses, down there, to auction off things, and Im pretty sure this seller gets his items from those auctions.

Oh - Im been "lurking" for years - finally signed up. Hi! :cool1:

OH! And this guy too:

I guess I'm really out of touch!! WHAT ARE TOWEL ANIMALS???

Giiiiirl!!! The cute little "animal" shaped towels, housekeeping will leave for you - when you come back to your room.

Maybe youve been staying at the Value Resorts (like me) and rarely RARELY (if ever!) have gotten a Towel Animal??!?!? :earseek:

Try staying at Pop if you have not. When I was there for a week every day evert room had about three in EVERY window. If they didn't have the animals, the mousekeeper made a scene out of the items left in the room.

That is really interesting about the auctions. Does anyone from here have anything unique at their house that is from WDW?

I think that would be so cool for the basement! I will need to check those auctions out tonight!!

Something about WDW..

Maybe due to everyone stealing the towels that are made into animals the budget resorts don't get them .. shame really

I doubt very much they intend you to take towels (think of the environment and the cost of replacement)

I went to the front desk to pay for mine and they said they were mine to take home. So NO I did not steal them. I was willing to pay for them.

towel animals are allowed to be taken home. Some of them have eyes and beaks stuck to them so it isn't like they'll be used for real towel use anyway.

Last week's trip, I swiped the menu from Pepper Market, but asked for the entire menu from Cali Grill just because they had so many different menus - a wine menu, the dinner menu, a dessert menu, a tea bag selection menu. I just got a kick out of the teabag selection menu. :)

I swipe the coasters too. I think I'll swipe some cutlery next time since they're really sturdy heavy plastic and they're colorful - and maybe more napkins.

I've taken home maps and menus too, pens, notepads... ;)

I "borrowed" a coaster( the kind your drink goes on) from Rose and Crown. I am a scrapbooker and I thought it would look great when I do my page of our family eatting there. And you know what? It does!!!!!!!!!! ;)
