Ever seen someone change a baby diaper on a dining/picnic table at WDW?

Seen a diaper changed on any surface intended for dining at WDW?

When I was a CP at AK I saw it happening more times than I can count...and most of the time when it happens, they do not care if a CM is standing right there or not.
It doesn't bother me when someone is changing their baby in a stroller, bench or in a corner discretely when they cant make it to the bathroom....BUT on a table where ppl eat, or telling your kid "just go over there in that bush"...is crossing the line (there are alot of tainted bushes at AK ;) lol ).

No I have not, that is just so not cool lol.

You're kidding right...please tell me people don't let their kids go to the bathroom in the bushes in theme parks. That is just gross and trashy...seriously if I saw that I would freak out big time.

Yes--in the bushes....and it's gross  . I have read somewhere either in this post or another where others have seen the same thing.

OMG lol....that is just disturbing. There are a ton of restrooms in Disney in all the parks...I never have a problem getting to one or finding one so why do people do that???? I think you should get kicked out for doing that..it is so disrespectful.

I have read all these posts from people who have seen this be done; I am wondering if anyone has SAID anything to these people??? I, myself, might be at a loss for words in this situation. I don't have a problem gently confronting someone who is doing something blatantly wrong, but how do you find the words to address THIS calmy? So seriously, what would someone say upon watching this be done, or what has been said?

I have an idea for this. I think the responsibility lies with the restaurant to halt feces presentation on the table immediately. Here are complaint forms printed by the Florida Dept of Business and Professional Regulation who license all restaurants in Florida: https://www.myfloridalicense.com/complaintwizard.asp?SID=&type=hnr Print a few out for "Public Food Service Establishments" before your trip. It takes at least 2 minutes to change a poopy diaper. Plenty of time for restaurant staff to intervene once you alert them (as if they couldn't see ...). You can show the CM this doc and say that if they don't run over and stop this immediately that you will note their name and file this complaint. If the next person who eats at that dreadful table does get sick, you know for sure they will recount everyplace they ate, when, what. It would be very useful for the Florida DBPR to know what happened. WDW has a strong interest in minimizing these sort of documented complaints. (aren't they all public record?)

I am not sure what Florida statute putting fecal matter on the dining table violates (or allowing such an unsanitary condition in a licensed restaurant), but it must violate something!

I would avoid engaging an adult "in charge" of a poopy baby laying on a table in a busy restaurant. The adult will likely become very defensive and distracted and engage you -- a perfect time for baby to roll off the table or grab a passing waiter carrying hot soup, etc. There is a reason all those changing tables have straps and multiple warnings not to use it without straps.

This abominable practice is bad news all around.

It really amazes me how disrespectful and selfish people are when it comes to this issue, but then again, as humans, we are very selfish.

People with kids really are not doing this out of spite..if you have kids you will have noticed what condition baby changing table are in. Most times they are too small and your baby risks falling off, they are too worn and there is fear it will fall off the wall, there are no security straps, they are being used at the time, you have other kids on tow...a million reasons why a parent chooses not to use a baby changing table that people without babies would just not understand.
Yes I agree the table top changing is very un sanitary but I have changed my baby in his stroller, under trees on the ground...on benches at the zoo for too many reasons I care to mention and if it really bothers people I only have one thing to say to them... life is too short and you really should be getting on with yours. Untill you are in that similar position please dont judge.
p.s. Disney is no different..on two occasions I went to change my baby it was just a solid counter to change him on with no security straps or nothing.
One false move and he would have rolled onto the floor...that was the day that I took him outside of the restrooms and lay him on the ground and apparently offended the masses with my selfishness for wanting to keep my baby safe...many apologies for that!!!!!!!

Apparently you were quite offended with my post, but I'm sorry, just because I don't have kids does not mean I'm not entitled to an opinion about raising children. I really don't feel that having a handful of kids gives anyone an excuse to act ignorantly. You are right, what you do with your kids is your business, but I just think that sometimes people need to take a step back and think about what they are doing. Far too often people just don't think. Please don't think I'm only directing my opinion to people with children only , it's everyone. I also know Disney is geared towards people with kids, which is why I suck it up and go on with my day, it's just not something I want to see whether I'm walking around, eating, etc. You have every right to protect your child, but I highly doubt Disney would leave baby stations in unsafe conditions. I haven't seen any that were horribly unsafe looking or incredibly unsanitary. If that was the case, you should probably let a CM know that. Again, I'm sorry if my opinion offends you, but it's how I feel.

There was a family sitting next to us at Mama Melrose's a few weeks ago and the woman changed her child on the seat of the (shared) booth. I could not believe what I was seeing...

OH HECK NO!!!! That is horrid. Ew ew ew... I would have gagged if I was eating my food and witnessed that. Does anybody have any sense of respect for anything and class anymore?

I'm amazed at some of these stories - EWW!

Ew..... SO NASTY!!!!

I read something about fecal matter being alllllll over shopping carts especially in that section that children sit, now I definitely use those sanitizing wipes they offer for carts.

But on a table where people eat, are they for real? I just don't understand why anyone would think that's ok. :confused3

I saw it once at Cosmic Ray's. Ew. Ew. Ew. And what really grossed me out is that the mom didn't put anything down before changing baby. The only thing I was thinking about was all the nasty germs that are now on the baby's bottom. When she was done, I went over to the table to at least sanitize it to the best of me and my Wet One's abilities for the next person. Ew.

So disturbing! EWWWWW.

I have heard about it a few times on these boards.

When did this become ok?

I run into this while out near home once in awhile. I once asked (loudly) for some mothery-type to remove her sprog's e-coli laden butt from the food counter and got the "it's only a baby" excuse. Fortunately, I've never run into this at WDW. Rest assured, though, if it ever happens in my presence I'll break out the camera and start taking pictures (or at least act like it). A little humiliation goes a long way toward correcting breeder behavior:-)

The worst part is that I was about to talk to her - she was carrying a lime green baggalini and she'd done some things (before the diaper change!) that made me think she was a DISer.... Hope she reads this and realizes it was DISgusting.

Oh man, that's not right. Hopefully she'll come upon this thread.

I'm really not sure what it is that makes people act this way. I'm really into psychology, it just intrigues me, so the next question I would ask is, Why is it only some parents and not all parents? I know that every parent is different, but there is obviously some element there that makes certain individuals feel entitled to do whatever they want and act however they want. They must not care how they look to other people who have some logic. lol.

LOL. I like psychology too. Yeah I guess they don't care.
