ever rented a car with expedia.ca?

Hey,
I was thinking about renting a car through expedia because they have some great rates, but they only provide an extimated rate that could possibly change.
Has anyone ever rented and were you surprised by additional charges when you picked up the car? All in all, was your experience a positive one?
I have used expedia for other trip arrangements in the past and was extremely satisfied, I am just leary about the car because they cannot give you an exact amount. Anyways, any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I would refrain from using them for a car rental. I am sure others out there have done so and had great experiences but there are a few variables that sway me away. First, you can reserve (on line or on the phone) with most car rental agencies without a deposit so there is no commitment or worries about refunds if you find a better offer. Second, many agencies offer excellent website only specials, so google search for a few site names and check this out. Third, I generally use Expedia or Travelocity to find out who has the best price and them go directly to that car company myself. Not only does it save a service charge to Expedia, it cuts out the middle man in case of problems. I just think a little leg work will get you better results! Good luck with what ever you choose to do.
