Ever been to Good & Plenty restaurant in Lancaser PA?

WE like the bird and hand around the corner I think its much better also not as commericalized. For instince G&P had little packets of butter on table and B&H makes homeade. Try it next time menu always different it switches between ham, meatloaf, roast beeh and fried chicken. Always at the bird when there. But if you email the restauarant sometimes they sell a cookbook and will share recipe with you. Mash potatoes homemade noodles with homemade butter to die for.

I highly recommend the Shady Maple Buffet in Lancaster. In a word, yum! And their gourmet bread is to die for.

This is the one that my friend and her DH go to at least twice a month.. (They live in NJ..) She's constantly raving about how good the food is in her letters to me.. They've tried everything they have to offer there and have said it's the best food they have ever eaten..

I haven't been to G&P for several years but was practically raised going there. Are you saying they no longer serve whipped butter with their homemade bread? That was half the reason I enjoyed going, oh and the fried chicken is out of this world!

Love going to Lancaster and eating. DH used to go to Shady Maple all the time as a young child....we actually like eating at Miller's when we are in Lancaster, we like being able to sit alone....other than that, we would go to G & P.

OP here....


I emailed Good & Plenty asking for the their meatloaf recipe and now just waiting with my fingers crossed that they give it out.

I asked DH when we'd be able to go (even for a little weekend getaway). I knew it wouldn't be too soon since we're doing a week's vacation (on a cruise to the Bahamas) in July and a week's vacation to Pigeon Forge in August to Dollywood, Splash Country and checking out the mountains. BUT...he did say that if he can scrape up some extra money maybe we could leave a day early for our TN trip, stop by Lancaster County....doing a little shopping, stop by Good & Plenty and then head out to TN from there.

Sounds good to me...

I haven't been to G&P for several years but was practically raised going there. Are you saying they no longer serve whipped butter with their homemade bread? That was half the reason I enjoyed going, oh and the fried chicken is out of this world!

I haven't been ther in about 6 months but it was nice whipped butter as usual when I was there-can't say I ever saw a packet of butter.

Are you sure it was meatloaf and not hamloaf?

We had Hamloaf when we were at Good and Plenty- never meatloaf.
