Does anyone know which, if any, closing shows and parades are not canceled if there is heavy rain? I will be at WDW next week and it will be the first visit for my Dsis. It will probably be her only visit, so heavy rain won't stop us from going to the parks every day. Can CM's at one park tell you if a closing show at another park has been canceled?

Thanks for the idea someone posted about the safari in the rain. I told Dsis about it and she is looking forward to it. Animal Kingdom is the reason I was finally able to talk her into WDW and she wants to do the safari every morning before heading to another park.

If it's raining steadily, parades will be cancelled. The rain will do a great deal of damage to costumes, wigs, and floats, particularly in Spectro. If it's just misting, or if it's sprinkling out, parades will generally run.

Fireworks shows will go in torrential downpours, as long as there's no lightning in the area and no heavy winds. However, lightning and strong winds will cancel fireworks shows even if there is no rain. However, that seldom happens. IllumiNations, in particular, is a very resilient show that is hardly ever cancelled.

CMs generally won't know too far ahead of time if something is being cancelled, since Disney likes to hold until the very last minute possible before cancelling. Weather in Florida is pretty fickle -- it could be raining one minute and clear five minutes later.
