Evening EMH Question

Are the evening hours still disappearing last minute like they were over the summer? I'm trying to nail down my schedule for my upcoming trip in April, and I don't want another surprise like my last visit. When we booked our August trip last year, there were evening hours almost every night, but by the time we got to the World, they had all vanished! It's not such a big deal this time since I'll be solo and I won't mind some down time, but it was a huge disappointment for the family last year.

Thanks :)

I'm here all the time, and I don't recall the situation of "disappearing PM EMH" last year.

The PM EMH schedule is relatively constant, and is for only 3 of the parks (DAK does not offer PM EMH,)
and usually only one night per week, per park.

So, that would mean, in general, PM EMH 3 nights per week... with an extra night or two of PM EMH only during the very busiest weeks of the year.

I wonder if the OP is referring to the additional night (usually a Friday IIRC) magic hours which MK used to offer in the peak of summer, being removed last year (?)

I did notice that June 29th has no MK pm EMH, which is not the normal pattern for a Sunday night, unless there is a hard ticket event at MK, where they usually move the late night to the following evening instead. I assumed it was to do with Independence Day being later that week and pm EMH being offered on July 3rd. I could be wrong. It makes me feel good to guess if I think I might be right though :rotfl:

I've seen mentioned several times on this board that this is the most "dependable" calendar to watch. http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/DTA-Domestic/pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_Apr.pdf

I want to reinforce this, too.

If you (OP) were checking a different calendar such as the "official WDW Calendar (which is historically a disaster of errors, in itself,) you might have
gotten bad info from a bad source early-on in your planning.

While NO calendar is (or could be) 100% accurate,
the WDW Travel Agent Calendar is consistently the earliest-listed
and best-maintained (frequently updated) of all of the on-line calendars.

Here's the entire year of Travel Agency Calendar listings.

The months' dates will automatically update to the newest info
(as in, change from 2013 to 2014)
as soon as that new month's info becomes available.
That time should be, some date between the 9th and 20th of the month
7 months prior to the beginning of the "new" month for which info is being sought.

The only calendar I use for planning is the official calendar on the WDW website, and I can assure you that every single evening hour that had been officially posted 2 months before our trip was gone by the time we got there. I'm not sure what happened but I can tell you we were pretty disappointed, as we had planned our ADRs and activities according to the posted schedule.

Oh well, thanks for the alternate calendar links, I guess I'll just have to keep a better eye the hours.

Which is just about the worst possible place to check anything.

That was my point.

If you saw things listed there and then they dropped off... that would be
the kind of thing for which the WDW calendar site is (in)famous...
Bad info, late to be updated.

Ok good to know. Thank everyone for the other links, I'll use those instead and hope they are more accurate lol :thumbsup2
