Even Miracles Take A Little Time; a PTR 5 years in the making. NEW! Nov. 2 - Single Digits!

That sounds extremely frustrating ... I don't get why others were getting some sort of compensation and you aren't even able to take your existing arrangement to a different resort. I get that some construction is going to happen but if it is going to negatively impact people's stay they really should do something - especially at the Deluxe prices they charge!

Seems like Disney would want to try to make loyal fans happy rather than frustrate them (I know a lot of people have been frustrated/turned off by the news/strong rumor that Tables in Wonderland is going away)

I can't believe they won't move you. That is just awful and I hope the emails help. I had heard about the WL and all that was going to be starting there from someone at Disney. I hope it works out for you.

You can message me on FB if you want. My TR's are no longer here so you need not worry.

A quick update: we've sold our house, we move in 94 days to a temporary house, we go to Forida in 73 days and then we move in 415 days. :lmao::lmao:

I'll be there during the construction, too. But I was also there during the main pool construction. It didn't really bother me that much. I am still excited to stay there for the Christmas decorations. The only thing that would bother me is if I can't run between WL and FW. I can deal with the rest of it.

Wow, you guys are good! I just thought to myself, "I'm going to get back on the Dis tomorrow!" And here you both are with new replies. I'm really touched that you're thinking of me!
I will do a proper update when I'm not on my iPad. I have to work today and with any luck it will be a slow day and I can get to catching up. For now, I'll get everyone up to speed.

We left off with a really frustrating update about construction at the WL and a CMs unwillingness to help us. We had emailed and got better results! We were switched to the Boardwalk Inn, standard room, standard view, keep our meal plan, and absolutely no increase in price, even for the more expensive resort. We were very, very happy with that and thanked the helpful CM. we are still staying there, hahaha no more changes!

Last night was fastpass night. I'll give you a proper update on that later, but suffice it to say, we got most of what we wanted. (I think... I was half asleep!)

A few dining changes were made also, and I'll start updating more on the daily plans too. I hope!

Wooohooo! That's fantastic that they were able to change you with no additional charges! And back in the Epcot area! Admittedly I'm little more super excited for you changing to Boardwalk as that's where we are planning on staying next November. So I will be eagerly devouring every little detail!

Yay for Fastpass!! Happy that you think it was successful! :D

Good day to you all!

I have been wanting to come back, get caught up with everyone, maybe try updating. The vicious circle of being away is that catching up is so intimidating that you tend to put it off... making you further behind. I've now caught up on some of your reports, joined in some of your new ones. I may have missed some, so tell me if I did. Now it's time to come back to this poor, abandoned report.

I think a recap of the resort runaround is in order.

We started off at the Boardwalk. Switched to BC for the pool. Switched to YC when availability opened because that's what we wanted all along. No Free Dining at YC, and we are on a budget, so we switched to AKL -- only deluxe with FD. WL had FD open up so we switched again, since we've already stayed at AKL and wanted something different. Construction was announced and it sounded quite disruptive, so we (with some difficulty) got back to the Boardwalk.

Yeah. So we have no plans to change that any more.

Our flights got messed up. Air Canada is the crappiest airline ever and cancelled some flights. Now we have to leave the night before, spend a night in Toronto, and then fly into Orlando. We don't arrive any earlier for our troubles, but at least we don't arrive any later.

We have also done our dining reservations. The last I told you about that was just what we were hoping for. I figured I might as well get into the day-to-day plans and we can get the dining in there too. Sound ok?

Ok.

Day -1 we'll call it, is a travel day only. November 10th and we both have to work. We go straight to the airport from work and go from Sydney to Halifax, then Halifax to Toronto. Spend the night. Fun.

Day 1, November 11.
Get back to the airport and leave, land in Orlando around 11am.

Hop on the Magical Express and get swept away to the Boardwalk Inn! I'll request an early check in time, but will be prepared to not get it. Instead we'll store our bags and walk to Epcot! WALK! To EPCOT! I can do that!

We did make a few later FP+ reservations for this day.

[Fastpass+

4:40 - 5:40: Soarin'
6:25 - 7:25: Spaceship Earth
7:25 - 8:25: Mission: SPACE]

And one dining reservation too.

[Dining: 8:00pm Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria]

We will most likely be sleepy and will probably head back to our room early. Not a bad batch of plans for a girl who usually can't get flights to arrive before midnight!

So that's day one!

We usually take the first flight out of Chicago and arrive at the resort around 11am. We've had our room ready for all of our most recent BC and YC arrivals, so hopefully your BWI room will be ready, too.

I love walking to Epcot on arrival days when we are staying at BC, YC or BWI. :) And with Food and Wine going on you can start using those snack credits right away. ;)

I've been following the WL construction thread and your story is pretty common. Disney has agreed to move people to other resorts, one of which is often BWI, at no extra cost as long as you manage to talk to the right people - the people with the power to make these decisions. They really need to make it easier for people to move resorts when faced with a major construction situation.

Hello! I've read through many of your reports before and never commented... I figured it was about time!

I totally feel you on the taking a break and the daunting task of jumping back in! That's my agenda for the weekend - catch up on the mountain of reports I'm behind on (and finally start my new TR!).

That's too bad that you've had so much craziness with your resort plans. I LOVED the Boardwalk when we wandered around there in May - the location is awesome and the resort itself seems so neat. I'd love to stay there one day. I think you managed to land on a perfect choice! :goodvibes

Your first day plans are almost exactly the same as our first park-day plans from May! Via Napoli is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Disney World, so that's always going to get a big double thumbs up from me!

I'm looking forward to Day Two!

Whoa, I didn't realize you'd changed your resort around so much. That sounds hectic! But, in the end, you're staying at an Epcot resort! That's so awesome. I'm sure you're going to love being able to walk into the park whenever you choose. It makes you arrival day sound so easy and stress free. I love it.

Ahhh, Via Napoli on your first night! I'm very jealous. Talk about a great start to your trip.

I absolutely get the daunting task of playing catch up! After my trip last October I just dropped off the face of the earth and never got to do a TR. I think I was worried about the Disney blues if I was on the Dis( I managed not to feel the blues thankfully at least) I regret no TR though so next trip I'm 90% sure I will do one! Lol

Boo to Air Canada!! Is it actually AC or Rouge? I hear not so good things about Rouge. Will you at least be able to get a better sleep the night before and not need to wake up at 3am to get to the airport?

Yay first day!! Love the idea of walking to Epcot and just taking it easy. Sounds wonderful!!

Wooohooo so glad that you are back!! Your first "real" Disney day sounds great especially the walk to Epcot part!!

So glad the resort situation got worked out!! Your first day plans look great. I have Via Napoli on my list for our Spring trip so I will be anxious to read your review on that!

hey there!
I am up to par in your report! But sadly none of your pictures are showing!! I do love your fur babies! LOVE!
and you teach photography?!?! your my new BFF!! I swear! I hope you answer tons of questions and give out advice!

So WL now?? That's where you are staying?!?!
I do love your ADR's!!! did you do FP yet?

Glad you are back to updating! I'm glad you ended up at the Boardwalk. Boo to the changing of flights...on the bright side, you won't be as tired on arrival day!

That's exciting! It would be nice if it is ready! :)

I mean really, what could be any better? We often start our arrival or first full day at Epcot, so this will be great!

Definitely think you're right, you have to talk to the right people, and once you do they're more than willing to do what they can to accomodate you. I truely believe that Disney will do its best to make it as non-disruptive as possible... but I really didn't want to have to "put up with" some of the things that would not be available. I've heard my own story repeated also, I just hope in the end everyone gets something they're happy with.

Hello! I've read through many of your reports before and never commented... I figured it was about time!
Ahh! Officially :welcome: to you!

I totally feel you on the taking a break and the daunting task of jumping back in! That's my agenda for the weekend - catch up on the mountain of reports I'm behind on (and finally start my new TR!).
I'm still working on it, but I'm finding myself slowly making progress.

That's too bad that you've had so much craziness with your resort plans. I LOVED the Boardwalk when we wandered around there in May - the location is awesome and the resort itself seems so neat. I'd love to stay there one day. I think you managed to land on a perfect choice! :goodvibes
I've only been in the BW area once and not for long, but I really fell in love with it. I'm glad our wheel of fortune landed there!

Your first day plans are almost exactly the same as our first park-day plans from May! Via Napoli is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Disney World, so that's always going to get a big double thumbs up from me!
I'm drooling thinking about Via Napoli, it's one of our favourites too.

I'm looking forward to Day Two!

Yep, we really moved around a lot! My poor MIL/TA couldn't even keep track of us for a little while.
Ahhhh I cant wait to walk to Epcot! It does sound stress free.
What a way to start a trip, amIright?

I like to write about my trips, usually, but this trip had so many problems that it got hard to write about. I missed it!

Boo to Air Canada!! Is it actually AC or Rouge? I hear not so good things about Rouge. Will you at least be able to get a better sleep the night before and not need to wake up at 3am to get to the airport?
I think it's Rouge. I HATE Rouge! We still need to get up a little early, but not so much. We get to Orlando at the same time but with a later start to the morning, so yes, let's call that a win!

Yay first day!! Love the idea of walking to Epcot and just taking it easy. Sounds wonderful!!
I agree, I can't wait!

Wooohooo so glad that you are back!! Your first "real" Disney day sounds great especially the walk to Epcot part!!
Me too, I missed it. Ahhhh so excited to walk to Epcot! I can't believe that will be an option for me!

So glad the resort situation got worked out!! Your first day plans look great. I have Via Napoli on my list for our Spring trip so I will be anxious to read your review on that!
Ahh you will love Via Napoli, we ate there two years ago and have been thinking about it ever since!

hey there!

Hi Mo! I used to do a photography course in my PTRs! I might start doing that again. :)

So WL now?? That's where you are staying?!?!
Nope, one step behind. Boardwalk is where we are now!

I do love your ADR's!!! did you do FP yet?
We did! We had good luck too. I'm assuming you did too! Hoping you also had good luck.

Glad you are back to updating! I'm glad you ended up at the Boardwalk. Boo to the changing of flights...on the bright side, you won't be as tired on arrival day!
Me too, I've missed it!
Ahh Boardwalk, a long time wish of mine1
Agreed, it sucks that we have to spend a night in Toronto, but it will get us there early without a crazy early morning.
