Etsy question?

Has anyone ever bought and/or sold on Etsy? I was having a browse the other day and thought about dipping my toe in the waters Was it a good experience? Easy to set up?

I used to e-bay but stopped after a bad experience with PayPal (and the impossibility of ever finding a "real" person to deal with it). Please share your experiences!!

I bought a couple of Disney custom t-shirts from one of the Disboutiquers esty account with no problems! but since I "knew" her from DIS, it was easy for the transaction.

I think JohnsonsLoveDisney - Rachal ,has an etsy account she sells through, you might want to PM her for more info and help!

I love etsy. I've bought lots of cute stuff from different sellers and everything is always great. I sell on there too. Its super easy. Your items are active for three months and yoy get an email when your item sells or if someone has a question. Feel free to pm me if you want more info.

Another etsy fan over here I haven't sold on etsy but I buy all of the time. Right now I'm buying DD's clothes for our WDW trip. It was easy to set up the account. I buy and sell on ebay so using etsy has been easy. I just refer to the seller's feedback when deciding to purchase from them. Just like on ebay I don't purchase from someone w/ low or nonexistent feedback.

You can if you must I don't think I purchased anything till after I had a shop. But I'm surw it wont hurt.

I buy and sell on there...No bad experiences yet I'm also hosting the Glendale Etsy Artist's meetups at my Clubhouse.
I sell allot of my layouts on there I have had some scraplifted but not as bad as I did when I used to sell stuff on Ebay...Its just something Ive come to expect. (sigh)

Do you recommend having a certain number of lots ready for the shop, or just build it as I go? I'm thinking of tag sets and cards to start with (as its supposed to be using my stash of scraps) But I need to get some more small bubble envelopes from the £ shop, and I'm guessing I need to get some bags (and not use freezer bags?)

However you want to do. I started with a few items. Theyare all custom items so I just renew the listing. My others I just list as I go. I have a bunch of things to get on there and hopefully sold before we move. I mostly wrap my items in tissue paper and put in the shipping envie or box.

I just started my etsy shop after people began asking me to buy the jewelry that I made that I was wearing around town and at work. If you think you are going to buy and later start selling, pick a name that you want for your shop name. Your user name will be your shop name. I had one account that was just my last name that I had been buying from before I decided to open a shop.. so I registered a new account with my shop name.
