Escape Wedding Room Block

How does the room block work for Escape brides? Do all of my guests have to stay at the same resort, or even the same level? ie Value, Moderate...

Hi there- I didn't mention this in my PM and I am sorry I forgot. Wishes weddings automatically get a room block for their guests. Escape brides do not. However, a year ago I know if you are able to guarantee a certain amount (no idea what that is, just that we were not) they were able to offer like 10% off or something. It was minimal.

The guarantee that Escape brides have to meet is the 4 nights for the bride and groom.

I think if your able to guarantee 10 nights they give you a 10% discount and do a room black for your guests.

I actually believe they stopped offering the room block discount for escape couples. Best person to ask is your DFTW team member.

They just offered it to me last month when my LOA was drawn up. I didn't ask how many nights I needed to guarantee the discount when I heard it was only 10%. All of my guests have AAA and can get at least 10% off room only with AAA, so there was no point in setting up a block. But I was definitely asked if I wanted to.

I'm an Escape bride, and I did a room block. I chose all Value (Pop Century) for my guests because we had talked about it ahead of time. I actually knew when they would be staying, so I blocked rooms for those exact nights. When I asked about room discounts for my guests, DFTW offered to do a room block. I sent my WC the nights and the resort, and he drew up an addendum to our LOA. Once we sent it back, it has now taken about 2 weeks for it to take effect. My mom has been calling group reservations every once in a while to see if we're in the system yet. She was told that it doesn't matter when they book the rooms as there are that many guaranteed for them through the block. It has definitely taken the pressure off our families to have it!
