Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

The weather here is going to be so unsummerlike.
It's going to be in the high 60's or low 70's
I'm convinced that I'm never going to get in my pool this summer :guilty:

Last night I went to my mom and dad's house to meet their new puppy :dog: . My mom was so indifferent about getting a puppy due to my dad's progressing Alzheimers, and because she is still so devostated about her other dog passing away on Christmas Day 6 months ago. This dog is from the same blood line as the dog that passed away, so she decided to take advantage of this litter, and pick out a puppy (the breeder let her be the first to pick, since she got a previous dog from her). This little puppy was so adorable, and just melts your heart - she is a Beagle and her name is Penny. My dad seems really happy with the dog, which is good, because the dog will help him feel better. I get to puppysit her next Thursday (my dad can't be left alone with her, he wouldn't know what to do with her) at my house, and that'll be fun - she's so cute!!!! :dog:

Well, it's time for me to get to work early.
Have a great day today everyone!!!

SLO A puppy will be good for bothof them

off to get Lauren ready for camp.

Andy ended his fight at 4:33pm today in a peaceful sleep.
I'm so sorry for your loss. OF and I send hugs and prayers your way. And here's some pixie dust for you and NCBeast.

Good morning everyone,
It's the last day of school today, then 7 weeks off, whooooo. Today is an easy day too, this morning we have the end of year tallent show, each class selects 3 acts to represent their class in the final today. Then this afternoon we have the end of year assembly which is held earlier than the usual Friday assembly. Then if the kids parents come to that they can go home early. This evening all the staff are going out for a meal and dance. I can't really be bothered to go as I am so tired, but it is only 2 minutes away from my house so I guess I should go and make an effort. That and my 2 assistants have said if I am not there within 30 minutes of them arriving they are coming around to my house to drag me there! lol.

Well I guess I should go, have a great day everyone.

Please send some positive thoughts my moms way, because her new puppy is sick :guilty:When she picked her up, the breeder told her that she was getting over a small virus, and gave my mom the pills that she was giving her. The first day, Penny didn't eat or barely drink anything, but we didn't worry, because we thought she was just stressed. Then that first night, she had diaherrea twice in her pen, and cried alot. My mom took her to the vet (which she was going to to do irregardless), and her virus is much worse than what the breeder said, and she also has ear mites:eek: My mom is not happy!!!!:sad2: This is the second time she's used this breeder, and she feels that the breeder should have been more up front with her, and should have kept Penny until she was 100%. So my mom is taking her back to the vet today, to have her examined, and to make sure she isn't dehydrating, because she's still not really eating or drinking. My mom is so nervous, because her last 2 dogs died young, and she doesn't want anything to happen to this puppy. This puppy is very lucky to have my mom, because my mom will make sure that this puppy will get everything she needs to feel better.

Belle - Travel safe, and continued prayers and hugs to your both!!!

Danauk - Yea for the last day!!!!!:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:
Have a good last day of school, and enjoy sleeping in tomorrow!!!!

Time to go make the donuts (actually picture frames:laughing:)
Have a good day!!!

Good thoughts & best wishes being sent now to your mom & her little puppy. I hope all goes well and she's better very soon. Sorry about what you, your family & your dad are going through, that's a very insidious disease (Alzheimer’s). You seem like a strong, positive, happy person, I know that will help you and your mom cope. Have a wonderful day!:goodvibes

greetings.. i have been so busy today.. ran errands and went to Meirs and took the van in for an oil change and prevacation check up.. they said the water pump is bed.. so I have no choice but replace it but the extended warrenty covers most of it..

SLO prayers for the puppy.. hope the visit with the vet is good.. I would bring all of this to the breeders attention..

hi to all .. DanaUK.. enjoy vacation...

Good morning everyone, well at last today is the 1st day of the holidays!! I don't have a lot planned for today really, I just want to hang around the house and relax. Pete is going to the DIY store this morning, then he is starting the building work we are doing.

Seewhat Have fun at Disneyland, I would love to be able to just go there for the day! I loved the time I soent at Disneyland last summer. We plan on returning there one day, once all the work at California Adventure has been completed.

Slo I hope your mum's puppy is going to be OK, the breeder should definately be told about the problems.

Everyone else, Hi there!!

Well I guess I should go and get dressed and begin my day of doing not a lot!! Have a great day everyone.

Thanks for all the good thoughts for my mom's puppy - Penny :dog:
She was doing the same yesterday, but my mom is optimistic that she will get better:)
My mom also did talk to the breeder yesterday, and she (the breeder) swears that her vet did not see ear mites, did not hear a heart murmur (I forgot to mention that one yesterday), and was not as sick as she is now. She offered to take Penny back, and give my mom her $$ back, but my mom said "no way". My mom will nurse her back to health :)
I will keep you updated - we see her tonight:goodvibes

Philagoofy - Thank you for your kind words  Alzheimers really is terrible, and you don't totally realize it, until you've seen somebody fade away because of it. I see other men his age that are still golfing, playing tennis, traveling, or whatever, and it makes me so sad to think that my dad can't drive a car anymore, gets horribly confused when out of his normal enviroment, can't shower on his own, and the list goes on and on:guilty: My poor mom is 17 yrs younger than him, and I feel so bad for her to be going through this at such a young age (she's 63) :guilty: I do try and stay positive for her, and I really had to talk her into Penny, and I'm glad I did, because she needs a puppy to give her something else to think about, instead of my dad's failing health. We just take things one day at a time, and pray alot!!!!

To everyone else - :wave2: I'm sorry I"m not making individual comments, but I gotta get going to work. I would love to get alot done today, so I don't have to go in tomorrow.

Have a good day everyone!!!

Have fun at DL Seewhat..

putting the finishing touches on the July US/IOA and WDW trip. with a side of U of Florida and U of central fl..need to put the Disney rewards $ on my card and get a room on the way down..,

:surfweb:

I'm having a quick cup of coffee and then off to work.
I have so so much to do, which is totally awesome!!!!
I'm just praying that this is not just a July thing, and it will be the start of me having more business all the time {{fingers crossed}}
If it is, then I can start giving my employee more hours, and then I don't have to be there all the time. Plus...when my college employee comes home for Christmas, I can give her hours - which would be awesome for me!!!! I miss this girl so much. She came in to visit me yesterday, and I ended up having her help customers, because I got so busy - yesterday was a good day!!!!:)

SeeWhat - I hope you are having fun at DL :cool1:

Danauk - I hope you are enjoying your break from school :)

geffric - When do you leave for Florida?

Well, I gotta run - the early I get to work, the earlier I get to come home.
Have a good day!!!

Hi everyone,

Well I have had quite a productive day inbetween the heavy rain showers we have been having (seriously I am supposed to be on summer break and my garden looks like Autumn, sorry Fall!) We started doing our latest (and hopefully very last) garden project today. So I have spent all day trying to get the of ivy! It totally covered the shed which we are taking down tomorrow and covered 2 of our garden walls. But it is all down now, tomorrows job it to chop it up smaller, bag it up and get ready to take it to the tip next Saturday when my uncle is visiting with his van! Tomorrow we have the wood, plaster board and other building supplies being delivered (the plaster board is because we have to build a replacement wall on the garden room from where the entrance to the shed used to be.)

I also managed to do some pin trading today on this dis which was great! I traded 5 UK limited edition pins with 5 US LE pins. I am getting quite into pin trading at the moment, I have my pins ready to trade in the parks next month!

Slo I am so pleased work has picked up for your shop. Are your girls enjoying their summer break? WHen do they go back to school?

Geffric What plans do you have for your trip? Got any nice ADR's booked?

Everyone else, Hi there, hope you are all well.

Well I better go, Pete just called to say dinner is ready.

Hi everyone.

Slo - I hope the puppy is making a speedy recovery.

SeeWhat - Can't wait to hear about your trip to DL/DCA. We probably won't be going this year - I have my eyes set on the world instead ;)

DanaUK - Sounds like you are making great progress on your garden. Mine is finally dying. All the water in the world won't help the tomato plants in 115+ heat. Sigh.

Geffric - Are you still planning an Oct. trip?

Have fun at DL Seewhat..

putting the finishing touches on the July US/IOA and WDW trip. with a side of U of Florida and U of central fl..need to put the Disney rewards $ on my card and get a room on the way down..,
How fun! I will be at UF right before school starts on Aug 22. I will pick Tom up from the airport. He will fly in from Russia and start school the next day. Poor kid!

Mention Samantha to your UF tour guide. I am sure they will know her.

Dana are you getting the free dining? I am not sure how that works. I have decided to do a week in August during the free dining time. Just not sure how the ticket thing works..

off to mow the yard. Ugh I hate yard work.

Hi BB,SLO and Seewhat!!

Cheeringmom I am not sure how free dining works in the USA. Here in the UK if you book through Disney UK at the appropriate dates you get free dining. I booked direct through the Disney UK website and we got free dining as part of the package. Then I just phoned up for my ADR's knowing they were free and also knowing that 14 days hoppers for the price of 7 day hopper were included in the deal.

When are you going in August? we set off on the 15th until the 24th. Staying at AKL.

:surfweb:

geffric - When do you leave for Florida?

Wednesday after the kids finalss.. driving 14 hours. The kids have an appt at 2 pm on Thursday at U of FL..

Mine is finally dying. All the water in the world won't help the tomato plants in 115+ heat. Sigh.

they don't like it cold either. I have tons of tomotes but they are all green..

Geffric - Are you still planning an Oct. trip?

yep// 10/3 - 10/10..

took the van in, again, for a water pump.. I have the extended warrenty so only Dodge can fix it.. so I'll be carless tomorrow.. but the works out okay, as I need to clean and vacuum, clean and wash and stage stuff..

I saw my cousins from FL today.. met them for lunch and then went back to my sisters, we had a lovely visit.. but they will be here when we are in WDW. but I will see them in October..

Well, the new AC upstairs in the kids' rooms is out. In fact it's even hotter in their rooms tonight than before the replacement, and today was cooler. So we tried an experiment tonight. Not only is Ian sleeping in the "new" room where the AC works great - sometimes it's so cold in there we have to totally turn it off - but we let Sophia sleep in there, too. Mind you, she still sleeps in a crib in her room. So this was a real test to see how she'd handle the "freedom." I had my doubts for a while, but then the kids finally settled down and now it's peace and quite up there. No telling what time they'll wake in the morning and come down to get us up though.

Okay all you DL experts, tell me what's a "must do" when we're there next month. We have 6 day park hoppers so I'd like to focus on attractions that aren't at WDW or are different enough to make a difference, since we're heading to Florida in October.

Ian and Sophia have been listening to both versions of the Tiki Room lately. Ian prefers the new one with Iago, but Sophia usually requests the original. So it's one and then the other, over and over and over again. :rotfl:

SLO - so glad business is going well for you. So sorry to hear about you mom's puppy problems though. I hope little Penny gets better soon.

DanaUK - I think it's time to display your artifact again

with all the work your doing in your garden. I hope the weather holds out so you can get it all done.

 to everyone else. I'm off to get everything together that the kids need to take to camp in the morning. Now, what to make them for lunches...
