Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Danuk ~ We have had a very little bit of snow here, but it must have been in the night as there was just a thin layer in the morning. And it soon went away again. I'm hoping we get a bit over christmas, thats always so magical.

I notice you went to DLP in October and November... we were there over Halloween too and loved it. When were you there exactly?

We were at the Disneyland hotel from the 27th - 30th October for Halloween. Then I was back again from the 7-9th November at the New York. I got to go back as my friend won a competition and we got a ford galaxy to drive over with full fuel, tunnel tickets, 2 nights at the NY, 3 day park passes, food and spending vouchers and we attended a VIP party in the park on the Saturday after the park has closed. I was amazing to be there for Halloween and the start of the Christmas season. The castle looks so magical!! When were you there and where did you stay?

Slo school is OK right now, sort of! We had an inspection a few weeks ago and so won't have one now for another year which is good. My class are really nice this year which is great. However I am gaining 3 special needs children after christmas, 2 of which have the ability of 4 year olds (and one has behavious issues) when they are 8. But I do gain another full time assistant which will be great.
However Petes school has the inspectors in today and tomorrow!!

I am looking forward to work tomorrow though, I am going to London again!! This time to the British museum to look at the Ancient Egypt exhibits. This is one museum I can never get bored in. I love the Ancient Egypt section here (I have been so many times I think I can tell the kids the info without having to read the info in front of everything!) But I am going as a favour as it isn't my class going. The teacher who's class is going had an accident this morning and has smashed her knee in and is in hospital having an operation on it tomorrow! Ouch. So the head asked if I would take charge and go.

Well I better go and make sure I have enough things for a pack up tomorrow!!

Slo ~ Unfortunately I don't live near my parents at the moment which really sucks. But we are very close and we speak every day. Apart from me all my family all live in the same town, and my Dad's family all love in the next town (apart from one of his sister's who has lived in Fort Lauderdale and now Australia). So I am kind of the odd one out, and miss everyone so much :sad1:. Nick's next day off is next Monday so we will be getting our tree then... its a bit late for me but with 2 little cats any earlier may be tempting fate a little too much :lmao:.

Cheeringmom ~ The stores over here have been stocking Christmas stuff before summer even ended too. But my Mum always makes me wait till later, she calls me crazy else .

Danauk ~ That is so cool your friend won that, it sounds like an amazing prize. And to get to go twice in such a short space of time is so lucky. We were there from October 31st-November 4th and stayed at Davy Crockett Ranch. We went to the Halloween party at the Disney park on the 31st and it was amazing, so, so good. The atmosphere was brilliant and it wasnt as packed as we thought. The decorations and fireworks were amazing. I love Christmas too, the decorations are beautiful. We went for New Year a few years ago and loved it, although it was soooo cold.

Have fun at the British Musuem, I would love to see the Egypt exhibit. We have been to quite a few of the other museums in London, and planned to go to the British and see the Terracota Army in January this year but we didn't have time with watching Cirque, going to the V&A, Hard Rock and shopping. Maybe I will go after christmas, and check out the sales too :thumbsup2

Well today Nick and I did our first Christmas thing and went shopping (can you believe until today I had no Christmas presents brought). We were out pretty much all of the day (we left at 10am and didn't get back until 10pm), and went to 2 different shopping centers, a town, and Tesco's (like Walmart), so I am now pretty tired. Unfortunatley I didn't manage to get many presents, but I did visit 2 Disney Stores and got some decorations, cards and a few little presents. We are now sitting at home with a glass of wine watching our first Christmas film of the year, The Holiday. I love Christmas time, its so magical.

Hello everyone, I had so much going on in life that had to be dealt with, I think i will be back around now that my mental status is doing a lot better. I had some rough issues that had to be dealt with, they were dealt with and things seem to be going very good. I think I am ready to return to bothering everyone, LOL.

Welcome back Yen Sid, hope youa re feeling better!!

Got some bad news to share and won't be on for a few weeks unless I can squeak a bit of computer time at my sister's house. My dad passed away all of the sudden today. He went into the ER this am and died about 330 pacific time. Apparently he had a heart attack and his kidneys failed and he had a clot in his lung. Thank God he had a great Thanksgiving with his family-minus me :sad2: ! I am off to CA in the wee hours. Miss you all

I am so sorry for your loss. I'll be praying for you

Cheeringmom ~ So sorry to hear about your loss, if you ever need to talk you know where we all are. Lots of hugs for you and your family and have a safe journey :grouphug:

There's saddness in my family this holiday season. My mom has found out that her beloved dog may be dying of cancer:guilty: The freaky thing about all this, is that her last 2 Beagles were diagnosed with their fatal illnesses at Thanksgiving time (this dog started acting ill last Friday) and then died at Christmas time. My mom is so upset!!!! Her and her dog have done so much together. They belong to a dog club where they have competed in tons of dog trials, and they have won a HUGE amount of ribbons. Daisy is also a "service dog" and up until last year, my mom and her would go to nursing homes and hospices to visit the sick and dying, so they've done alot together. My dad is going to take this worst of all. He has, what we think, mid-stages of Alzheimers (he refused to see a doctor, so he keeps getting worse and worse), and he's very confused about this whole thing. Daisy was all he had anymore to make him truly happy. They would nap together all day (Daisy on his lap), and she would keep him company when my mom would be gone. When Daisy does die, my dad is going to go from bad to worse, and my poor mom is going to have to deal with that (I feel so bad for her, she's 61 and my dad is 76, but acts like he's 86). This whole thing is just bad:guilty:

My mom has already decided that she is going to take Daisy to The University of Illinois where they are going to do a biopsy of the tumor that is in her lung, but most likey it will be cancerous (the vet said that the majority of all tumors in the lung are cancerous). When she gets that news, she will have to decide what she wants to do, if there's anything that can be done. She's got a long road ahead of her, and I feel so bad that I can't go to this university with her, but there's no way with my store. My MIL, God bless her, called my mom yesterday, and told my mom that she would go with her - I thought that was so nice!!!!!! I'm so glad we have a close knit family:goodvibes

So, if you would all keep my mom and dad in your thoughts and prayers, I would really appreciate it. Please keep her dog in your thoughts and prayers too. Obviously, I want Daisy to get better, but I don't see that happening. Right now, my biggest thought and concern is for my parents, because they are going to be devostated when she is gone:sad1: This whole thing is just so sad at Christmas time:sad1:

SeeWhat said:
a little grey is a sign of wisdom, be proud!
I like this, and I will use it the next time my DH teases me about how grey I am:laughing:
**I hate the cold too, and I'm always saying that when Kevin and I are retired, that we need to move somewhere warm, like Florida :sunny: He says he would never want to move to Florida, but we'll see if he changes his mind someday:rolleyes:

Danauk - I hope you have a nice day at the museum, and I'm glad your class is good this year. Having the special needs children will be more stressful for you, but it's good you have an assistant:)

Ariel - It's good you got some shopping done:) I have a little more to do too, and then I"m done:thumbsup2

YenSid - I"m sorry to hear that you haven't been well:guilty: If you ever want to talk about it, we are here to listen:grouphug: I"m glad you hear that you are doing better - that's good news!!!!!:)

Cheeringmom -
I am so very sorry to hear about your dad passing away:sad1: I will thinking about you, and praying for you and your family during this sad time. Please know that we are here for you, and when you need to talk, we are here to always listen:grouphug: May God give you and your family comfort during this sad time

Well, I gotta get going and get to work early today - I have alot to do, because I need to leave a little early today (6pm). Stephanie has a Christmas program at 7pm, and my one highschool employee (the one that's been with me for over a year) is coming in special so I can go - I just love this girl!!!!!:goodvibes

Have a good day!!!

Slo ~ Sorry to hear about your troubles too, and it sucks that it has to happen at Christmas. I know how sad it is when you lose any pets, or when they get sick, but in your case its 100 times worse so I really feel for you and your family. I will definitely put Daisy in my prayers, along with your parents

welcome back.. if you need to talk we are here for you :grouphug: hope that things are better.

SLO - sad news about your Mom's dog..:grouphug: hope that she finds out the answers she needs at the University. You Dad's condition bothers me.. can't you get him to see a doctor.. really he doesn't need to be that sick so soon..

I just read my last posts and really sad stuff going on here.. I fell really bad for all of the hurting peeps.. CMOM i know that it is a hard road you are on. If I can help in anyway let me know..

Cheeringmom: Very sorry to hear about your father.

Everyone else, thank you very much for the support; talking would be very nice right now but I can't do it on the boards in the public eye. My main problem is I joined the Army right after high school and lost contact with all of my friends, I never had the time or desire to make new ones because I am not really a people person IRL and I spent all of my time toward my wife and kids. Talking would be really great but I would have to do it in private messages, thank you everyone for the help.

Yen Sid ~ I just wanted to say 'Hi' as I am new here, I just joined you guys the other day.

pm if you want.. DH was career Army reserves and retired. CMOM DH is career military too. So your in good company..;)

I am so bored tonight. I am sat here alone, well with just my little kitties for company. I have finished writing my Christmas cards and doing my holiday plans and now I have nothing to do and there is nothing on TV. Why is it some times you have so much to do and not nearly enough time to do it and at others you have absolutely nothing to do :confused3

We had a good trip so far--FIL is having some good days. He gets to be on chemo soon and maybe a experimental drug study.

We had went to see Bolt with our oldest nephew---it was a good movie. The theater was empty except for the 3 of us.

Time for bed...we get to spend the day with our 8 year old niece (school day off for parent-teacher conference...she brought home a good report card).

We will home by Sunday night.

Stephanie's Christmas program last night was really really nice!!!!!:goodvibes I'm going to buy the DVD ($2) so I can watch it again, because most of it was hard to see because of where we sat. The kids did a great job, and they sounded awesome!!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for all your kind thoughts about my mom's dog, and for my parents. My mom said that Daisy was breathing even harder yesterday, and her underbody keeps getting larger (she has fluid in her lungs, and it must be getting more). The whole thing is so sad!!!!:sad1:

ariel - I know what you mean, and before I had my girls, I had many moments like you described. Have you started decorating yet? I still have some more to do, but I just don't feel like it. I normally wrap all my pictures in the house with Christmas wrapping, and then put ribbon and bows on them, but I just don't feel like it this year. Maybe I'll do it next week:rolleyes:

geffric - My dad's condition bothers me too ::yes:: He absolutly won't go to the doctor, because he thinks he's just fine. When my hints about him going, he gets really man and yells at her and tells her that "he's not crazy, she's the one that's crazy!!!!!" The other day my mom was putting out her nativity and he had no idea what it was:sad2: When she asked him what we celebrate at Christmas, he answered, "Yeah....presents" and this is coming from a very strong religious person and church goer:eek: The whole situation is bad and is getting worse. Even if my mom could get him to go to the doctor, he WOULD NOT take any medication:sad2: For years now, he won't take any pills, perscription or over the counter, because he believes they make him feel sick - even an aspirin:eek: My mom really has her hands full, and I feel sad, because she is to young for this!!!!:sad1:

YenSid - Contined hugs to you!!!

Belle - Have fun with your neice today!!!:cool1: Have a safe trip home!!!! I'm glad your FIL is having some good days while you are there.:)

Well, I'm off to workout - have a great day today!!!

Morning...BBBRRRRR it is freezing here.. I turned on the weather report this morning before i left for the train and it said 8 degrees.. 8 degrees without the wind chill.. BBBBBRRRR

SLO how are you holding up in this cold?? From what I understand, The mean things is part of the whole disease..i am so sorry that you and your Mom are going through this..:grouphug:

NCB - I am sure that your visit has brighten FIL day.. continuned prayers for him and the family..

well I need to get to work.. talk later

Slo ~ We haven't started decorating yet unfortuantely. Nick is working now until Monday and all the decorations are put away, plus I need his help picking the tree, cutting the stem etc. But on Monday it will be go, go, go... I cant wait, I love seeing the house all decorated. I am all alone tonight again so I am going to start getting the lounge all sorted ready for the decorations. And I am thinking about getting creative and maybe making some gift tags, but I will have to see.
