Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

We just got home from the doctor's office. They tested DD for strep and flu. Thankfully both were negative. The cough is worse today; that is why I brought her in. I was concerned about pneumonia or bronchitis. The doctor listened to her lungs and said they sounded fine. She gave us a prescription for cough medicine but no antibiotic. I had the prescription filled, but I will not give it unless she has trouble sleeping tonight. She did cough some last night, but it didn't wake her up. The fever is staying consistent so I am giving her Tylenol.

Slo and BlueBayou, how are your sick ones today? I hope everyone is feeling better at your homes! I noticed that your children were not eating. Thankfully my DD is eating, not much, but at least eating. She is also drinking lots of water because she says it is helping her throat to feel better. I am thankful that she is drinking fluids!

good morning. Hope all of out little sick b babies are doing better today. Thank goodness no pneumonia. I think the flu is pretty bad this year. Even witht he shot you still have a 60% chance of getting a different strain of flu. ugh

:surfweb:

Cheeringmom - Is Tom a Gator???

:
chomp chomp. Yep got an other Gator in the house. What a relief!!!

Slo and BlueBayou, how are your sick ones today?
Thanks for asking. So far so good today. Still coughing, but not as much. The fever has yet to return. She has been eating since yesterday at noon.

Great news for you!!! :thumbsup2

I have been giving my DD honey today for the cough. I read a report that said that honey performed better than cough medicine in some tests. I don't know how well any of it helps. :confused3 I would rather her have the honey during the day than the medicine. The fever is actually a little lower now than it was last night and this morning. Maybe that means she will be fever free tomorrow! I hope.

I'm sorry lots of the kids here are sick, I hope they all get better soon.

Well, still no baby news here, my SIL is getting bored now and just wants him/her to arrive!!

So is anyone doing anything nice today? I'm off to the gym in a bit, then I have a day of housework ahead of me! So no fun here!!

Have a good day everyone.

Morning Taglikins!

Yesterday was 'girls' day and several of us met for a movie and lunch. I'd like to report that "Definately, Maybe" is one of the best chic-flicks I've seen in a long time. It was even better than anticipated. I highly recommend it...I even think all those DH's out there would enjoy it too, since the story is told from a man/dad's perspective!

Today I might actually break down and do some housework! :lmao: OR...maybe I'll just head over to the Arabian horse show....

.

Wow, Katie and I just woke up - that's late for us!!!!! :teeth:

Katie is still not 100%, but I do think she is getting better.
I didn't give her any Motrin yesterday, so that's good (I do think she had a very low grade fever still, in the afternoon, but I thought it would be good for her body to have that fever help fight its battle). I started giving her Musinex for kids, and that seems to help her cough be a lot more productive, and I also started putting saline spray in her nose - she said that helps too. I also bought a new warm air vaporizor for her, and put that next to her bed all last night, and I think that really really helped her. She slept alot more peacefully, and she woke up more happy this morning. So, hopefully today will be a better day for her (fingers crossed).

I just talked to Kevin, and he is having a good time in Florida. He called from the race track, and he said that it was 82 and sunny :sunny: He sounds a little homesick though, and we miss him too:guilty: He doesn't come home until Wednesday.
*While he is gone, he finalizing our trip date for our vacation this year. We will be gone the last week of October, and we are staying at his parents time share, that is right outside of WDW property. It is spacious condo, where the girls will have their own room, and we'll have our own room w/ bathroom, and we'll also have a living room, and kitchen - it'll be a ton of room, and we'll only be paying $149 for the whole week:woohoo: It'll be weird staying off property, but this place will be really really nice for us!!!!!:thumbsup2

The girls and I are just chilling out all day today, and we did last night too. We rented a ton of movies that we are going to watch. Last night we watched Hairspray, and I LOVED IT!!!!! I told Stephanie that we may have to buy that movie :scratchin. Today we are watching Jump In, with Corbin Bleu, because we have never seen that movie all the way through. I also bought Rataullie (sp?) and we'll watch that today too - we are going to be official bums today :teeth:

BlueBayou - How's Elise doing today (have I ever told you that I love her name)? It sounds like her and Katie have the exact same thing (they've always done so many things alike since I've known you. It's to bad we live so far away from each other, they would probably be great friends:) )

TLH - How is your DD feeling today? I'm glad she doesn't have the flu or pneumonia, that's a relief!!! I'm also glad that's she's eating for you - it's always hard to watch your child not eat :guilty: How old is your DD again?

Cheeringmom - CONGRATULATIONS to Tom on becoming a Gator!!!!! :cheer2: That's awesome news!!!!!

Danauk - I'm so excited to hear about the baby, I hope he/she is born soon. Please keep us posted!!!! :)

ibouncetoo - I"m glad you had a nice girls day, and thanks for the movie review. I really look forward to seeing that movie when it comes out on DVD - I thought it looked really good:thumbsup2

Well, I better get running and start breakfast
I'm making the girls and I pancakes :goodvibes
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

Well, no church for us today. DD is still running fever. As a matter of fact, her fever is a bit higher this morning than it was yesterday evening. I don't understand that. :confused3 :confused3 Her cough sounds horrible. It is not a dry, hacky (Is that how you spell it?). Her cough is full of congestion. I did give her the cough medicine last night. She didn't cough too badly through the night. I just gave her honey this morning. I have not given her Tylenol because I want to see if the fever breaks without it. She told me that her throat does not hurt today. She said that she feels ok. I hope that she gets better soon. BTW, she is 9 years old.

ibouncetoo, I have read many wonderful reviews about this movie. I can't wait to see it!!!!!!! DH is still out of town for work. He is hoping to finish up and fly home tomorrow. We will have our Valentine's Day celebration this upcoming weekend. We will have dinner and maybe a movie. I will try to convince him to go to that one! :thumbsup2

Slo, I am happy that Katie is feeling better. I hope she gets better each day. Congrats on your upcoming trip. The time share sounds great! We are waiting to see if free dining is offered again this fall before we decide on our next WDW trip. We will likely go in September for free dining if it is offered. If not, we will probably go in November. DH is still hoping for another Disney cruise, too. We will see.
Funny, I rented us several movies yesterday too. I thought that we would watch them since we were stuck inside all weekend. We watched Night at the Museum last night. Today my oldest DD and I will watch Becoming Jane and Pride and Prejudice! I love both of those!!! DD hasn't seen either of them yet so I am anxious to see what she thinks. She is 12, will be 13 in July. Hopefully she will love them as much as I do!

SLO glad Katie is feeling a bit better. Does she have tomorrow off from
school?

TLHB70 I am so sorry your dd is still not well. This is some nasty crud going around :flower3:

Ibounce sounds like a fun day. I love going girls night out. We usually do that during Idol season. I am having some ladies over to watch the boys go at it on Tuesday. and really all, I do have a life after Idol...just not during!!:cheer2:

going to get DVR finally. Bought a new TV and it doesn't work well for some reason-not a strong enough signal? who knows so I am off to Cox cable to tell them of my tv problems and hopefully DVR will do the trick!

BB how is your little one??

We were so lazy yesterday, that I'm almost embarrassed.
We got up late, and then I made some pancakes :goodvibes
We took our showers, and got into some comfy clothes
We then sat and watched TV all day:happytv:
We watched the movie Jump In (Disney Channel movie that we rented)
Then we watched Toy Story 2
After that we watched Are We There Yet (very funny)
And between that we watched regular TV
It was great to have a day to chill out!!!!! :goodvibes

Today Stephanie has the day off of school, so she is spending the day with my mom. Katie is doing much better, so she is off to daycare today (let's hope she doesn't get anything else - fingers crossed).

TLH - My oldest DD is 9yrs old too :) How is she feeling today? I sure hope she is feeling better :wizard:
**We used to always go in September too, but now that Stephanie is older, and her teachers give her so much homework to do while we are gone, she doesn't enjoy it as much, because she's doing so much school work. So we are now going over her fall break in October, so she only missed 3 days, instead of 6. We are actually going to be there over Halloween, so we are definitly doing MNSSHP this year!!!!:thumbsup2
**I picked up the Becoming Jane box, and then I put it down, because I didn't think Steph would like it. Did you DD like it? If she did, I may rent it for us sometime.

cheeringmom - Stephanie, my 9yr old, has off today, but Katie is going to daycare today. She's been going to work with me everyday since Thursday (including Saturday), and I think she's getting a little bored of it. I'm a little nervous about her going back to daycare, because so many parents take their kids there sick, but hopefully she'll be okay (fingers crossed)

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Well, we are off to the doctor again today.
My youngest DD, the one that has been sick for the last three days, is NOT running a fever today :thumbsup2 but her cough is stilll terrible.
My oldest DD, age 12, has the fever now. It is higher than my youngest DD had. Her head hurts, throat hurts, and she is aching all over. She is as limp as a rag, lying on the couch. I sure hope this isn't flu! I have a 9:40 AM appointment. I am going to have them both checked since youngest DD is still coughing. She can't stay home by herself anyway. I figured that since she has to come to the doctor with oldest DD and me, she might as well be checked again too. Her appointment Saturday was with Urgent Care clinic. This will be the pediatrician.

Slo, my 9 year old DD didn't watch Becoming Jane. She wasn't interested. Plus, I think the language would be too hard for her to keep up with. It got a little too difficult for my 12 year old too. I had to keep stopping and explaining things. She did like it, except for the ending. She and I watched Pride and Prejudice after Becoming Jane. She really liked it! Youngest DD didn't watch that with me either. One day she will though.
We watched Daddy Daycare yesterday also. It was a lazy day at our house, too.
I don't know if I have mentioned this or not, but I homeschool. That is why missing for WDW trips is not an issue. We start school a couple of weeks early, or we school during spring break/Thanksgiving, etc. Honestly, I had planned to do school today, but now we are taking the day off.
DH is flying home today!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see him!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :woohoo:

That is good to hear. Jessie has a dental cleaning tomorrow. She knows something is up when the vet office to confirm and heard me ask if she can have water.

Slo---We were thinking about late October for our next trip. My in-laws used Sheraton Vistana in 2006 when they traded a week with RCI. The condo seemed nice and its not that far away from the parks and DTD.

Morning everyone.
I hope everyones children are starting to feel better. I spoke to my SIL last night, still no baby yet!! If s/he isn't here by Sunday she is going in to be induced. Hopefully s/he will arrive before that.

Oh well, I just dropped by quickly, even though I am off work I have tonnes of work to do so I better get on with it all.

Have a good day everyone.

Yawn.......

Stephanie woke up last night heavily complaining of a stomachache. So I sat up with her for awhile, and then eventually gave her a bucket, and told her to try and sleep. She did go back to sleep, but I didn't sleep well again, because I was waiting for her to get back up. So now I"m not sure what to do with her. Do I send her to school, or do I keep her home? I hate to keep her home when nothing happened, but I hate to send her to school and have her get sick in front of her friends - how embarrassing!!!! What to do, what to do?!?!?!

TLH - I'm sorry your other DD is not feeling well :guilty: Please let us know what the Doctor says about both of your girls. I will send tons more get well PD their way:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
**I have a friend that homeschools her children, and she loves it!!!! She has found other parents that homeschool, and they do alot of field trips together. Do you do anything like that? She really believes the children learn alot from these field trips. I have so much respect for parents that homeschool, because I don't think I could do it.

Wally - :wave2:

Belle - Wow, we may be there at the same time :yay: Keep me posted on if you are definitly going at that time, and maybe we could meet each other in person :goodvibes

Danauk - Your poor SIL must be so anxious for her baby to come. I hope he/she comes naturally, and she doesn't have to be induced :wizard:

Well, I"m off and running!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!!

:wizard: Some get well pd for those who need it! ~*~*~*

Poor Jessie. :sad2: She not only got her teeth cleaned, but the other end got worked on plus her spring time shots. She is going to be so grumpy when she gets home tonight. NC Beast dropped her off early for her all day visit and will pick her up at supper time. Jessie is costing us some money today.
